After receiving a national intelligence report that the UPFA is on the verge of winning the election, .President Sirisena said, he sent that infamous letter addressed to the former President informing him that he will not be nominated to the Prime Minister post and then he removed party secretaries as well.
President Sirisena disclosed this at his first meeting with the elected SLFP MPs to the parliament.
According to the National Intelligence report he received UPFA alliance was expected to win around 110-113 seats in the parliament making it eligible to form a government with a highest number of seats won by single party President said.
President further claimed that the public remarks made by Danasiri Amaratunga who contested from UPFA, to the effect that they will disrobe him after the elections and also similar statements made by Wimal, Gammampila, Bandula triggered him to send this letter out of fear.
President further confessed that when he realised that the effect was not adequate, then he removed the party secretaries swiftly.

Mr. Sirisena lacks the educational background to be in this esteem position of the President. His decisions and actions reflect this. If the news item is true, then he has taken an inexcusable path to revert the course of justice for Sri Lankan voters. The electorate appears to be paralysed because of the absolute powers he wields under the present constitution.

Sira is only fit to be a Grama Sevaka not a President of a country or a party. If he is afraid of our politicians then how come he will face a situation like LTTE terrorism? This guy should be kicked out at once before he brings more shame to this country. He do not have education background or courage or a vision to my country.He will bend like Beckham when it comes to important issues like war crimes etc. Betel won because of one man and that is Mahinda Rajapaksa.It’s the truth. We gave our vote to him and still we can hear his words and the words of his supporters. He cannot leave the voter and do things as his party Boss needs. He must sit in the driving seat and control his team away from Sira if not no one will believe him or his team. The best thing he should do is to form a new party with people who loves this nation and fight these traitors to the end then only people who vote for them will follow if not no chance for them to win the next elections in any sort. Sira and S.L.F.P. let down the voter by appointing loser’s thru the back door to the Parliament which no one will approve or accept. All must get united to defeat all reactionary forces including Sira’s S.L.F.P.

If this report is correct then the UPFA must file a case with the Supreme Court asking for the declaration of the election as null and void. President my3 has deliberately used the powers of his office to change the course of election results. This is an extremely serious violation of the election laws and the will of the people. He had got the National Intelligence report which said that UPFA was going to win with 113 votes and in his panic decided to act the way he did. He is either mentally unsound in which case he must be removed from office or he deliberately broke the law which is a very serious crime.
