THREE LTTE FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED AT VAVUNIYA

Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Police Chief Jayantha Wickramaratne revealed at a police awards ceremony yesterday that detectives have nabbed three more female suicide bombers of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) within the last 24 hours.
This is the second time the former suicide bombers of the LTTE have been detected during a brief period.
Due to information obtained in Galle police detectives surrounded a house in Settikulam but one of them committed suicide by biting a cyanide capsule.
But the three suicide bombers yesterday could be arrested alive.
Due to information divulged by them suicide kits, large amount of C-4 explosives also have been found.
Wickramaratne was speaking at the 10th Sri Lanka Police awards ceremony assessing the outstanding services of the Police Officers.
216 officers came in for acclamation. Among them were officers who successfully arrested suspects of a 94.3 million rupees bank robbery within 48 hours along with the total cash robbed from Divulapitiya.
