PRANAB MUKHERJEE MINCES NO WORDS AND CALLS TAMIL TIGERS A TERRORIST OUTFIT BANNED BOTH IN INDIA AND IN SRI LANKABy Walter JayawardhanaIndias government has no confusion regarding the status of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) as a terrorist outfit said the countrys External Affairs Minister Pranabb Mukherjee during an interview with the private television channel NDTV.
The senior Indian Minister reminded that every year India asks for the extradition of Velupillai Prabhakaran from Sri Lanka and added that the LTTE is a banned organization in India as well as in Sri Lanka.
After 26 years of fighting LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran and his trusted IntelligenceChief Pottu Amman led separatist warriors are outgunned and surrounded by the Sri Lankan forces in a sliver of a land limited to four square miles.
Both are wanted by the government of India for the murder of former
Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi using a female suicide bomber during an
election campaign at Siriperumbudur , a suburb of Chennai in the state
of Tamil Nadu. |
