TNA wants Northern Province governor replaced: Does anyone need to pay heed to TNA demands?

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Tamil National Alliance(TNA) yesterday called for ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-the Northern Province Governor Major General (Rtd) G.A. Chandrasiri to be replaced with a civilianƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, according to reports in the media on 23 June. Is there any reason to take the demands, threats and the lamentations of the TNA seriously? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The simple answer is ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-NoƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The TNA was born with the blessings of the LTTE, and as long as the military wing of the terrorist gang was playing havoc in Sri Lanka, the TNA served as its mouthpiece.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The bombings and explosions in Sri Lanka have ceased. The only manner in which the LTTE rump based in the affluent countries can continue to receive their ill-gotten benefits, either with the help of the misguided stances of local politicians or by forcing the hundreds of thousands of illegal Tamil immigrants, who managed to settle in these countries through bogus refugee claims, to part with a portion of their earnings and welfare benefits is by repeating the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”sufferings of Tamils in Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ ad nauseum.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The protests that were orchestrated by the LTTE when the Sri Lanka cricket team was in the UK clearly illustrate the modus operandi of the anti-Sri Lanka Tamils, who now enjoy citizenship in the UK and other EU countries. The people who really are the so-called victims ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the Tamils who stayed behind in Sri Lanka ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” never engage in protests unless and until they are instigated by self-seeking Tamil politicians or their financial and moral backers based abroad: they clearly are happy that there is no war, their children do not run the risk of being abducted by the LTTE and that they do not have to give one child to the LTTE to end up as cannon fodder in their fight for Eelam.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It is the armed forces of Sri Lanka that vanquished the terrorist curse that plagued the once-peaceful island nation for nearly three decades. If the government decides to have a retired army general in the North as its governor, it is only the Eelamists and their separatist supporters that would complain. Most peace-loving Sri Lankans may want the government to go even further: they may say that the entire North should be under military rule: after all, it is in the North that the terrorist curse saw the light of the day, ultimately becoming a killing machine that knew no bounds to its ruthlessness and ferocity.

NO … to replacing the Military Governor of the Northern Province,
NO — to giving the TNA control of the Northern Provincial Council,
NO — to removing Army & Navy and Air Force facilities from the Northern Province,
NO … to devolving Land, Police, Taxation, Education and Veto Powers to Provincial Councils, BUT
YES …. to ARRESTING, PROSECUTING, CONVICTING and PUNISHING the TNA Leaders for HIGH TREASON!

What next TNA?
How about demanding 1) Remove HE the President Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka
2) Remove Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa from the Defence Ministry
3) Bring in another one million Kalla Thonis from Tamil Nadu
4) Make Ranil Wickremasinghe the president of Sri Lanka
5) All Army & Navy and Air Force personnel to be confined to barracks for ever
6) Make Vaiko the minister of Defence
7) Make fat ugly Karunanidhi the minister of useless has-beens
8) Make Jayalalitha the Minister of retired and retarded loonies
The list can be endless.
Sampanthan, Sumanthiran and the rest of the Jokers must all be sent to Mulleriyawa for re-hab.
It is about time the entire TNA jokers are tried for high treason.

As per the Constitution the President, not the parties running for office, appoint the governor. TNA must learn to work with the governor who has shown sensitivity even to some absurd demands by the northerners. It is better for TNA that the governor is not an experienced politician.
Military presence in the north is a given. Ability to work with the military in the north is a definite requirement for the Councilors.

Since the Tamil National Alliance just recently sought the assistance of New Delhi regarding a national issue of Sri Lanka’s constitution and the 13th amendment the TNA has lost her integrity as a domestic political party and should be treated as an extension of New Delhi. If the TNA is making these demands it maybe because New Delhi wants it. For the very act of seeking India (who supported the Tamil Tigers) to intervene the Tamil National Alliance should be charged with treason and dismantled. Her leaders should face criminal charges and face a court and a new party that places the integrity of Sri Lanka above personal interests be formed.

The existing TNA is not a registered political party. In that case, if the TNA is not a legal political entity, how come they are allowed to ‘talk’ on behalf of Tamils of Sri Lanka ? This sounds like an illegal process.
Also, the Tamil Members of Parliament who run around as TNA members are breaking their Oath (taken in Parliament) to the People of Sri Lanka and the Parliament of Sri Lanka when they say things counter to the Constitution of Sri Lanka. These MPs get their pay, perks, pensions, etc. off the taxpayers of Lanka. How is it that they are running around making demands supposedly for Tamils, and against the Constitution and People of Lanka ? This too sounds like an illegal process.
If illegal processes are allowed to manifest, they will only come back and chew us all up.

In particular, with the LTTE resurrecting itself in Tamil Nadu, and Tamil Nationalists gaining strength at every level in India, it is IMPERATIVE that the Western, Northern and Eastern seaboards of Sri Lanka are guarded with military (Army, Navy and Coast Guard) camps within EYESIGHT of each other. That REQUIRES a heavy presence by the Sri Lanka Defence Forces, particularly in the Northern Province. This is a NATIONAL SECURITY issue that cannot be converted into a political issue to be negotiated away.
FAILURE to MAINTAIN SECURITY will INEVITABLY LEAD to another Communal War, as gun running, drug running, human smuggling, and commercial smuggling to raise funds for separatists, aided and abetted by both Tamil Nadu and Velvettithurai “Fishermen” BEGINS ANEW!
We MUST NOT FORGET the war that was ENDED just 4 years ago at great cost in blood and treasure, and must LEAVE NO ROOM for its resumption.
