The Path To A Lasting Peace Cannot Incorporate Presidential Wing Clipping As Her Wisdom Represents The Sinhala Nation.

Is the Wickremasinghe Administration focussing more on its survival than the promised permanent peace which has thus far held its momentum if the past six months of a conflict free Sri Lanka is to be taken as a positive sign?.Too much attention is still being given to the primary anxieties of the theoreticians led by whom many Lankans have chosen to dub'The Chief of Turncoats' G.L. Peiris who continues to harp on the theme of Presidential wing clipping in his never ending cacophony occassionally taken up by some of his browbeating colleagues which include the likes of John Ameratunga, S.B Dissanayake and Tyrone Fernando whose insecurities seem to lie in the area of their personal securities as well as their political future and a nagging interruption to whatever beneficial implications the calm within the Nation even temporarily has afforded thus far.

If the primary panicof sectarian pockets within the Administration envisaged by the more discerning of the Nation as none but panic relative to speculations that the President would toss out the UNF Government at the end of a years tenure, then it is a poor reflection on the confidence of the Administration which seems to have mixed priorities about asserting the rights of the Nation as opposed to adulating the rear end of terrorist demands and deserve to be dumped on the grounds of inefficiency and self-centred motivations which is hoped is certainly not the case and as dubious as it seems the Prime Mnister appears to have weathered the storm of anticipated renewed LTTE attrocities and a status quo which imperatively needs to be maintained towards the well being of the Nation.

Whether it be a calming influenceon the murderous instincts of Prabhakaran by the near Freudian tactics of Ranil the mastercrafter,a certain wariness on the part of past LTTE posturing which once depended on their intimidatory attitude now indicating a leaning towards negotiation or a response to the ultimatums issued by theUS led Global Community to re-direct their trend of thought towards incorporating idealogies conducive towards a lasting peace devoid of armed conflict, there certainy has come about a change in the political and socio-economic climate of Sri Lanka as welcome as the monsoon rains after a long drought and needs to be maintained in all wisdom and has no prioritised conceptions which demand Presidential wing clipping which even if attempted should fall by the wayside as Mrs Chandrika Kumaratunga has not yet been phased out as the Matriarch of Sri Lanka by her people in whose ultimate hands rests the destiny of Sri Lanka.

The new bickering between the factions of the UNF and the astute stand of the President demanding the rights of the Sinhala Nation is a clear indication that while Presidential concerns about aspects of the Peace Process which seemingly jeapordize the Nation's Sovereignity are more than justified, the UNF's hurried projections towards restricting Presidential Authority vested in her Constitutionally is a representation of veiled doubts about the future of their existence relative to the mismanagement of the ideals of morality towards justification that the future holds a permanent peace in the eyes of the Sinhala Nation regardless of how flawed the the Peace Process may be and the very essence of Presidential objection!

Continuing this trend would be a fatal error on the part of the Administration which should now concentrate of the path of seeming progress towards what the UNF has defined as a lasting peace while retaining the guidance of Presidential Wisdom which represents the Sinhala Nation and any attempts to blank it would be callously detrimental to the Nation.
