Gareth Evans - crisis expert and peace maker?

President of the International Crisis Group, Gareth Evans's declaration that any attack on the Tamil Tiger terrorists hiding in the Wanni can be a "potential case for global intervention in Sri Lanka" should be digested in its true context. Not only the song, but the singer should be scrutinized if we are to understand and evaluate his statement.

In a bid for survival and in pursuant of the continuation of pleasures of life that they were used to, some politicians after being forced to retire in disgrace, enter the realm of "The World Community", including even the UN. They "volunteer" their labour to draw hefty honorariums and perks ordinary people cannot even dream of. Three illuminative examples are Bill Clinton, Chandrika Bandaranaike and Gareth Evans.

Gullible people might believe Mr Evans is a crisis expert. But having lived for many years next to Gareth's former Australian seat, I believe otherwise. I know him well; I have met and discussed the Sri Lankan issue at his own office several years ago when he projected a cleaner face to the Australian people.

Gareth's public & private life tell volumes about what this pathetic man is up to. Let me give just a few points.

This "crisis expert", who preaches peace to us, earned the wrath of all decent Australians for angrily threatening another woman MP in the Parliament that she should be garrotted! Note, this was the Australian Parliament, not a parliament in an undemocratic banana republic.

It is a public secret that the Australian Labor Party (ALP) is well infiltrated by the LTTE. One of the notorious ALP MPs, John Murphy, once declared that his electorate was the "Tamil Capital of Australia". The clever LTTE agents man/woman the offices of many ALP MPs as volunteers and have won the confidence of the party, in general. Gareth was a former shadow foreign minister of the ALP.

Mr Evans is not a man of integrity, either. After an extramarital affair with another married woman, he had to publicly apologise to all Australians and his family. He retired from Australian politics in disgrace.

Well, I have told you what I know for sure about this caricature of a crisis expert. If you want to believe him, please do so. After all, Sri Lanka is a golden example of real Democracy.

So much so for the "Global war on terror". A poor country like Sri Lanka is not allowed to eradicate terrorism!
