PakistanƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s second largest cement maker D.G.Khan Cement Ltd. is planning to invest 10 billion Pakistan Rupees in starting a cement manufacturing plant in collaboration with the Sri Lanka government, the company said.
The CEO of the company Mian Raza Mansha said in Lahore that a two million ton plant has been planned.
The company has projected its sales to South Asia, where Sri Lanka is enjoying the benefits of a trade pact with India.
The Sri Lanka plant will supply Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh. India has a tremendous appetite for Pakistan cement but the sales are hampered due to transport restrictions.
