Peace in Sri Lanka

Dear Editor,

I have been reading the Lankaweb pages for about two weeks now and would like to congratulate the team for a fine effort at disseminating a fairly balanced cross-section of news about the peace process in Sri Lanka.

Please allow my letters to you to be shared with the Prime Minister and the cabinet so that my views, ideas and comments are for their consideration. As an individual, I am from the outside looking inside, and expressing fair, independent, non-partisan and valuable suggestions.

The Government website,GOSL, for the Prime Minister in under construction and I have not been able to contact the webmaster on the expected date of completion.

At this fragile stage of the peace process, only news that will build trust and confidence of the Government, LTTE and the people should be highlighted.

It looks like that proper channels of communication between the Government and LTTE have not been established.Until the Norwegian Peace Team initiates the talks it looks like they have to talk through the press and seek answers.

Ramalingam
