TNA is neither ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ acting in the interest of Sri Lanka, nor that of the Tamils who voted for TNA. The TNA Parliamentarians ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ have their own Agenda and they are exploiting the poor Tamil people by whipping up their sentimental attachment towardsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ their own Tamilness , making promises of a separate Tamil identity. That is all what they give to the Tamil people in return for their votes .
Sampanthan and his ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA cohorts are not interested in the welfare of the Tamil people as it is evident from what they had been doing from the day they were elected ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as Parliamentarians. Their only preoccupation had been theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ devolution of power for the Tamils in the North and East,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ make loud noises about an ethnic problem, and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ calling the Government for ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- an accountabilityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ for the last phase of the military operations against the terrorists.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
They went ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to Canada, America, London, Australia, Netherlands, and India peddling their separatist demands without doing an iota of work for the Tamils.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All that is ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ being done for the welfare and development of the Tamil Community in the North and East, is through the indefatigable efforts of the President Mahinda Rajapakse , his government and the Sinhala people of the South.
The time has come for the President and the Sri Lanka Government to say NO to TNA andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ban them as a political party.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ efforts of the TNA MPs had been to incite the Tamil people against the government, ask for Police Powers to enhance their political power base in the North and East.
They have completely neglected matters of importance to the Tamil people ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in their daily existence, such as to live in peace and security, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ bring up their families, and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ prepare the future of their children.
In this situation allowing the TNA to continue to go onƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ keeping alive the demand ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the terrorist PrabhakaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s demand for ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a separate Tamil Homeland will only have disastrous consequences.
The Government should takeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ immediate action now, ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ before irreparable damage would be done by the TNA , to the unity of the Communities, development projects, and international relations. The true face of TNA should be revealed to the public.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA has no right to continue to deceive the Tamil people of the North and East.
SampanthanƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s criticism of the report of the LLRC, had been highlightedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in an articel ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA wants Accountability Mechanism for Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚» in The Hindu website.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sampanthan had said that the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission report ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-categorically fails to effectively and meaningfully deal with issues of accountabilityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TheseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ statements ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sampanthan and others of the TNA had to be seen in the light of other issues to understand the tactical role the TNA is playing to deceive the government and the people of Sri Lanka inviting the attention of the terrorist front Organisations of the Tamil Diaspora.
Australian Herald Sun reporter Keith Moor stated in a report, that the Austrralian courts had recentlyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ released to be of good behaviour three hard core terrorists, Viniyagamoorthy, Arumugan Rajeevan and Sivarajan.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They had admitted to have been with the terrorists and in their camps and cultivated a very close relationship ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with the terrorist leadership.

The NationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ reported as a news item that the Military intelligence had uncovered a plan to resurrect the LTTE through an attempt to register an organisationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ for displaced TamilƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ persons in Vanni.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ For this perpose the plan aimsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to recruit the rehabilitated LTTE Cadres who were in the terrorist military units.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The plan is to operate under theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ three groups of Nediwayan, Rudracumaran and Emmanuel brought together for a planned insurgence.
TheƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ GovernmentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ mayƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ be satisfied withƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the rehabilitation of former LTTE combatants and educating them and providing them with training in various professional fields to enable them to reintegrate into the civil society, and that the plan will work as expected.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
How can the government be assured that those rehabilitated ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ formerƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ terrorist cadres have changed their sentimental attachments to the cause they fought, when TNA and the diaspora Tamils are secretly whipping up theirƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ racial sentiments and trying to ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ win them back into their way of thinking to fight for a separate Tamil Homeland, and joinƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with themƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ when the time is ready to rise against the government and the Sinhala people in another round of terrorism ?
If the TNA is allowed to go on with their tactic of criticising every attempt of the government to reconcile the communities , by even running down the LLRC while commendingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Darusman report, the rehabilitated terrorist combatants may begin to think twice and may follow the TNA.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
That will help the strategy of TNA to set up the discontented Tamil youth ( see Lakbima articleƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ on Marini de Livera) , along side the rehabilitated terrorist combatants ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ against the Government .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In addition they will be able to get the pro terrorists Tamil diaspora as well to come disguised as NGOs and the so the ground is prepared for another round of terrorism in Sri Lanka.
If there is another insurgency being planned the TNA ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will undoubtedly play a pivotal roleƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in such a movement.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The TNA is at the moment trying to awaken ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a Sri Lanka Tamil Nationalism inciting the Tamil people may be preparing them for a revolt against the Government of Sri Lanka. Mano GaneshanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ has also begun to make noises.
Now let us see what TNA MP Sumanthiran said to Jatila Karawita in an interviewƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ .ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA now copying the Western anti Sri Lanka groups is trying to forget theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 30 years of murders , assassinations, massacres that had been caused by the ruthless terrorists under its ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Thalaivar Prabhakaran., ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and says ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the LLRC Report has ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”dramatically failed to address the accountability issues pertaining to the final phase of the North-East ethnic conflict between the government security forces and the LTTE.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»
There is much more ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- accountability ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- to be done by the TNA MPs as they aided and abetted the terrorists been appointed by Prabhakaran and having been the spokesmen of the terrorists for several decades, and not just for the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ final phase of the North-East ethnic conflict between the government security forces and the LTTE terroristsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The TNA is as much responsibleƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ as the terrorists for all those murders, assassinations and massacres.
This traitor Sumanthiran says , ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦.while his party would issue a detailed response to the LLRC Report in time to come, only an independent inquiry which is not biased towards either the government or the LTTE would reveal the truth concerning alleged war crimes being committed during the final phase of the war.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»
What does he meanƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ What he means is that an International probe should be made to know exactly what transpired at the last phase of the military operations against the terrorists. What can an international inquiry reveal other than what the LLRC had found by a vast investigationƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ speaking to those who were the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ players,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ involved, meeting people who had gone through the ordeal of suffering under the terrorists, understanding theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ cultural back ground of the people involved ,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who understand the suffering ,through loss and fear.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is nothing more for an International Investigators to find.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
But the fact is Sumanthiran and the TNA traitors lack trust and undertanding of Sri LankasƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ own Institutions and honesty and justice of the elders of the country.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA are outsiders and will always remain so. TNA willƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ never be patriots of Sri Lanka, but separatristsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ waiting for a chance toƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ break up the unitary state of Sri Lanka.
Sumanthiran says , ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚«ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Our concerns are entirely for the people of the North-East, and we will continue to look after their best interests.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚»ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
That is why they are a set of traitors. Members of the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Parliament of Sri Lanka following a democratic system of government , should not be interested only in those who voted to elect them as their representatives, but theyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ should work in cooperation with other partners that make up the country, and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ through the Parliament, contribute to the welfare and well being of all the people.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
If they (TNA) want to be outsiders in the Parliament , they ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will confiscate their right to ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ participate in the affairs of the country, and it is better that theyƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ resign from their bogus responsibility for the Tamil people.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Tamil people will be better looked after by the Majority Community than the power crazy Tamil Parlialmentarians ,who have failed to contribute in any way for the wellbeing of the Tamil people that voted for them other than talking big, calling for investigations of the military operations that killed their Thalaivar.
TNA cannot think independently.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They lack simple political intelligence. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In Sri Lanka there was a ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ruthless group of terroristsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ murderingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the Tamil intellectuals, assassinating politicians, military and civil leaders, and massacring innocent villagers, an innocent civilians, using claymore bombs, and suicide bombers becoming an unchallenged force determined to divide the country at whatever cost.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Government of Sri Lanka failed in all its attempts to come to a peace settlement with the terrorists, the continued terror of the terrorists forced the Government Armed forces to begin its military operations.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is with ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ that as the background the critics andƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ thoseƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who accuse the Armed forces of Sri Lanka for war crimes should look at the finalƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ phase of the military operations against the terrorists.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- no accountabilityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ necessary as the Military operation was a necessary evil that had to be carried out at whatever cost to eliminate terrorism for good. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And that was the only way to rid terrorism from Sri Lanka, and the Sri Lanka Armed forces did what was necessary.
We cannot have within our own Parliament a group working not for the voters who elected them, nor for Sri Lanka and its people of all communities, but ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ carrying onƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ with a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-warƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ plan against the people of Sri LankaƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ taking directives fromƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ groups out side Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Therefore the TNA has no place as a political party in Sri Lanka and therefore it should be banned. Perhaps under the Terrorism act ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-for indirectly inciting a section of the people to create unrest in the country , with a view to organize an insurrection.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
TNAƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s continued aggressive attitude , quite unconcerned about the development projects undertaken in the North and East by the government , and not sharing in these projects, neglecting the people who voted for them, but carrying on an aggressive political campaign detrimental to the country and the efforts of reconciliation and the unity of the communities, should be condemned. It ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ bodes dangers ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to the future of Sri Lanka unless the TNA is stopped from carrying out further damage to the country anƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ mislead the Tamil people and the youth.
In this respectƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ a reporter of Lakbima , Elmo LeonardƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ writes ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ on, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…- Thousands of ex-LTTE soldiers still unemployed.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ His report is on statements made to him by a Human Rights Activist and Trainer Marini de Livera.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ She says :

There is a ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ saying that an idle mind is devils workshop.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is in the light of the situation described that the continued agitationsƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of the TNA should be viewed.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ TNA is a bad influence to the Tamil youthƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ of the North and East who could be mislead through hardship and whipped up Tamil nationalism.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ All the effort the Government is making to reconcile the people and find work and improve the condition of living of the peopleƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ will be in vain if it leaves Tamil National Alliance to sow the seeds of hatred and racism.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Therefore, the alternative to stop thisƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ erosion of Communal Unity is to ban TNA.

Mr.Sumanthiran, what about a international probe into last 30 years of Sri Lankan conflict, instead of last 30 minutes?
Mr.Sambandan, the GOSL is accountable to Sri Lankan people, not to those who financed terrorism in Sri Lanka.
We too like to see accountability for 1990 Police officers massacre, Kattankudy mosque, Anuradapura Bodhi, Habarana bus, Palliyagodalla, Digampathana, Central bank, Kabithigollawa, Dehiwala train, Kent farm, Dollar farm, Lion Air, Gonawala, Kallarawa, Katunayaka Colombo Airport, Aranthalawa, Kokalai, Gomarankadawala, Sri Maha Bodhi, ethnic cleansing in Jaffna District, Wilpattu, Mahandrapura, Dehiwatta, Mudu pilgrims, Kantalai, Serunuwara, Kinniya, CTO and continue this list till cows come home.

It is time that the GOSL enact legislation that any organisation trying to divide the country is made a criminal offence.
Also like India this must be enshrined in the constitution that any such threats be made a criminal offence.
It is time the GOSL wake up and address this issue seriously.
If this is done parties such as the TNA will no longer exist.
Also these political parties are a threat to the the national security of Sri Lanka and should not be allowed to operate.
No peace loving country on earth will tolerate this nonsense. As they say when you give an inch they take a mile, these ungrateful TNA politicians have taken advantage of Sri Lankan genesority.
It is high time to say enough is enough.
They can play their games in Tamil Nadu or get the hell out of Sri Lanka you cannot have two seperate states as you have one in Tamil Nadu.

TNA should negotiate with Tamil Nadu State govt. and have the Tamil Diaspora come and resettle there and build new settlements around the Nilgiri mountains. There they can build a new life as they please.
Also, we would like to see an end to ethnic (and religious) based political parties in Sri Lanka. We simply cannot afford them and their demands.

Nothing stops them from forming another racist party. That is what they did every time. TULF was banned but they became pussy cats and came back. Then they changed the name to TNA. We have to punish the CULPRITS behind these funny racist parties.
A referendum is a good way to show the world what people think. It is binding. The bad side is the referendum results will show to the world the division. Northern, Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Ampara (SLMC) voters will vote against it.

If Separatism is forever on the cards for some Tamil leaders of Lanka, then as Shan9 says, all Separatist activities will have to be classified as Treason against the State of Sri Lanka, punishable by (suggestion) life sentence with hard labor. Add that too for approval by the People in the Referendum to the Nation.

Thanks Charles for opening a mini debate. Any party with a race or religious connotation in their name must be banned. You don’t need a party to represent a particular religion or a race. All are Sri Lankans-for god’s sake. Ideally, there should not be priests of any religion in parliament. Why, sinhala, tamil, catholic, hindu, buddhist, etc.. Priests can be advisers to any politician, but it is not their business to meddle with government. Some of them should be derobed in my book, and ask to fend for themselves.

Very diplomatically lets have a referendum first to see the reaction of UNP, NLSSP, TNA and others Political Parties for GOSL enact legislation that any organization or political party trying to divide the country is made a criminal offence.
Same a like India, Malaysia and many other countries enshrined in the constitution that any such threats is totally banned.

Yes Tamil terrorists and Indian interests have managed to get rid of Sinhala identity. That was their aim since dividing the Sinhala unity in 1951 by using their puppett SWRD.
If the majority unite and stand up for their basic rights then the priviledged Tamils and other Indians will stop demanding more and more priviledges.

I still feel we should have a Referendum on the Separatism issues (Vaddukoddai Resolution) etc., ethnic based/religion based political parties, as well as as the 13-A, even though ultimately the Parliament decides on these issues. We must make the voting population of Sri Lanka, i.e. We the People of Lanka, think of their responsibilities as citizens of this Nation, their loyalty to the Nation that feeds and shelters them. Each person must participate and think on issues affecting us all as the collective citizenry of Lanka. That is Democracy at its best.
After that, more Referendums can be held on other matters that affect Lankans.

Re TNA : they must first prove beyond doubt to the rest of Lanka that they are willing to be truly Sri Lankan, loyal to this land and its People. As most of the Tamil leaders misled their Tamil population and made Lanka into a terrorist run, blood soaked land for almost 30 yrs., we have to demand an equal or longer time period which would be designated as TESTING TIME for the Tamil leaders & Tamils of Lanka. During this future 30 yr period, Tamil people of Lanka should make every effort to integrate into the rest of society in Lanka, both in the N&E, and the rest of the island. The N&E must become multi-ethnic & aim for better in every way, as before the ltte. The N&E are run at present on the tax payers money from the whole of Lanka. As such, how can the TNA ask for any special concessions for themselves ? We really don’t see why the rest of Lanka must pay for the Caste wars of the Tamil population here & in Tamil Nadu. Since Lanka has lost so much in WEALTH & REPUTATION in placating some Tamil leaders on their caste wars, GoSL & the rest of Lanka is in a good bargaining position. Don’t throw/squander this position away. Bargain for a permanent peace for all of Lanka. Then we can Develop & Grow in peace. As things are, all development plans get disrupted due to so called imported Tamil caste wars and Tamil aspirations that are inimical to the rest of Lanka.
As things are, Lanka is being used as a battering ram to get concessions for low caste Tamils of Tamil Nadu too. Tamil Nadu problems are being shifted to Lanka. Sri Lanka is a sovereign state and not a part of Tamil Nadu or India. Why should this be allowed to happen ? Tamil Nadu politics should begin and end in Tamil Nadu. Sri Lanka will look after her own Tamil population.

As I have proven before a referendum creates further divisions which we don’t need.
Tamils around the country (except upcountry) and Muslims in the east support racist parties (TNA, TMVP, TULF, ITAK, ACTC, SLMC) while the rest don’t.
A referndum costs a lot of money too. Why can’t the parliament simply pass an act banning separatism, racism, racist parties, etc. when it has the two thirds majority? They are empowered to make decisions.
Tamil Nadu will NEVER mind its own f* business. A Tamil nation is a NEED not a fancy. They can NEVER get it from India or Malaysia or Maldives which they tried and failed. The only country that GIVES INTO Tamil demands is SL.
Take this case.
Mr Lingam is a beggar. There are 4 houses. One very rich and big house where householders have 5% sympathy for Mr Lingam. Another very rich medium to large sized house shows 4% sympathy for him. A small house which is easier to rob (if need be) has 0% sympathy for Lingam. A medium size poor house has 18% sympathy for Lingam and he knows from past experience, the fools in this house are very compassionate that they give whatever they can whenever Lingam begs there.
Which house would Lingam go to if he is desperate?
If his preferred house turns him from a dirty beggar of Dalit caste into a rich, educated, land owning Vellahla caste person, what on earth would stop him?
Which house would he recommend to his fellow beggars to go to?
What would happen if the poor mid size house suddenly refuses to give him anything? Would he not curse, attack, assault, ridicule, discredit and spit at it?
What if the poor mid size house invites him, gives him food, lodging, robs one of his kidneys and throws him out? Will he ever be fooled by the apparent sympathy again? Will he recommend it to his other beggars? Will he ever go near it again?

Herewith some ideas to deal with the ‘Tamil problem’, bypassing the TNA.
* To give a clear message to illegal migrants from TN & other places, GoSL will have to deport all those found to be illegal migrants. This is what is done in other countries too, so Lankans do not have to feel bad about it.
* Re Jaffna Tamil students, GoSL will have to make ALL students in Lanka (3rd Grade upwards, including University) take an Oath of Allegiance to Sri Lanka. If trained at a young age, the instinct to protect the people & country becomes strong. It is not too late. All the students in the N&E are students because of Lankan tax payer money. Tax payers are also Voters. When the govt. has been weakened by various others, then it is time for the tax payer/voter to voice their say to protect the country. One way is to have a Referendum on important matters, whatever the cost.
The Armed Forces, MPs, workers in govt. institutions, all students should take an Oath of Allegiance at least once a week.
* Basic education level (GCE A.L.) & Police clearance for MPs. No criminal elements must be allowed in Parliament. (In India, about a quarter of the MPs are ex-jail birds – so let’s not follow that example).
* Serious Family Planning has to be done both by Lankans and Tamil Nadu folk.
I am for all positive ideas to protect the country and for having good relationships with our neighboring countries, rather than have violence, over and over again.

I agree 100% that ETHNIC & RELGIOUS based political parties should be BANNED & by an act of parliament.Anyone WHO Promotes separate state or even WORDS like separatism MUST be banned as it gives rise to RACIST agendas.
An act of parliment with the present 2 / 3 majorty is quite legal & adequate to carry out this process. I am going to write at some length on Tamil Nadu because that is the land mass closest to Lanka and from where Lanka ‘Tamil problems’ come from.
Tamil Nadu, unfortunately, will continue to be that state of India closest to us, even though they are a part of India. Let us not forget that Tamil Nadu continues to, from time to time, attempt Separatism from India. When it suits them, some Tamil Nadu politicians say they are Indians; next, when it suits them they are Tamils encouraging Tamils to form a separate Tamil Nation, apart from India; next, they want a part of Lanka as a Tamil Nadu satellite, and probably parts of other countries too where Tamil low caste people have fled to.
They have some 5-10 Million Tamils of Dalit (Untouchable) origin there, all of whom want to escape the Caste System i.e. flee Tamil Nadu (India). Usually, Tamils convert to Islam (Muslim) or Christianity (mainly Catholicism) with some becoming Buddhists to escape Caste. While I am sorry for their plight, it would be suicidal for Lanka to attempt to help them by allowing illegal migration into Lanka. It would mean padding up political parties like the TNA and Tamil numbers in Lanka to warrant more and more power to Tamil politicians for separatism. That is why Lanka’s coastlines must be guarded forever. That is why illegal migrants from TN & elsewhere have to be deported.
Unless some plate shift happens and Nature kindly takes Lanka further and further away from Tamil Nadu, we are stuck with them as the nearest other land area to Lanka. Best study them closely and follow their attempts at erasing/not erasing Caste there, plus their attempts to acquire slices of Lanka. There is no free education in Tamil Nadu. I am not sure of Health Care there, but I doubt that there is free health care for all there. These are added attractions to come to Lanka.

Meantime, let the Tamils of Lanka enjoy what the rest of Lanka gets. Nothing more. Tamil people here must be given time to properly integrate into rest of society Lanka. To this end, a multi-ethnic N&E a must.
Now the GoSL is offering free passports to Tamils from TN refugee camps returning to Lanka. Earlier the numbers in these camps were said to be some 200,000. Yesterday’s LanakPage (5th Jan 2012), says the numbers in the camps are 60,000 +.
What is the correct number ? Isn’t it up to the govt. of India to give us the correct figure ? Shouldn’t the GoSL ask for the correct figure ? Why has the number dropped to 60,000 ? Is it to accommodate the illegal migrants from TN to stay on
here ? Does it mean we already have 140,000 (200,000 – 60,000), illegal migrants from TN here ? Is the GoSL going to use taxpayer money to re-hab these people in Lanka ? If so, we like to know how much is being spent and in on what items. The greater the transparency in this matter the better.
How do we know just who was truly born in Sri Lanka, or whose parents were born in Lanka ? Care must be taken as to who gets a valid Sri Lanka passport. Police records should be kept on these people, both in Lanka & TN.
Also, an Oath of Allegiance should be taken by these Tamil people who are given free Lanka passports.

Jaffna Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Saundaranayagam has informed a visiting British delegation that a political solution to the ethnic problem could be found only through dialogue with the Tamil National Alliance(TNA).
The Bishop made this observation when the delegation led by British Member of Parliament James Wharton met the Bishop at his residence in Jaffna on Thursday (5).
British Ambassador in Sri Lanka John Rankin, External Affairs Ministry Senior Counsellor at the Sri Lankan Mission to the UN Maxwell Keegal and Jaffna Government Agent (GA) Imelda Sukumar also accompanied the visiting British MP during the meeting with the Bishop.
The Bishop had said…….. the government must seriously consider devolving Land and Police powers to the provinces and also consider merging the Northern and Eastern provinces.
He had noted the Tamils will not be satisfied with the current development programmes initiated by the government until they were given their liberty to live in peace in their own soil.
While commending the development work launched by the present government in the North, the Bishop said though development is essential the local residents were still yearning for true peace and freedom.
He also told the delegation the government should take stock of the High Security Zones (HSZ’s) and resettle the residents in their homes that are situated within the HSZ’s.
He also placed emphasis on the unemployed youth and those still without homes……….

Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Saundaranayagam and Rt. Rev. Rayappu Joseph are NOT authorised representatives/spokesmen of the church. They are just two TAMIL RACIST bishops. Their bosses are without a backbone to control them.
Archbishop welcomed the LLRC report unlike Tamil racist bishops. Vatican never demanded war crimes nonsense. So there is no collusion between the church and Tamil Elam. A FEW Tamil racists within the church, parliament, even the Sinhala community (Bahu) and the army support TE. But that doesn’t make their entire community guilty of their crimes.

We seem to have continued the colonists policies of getting more and more Tamil people to COME to Sri Lanka. For what ? to work in the tea plantations ? Now there are tea plucking machines and any ethnic group can operate those. The only way Tamil people were sent back to Tamil Nadu was through the Sirima/Shasthri Pact, and that was abrogated by India in the 1980’s.
As far as illegal Tamil migrants are concerned, they are coming here to lose caste, first and foremost, and next to improve their economic status plus free Education & Health Care.
The state govt of Tamil Nadu still employs over 95,000 ‘night soil’ carriers, and this is the 21st century. Tamil Nadu is stuck in a time warp in this regard. If Sri Lanka wants to extricate itself out of this mess, GoSL has to deport illegal migrants. That is the only way that a strong message can be given to stop illegal migration. Illegal migrants are easy fodder for political parties like the TNA and Catholic Bishops like those in the North. A person (obviously Tamil) writing to the Lankaweb stated some years ago that “Sri Lanka is geographically a continuous land mass with Tamil Nadu” !! Now, if they have this mind set, we are sitting ducks for separation. Those illegal Tamil migrants who get free education here are grabbed by the TNA & the Catholic Church to work against Sri Lanka govt. and the rest of the People here.
* The only solution is to send back all illegal migrants as SECURITY ISSUE for whole of Sri Lanka, including true born Tamils, and see to it that no illegal migrant ever enters Lanka either in fishing boats or as tourists from anywhere in the world.
* Also, ban the TNA and all ethnic/religion based political parties.
* Next, make N&E multi-ethnic.
* Taking of an Oath of Allegiance for all in the govt. (MPs, armed forces), plus all students over grade 3 (including private schools).
Insist on the above through Citizens Committees, Millions of Petitions to Speaker of the Parliament, and also through a Referendum to the Voters of Sri Lanka. These are ways to protect Sri Lanka internally, and it is within the control of the Voter & the Taxpayer. That is true Democracy, where “We, the People” prevail.
I still maintain that we should watch Tamil Nadu politics closely, whilst ‘divorcing’ ourselves from Tamil Caste Issues. Of course, in the long run we have to go to the Indian Delhi govt. for all negotiations re Tamil issues that affect India as well. Also for joint security matters of the region, particularly piracy, narcotics/arms operations in the India Ocean area.

In my view, the Catholic church has become important in the North to break the Tamil Caste system, provide a mostly English language based education, easier access to migration and jobs. Some of these reasons are applicable to the South too.
However, both the TNA & the Northern Catholic church are subject to ‘take over’ by ‘high caste’ Tamils, so is there any genuine change through these institutions ?
In Tamil Nadu, Tamils who have converted to Catholicism complain that they still have to bury their dead in designated so called caste based burial grounds, as well as face other discriminations.
Education & Development with some Ethics & Morality is the only genuine change, whatever the religion.

What we need is unity among the Sinhalese and demand their freedom from Indian colonialism and imperialism. British are gone and Indians (Tamils) are still here.

Indian Tamils are working to INTEGRATE Sri Lankan Tamils into Tamil Nadu (not necessarily India) and the Tamil Nadu Economy to promote Tamil interests.
While we are trying to weld all people of Sri Lanka into ONE IDENTITY of a Sri Lankan People,
Indian Tamils and Eelamists are trying to into consolidate all Tamils into a Greater Tamil Nation.
If this CONTINUES UNCHECKED,the end result will be … a GREATER Tamil Nadu and a DISINTEGRATED Sri Lanka.
That was PRECISELY the GOAL of late unlamented Sun God of the Eelamists …. Velupillai Prabhakaran.

Now, even as they pose as a “discriminated against” loyal minority only demanding redress of their manufactured non-existent “grievances,” and “rights” other Sri Lankan communities do not enjoy, they are pursuing their RACIST SEPARATIST goals by economic union with … not the rest of Sri Lanka … but Tamil Nadu. In this quest India is merely a PAWN to be sacrificed and manipulated to attain their Tamil National Goals.
What then is THE SOLUTION to this PERPETUAL PROBLEM Tamil Nationalists create byleveraging the very small national minority of Sri Lankan Tamil residents of the North & East?
THE SOLUTION is OBVIOUS: DEMOLISH THE MAJORITY STATUS OF TAMILS in the North & East through SETTLEMENT of other communities in the North & East. and pursue a national policy of ETHNIC INTEGRATION to create a demographically homogeneous population.
Until that happens, the Sri Lanka Defense Forces should be stationed at INCREASED PREPONDERANT STRENGTH in the North & East and should ASSIST in Ethnic Integration. The Security and Integrity of Sri Lanka is still at GREAT RISK, and where the risk is great EVERY nation … throughout the world … stations its defence forces.
Just as Allied Troops occupied the Axis countries after World War II for many decades … continuing to the present time .. to preserve international peace, let the SLDF remain in great strength in the North & East …. and elsewhere in Sri Lanka … to preserve Sri Lanka’s peace … until the job of National Integration into ONE Nation, of ONE People sharing ONE Destiny is COMPLETELY DONE.
Let the Tamils enjoy ALL the RIGHTS enjoyed by EVERY Sri Lankan, and EVERY RIGHT enjoyed by ALL Sri Lankans, but give not ONE IOTA MORE, nor ONE IOTA LESS, to ANY person on the basis of his/her ethnicity.

Hint;-
If MR is hesitant to repeal the 13th Amendment (with his 2/3 majority) what chance has he got to ban a democratically elected TNA party?
Is the risk worth it?

The BAN should NOT be against the TNA ONLY .. for then it would be deemed discriminatory.
Instead, laws should be passed to target all COMMUNAL parties be they ethnic or religious in character and/or political agenda as organizations that undermine the peace, security and harmony in the country.
Under such a non-discriminatory law, all existing COMMUNAL parties … such as the TNA, JHU, and the SLMC … would be banned.
If they want to continue as political parties, then they would have to
1. change their party names to reflect their non-communal orientation,
2. adopt party constitutions that reflect non-communal objectives, and
3. carefully control their official pronouncements and programs to comply with the ban against COMMUNAL activities.
The GOSL in turn, would have to exercise OVERSIGHT by carefully monitoring, prosecuting, convicting and punishing all those who fail to abide by this law of the land.

We have always promoted this solution.

The yardstick of success is TAMILS MUST be a minority in the northern province as in the eastern province AND in Colombo CITY. Change the ethnic composition of the north by whatever means effective within a political framework of ethnic integration.
What Tamils call COLONIZATION is what is needed to be done with FORCE and determination.
Otherwise GREATER TAMIL NADU will be a reality soon. The worst part is it is achieved peacefully.

Now TNA has met GTF in South Africa (an initial supporter of the Tamil Elam movement). Expect more violence.
Although TNA is generally terrorist, there are 4 pieces of dirt who are leading it – Sampanthan, Suresh, Sumanthiran and another terrorist. As a short term measure these terrorist ring leaders should be jailed.

I strongly agree that the entire Catholic Community should not be held accountable for the transgressions of two RACIST BISHOPS.
However, the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church, which so strongly controls its religious leaders on EVERY OTHER ISSUE such as divorce, women priests, abortion, pre-marital sex, sexual abuse etc etc ad infinitum …. using defrocking and excommunication as punishments of last resort SHOULD and MUST be held accountable for NOT ACTING AGAINST these bishops … irrespective of the RELATIVE RIGIDITY of their BACKBONES.
They assume ABSOLUTE DIVINE AUTHORITY over their flock, and then offer outrageous excuses for inaction in highly selective cases. When they do, the Church opens itself up to HEAVY CRITICISM as it did when it condoned sexual abuse by priests worldwide … over 1000 court cases pending in California alone .. driving away from the Church millions of disillusioned Catholics from the Church they love.
This phenomenon of religious leaders who expect adoration from their followers but fail to live upto their expectations is not unique to the Catholic Church the largest of all churches; every extant established religion suffers from it.
More than the religious laymen, religious leaders should be held to a higher standard by the law, and SEVERELY punished when they stray from it. If the Church will not act, then let the Law of the land act … as it does in California against abusive priests.

Re: Sinhalese not settling down in the north willingly
This is not true.
1. Harsh climate – Except a very small stretch from Mannar to Delft, the entire Northern Province falls within the DRY ZONE. Hambantota, parts of Matara and Monaragala districts fall within the ARID ZONE!
For people in the ARID ZONE, the DRY ZONE is like the wet zone!
2. Water problems – There are NO water problems in Jaffna and Vanni districts! The island’s LARGEST underground water reserves are in Jaffna. You don’t have to dig deep to get water in Jaffna wells.
Vanni has more rivers per 100 square kilometres than anywhere else in the country.
3. When Father of the nation DSS settled people in the east under COLONIZATION schemes (for which we should be very grateful for him), came across many obstacles mainly within the Sinhala community. This type of losers should be punished as Tigers were punished. However, he did it.
Mahaweli the same story. Now what? Those people are there DESPITE LTTE attacks.
Based on the discussions in Lankaweb, Asiantribune, Defencewire, Defence Analytics, Sri Lanka Defence Forum, etc. the following courses of action have been arrived at.
What should GOSL do?
1. Give army families land from the north near army camps. They need not live there. May be there poor relatives, older people can live there. Then a momentum will begin. Register them in the north elections register to vote. They will not vote for TNA!
2. Give prime mining, farming, fishing lands in the north to Sinhalese. They will go. Expand these. Don’t touch flood prone lands.
3. Use agricultural produce, fish from newly created Sinhala villages (like this) to supply to the army. This way these villages will do better.
4. Jaffna has too many schools for too little percentage of people. Convert some of them to Sinhala medium near new settlements.
5. Follow Premadasa’s Gam Uthawa concept to build new Sinhala villages (Tamil villages are already there).
6. Give Sinhala speakers incentives in the north.
7. Resettle ALL Sinhalese and Muslims who were displaced with land. Doesn’t matter they live there or not.
8. Introduce Sinhala Thesawelamei for the north.
9. Stop illegal immigrants. Deny medical, educational facilities to illegal immigrants.
10. Encourage disgrntled Tamil Tiger cadres, etc. to leave the country. Some may leave as asylum seekers. With a few creative solutions, they may NOT necessarily reach their destination! They may lose their way and end up in Tamil Elam!
11. Ban all race based parties Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim, Moor, etc.
12. Divide Tamils into areas, caste, politics and rule them. NEVER allow them to unify. Unifying agents should be eliminated.
