We, the ordinary citizens of this country, remember the days around May 18^th last year.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  While all those who love the country were jubilant, Ranil Wickramasinghe, the leader of the UNP was hiding in Europe. Although theƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  official statement of the Leader of the Opposition, congratulating the President and his security forces for defeating the LTTE, had mentioned names of the commanders of the Navy and the Air Force, it hadƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  failed to mention the name of the Commander of the Army, Sarath Fonseka (SF). This is an indication of the extent of his gratitude towards the services rendered by SF at that time.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

Ranil had to find an alternative route to reach home from the Katunayake Airport , via Minuwangoda, due to obvious reasons.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Mangala Samaraweera, on the other hand, had failed to appear in the Parliament, when the President delivered his historical address to the Nation after winning the war against terrorism. TNA parliamentarians including Sambandan were not to be seen in the parliament. I am not sure where the other people like Ravi Karunanayake,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Laksman Seneviratne, Mono Ganeson, Rauff Hakeem were hiding, but the environmentƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  was certainly not supportive for them to appear before the general public due to their own past acts (or Pera Karma).

Today, just after 7 months, a certain section of our population (mainly in urban areas ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”popularly known as Colmbians) appears to have forgotten all what we have achieved during the last four years (which we could not achieve during the previous twenty seven years under various regimes). The latest cries of these people are ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”badu milaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ (cost of living) and corruption, a sort of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”bada gosthara wadayaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ aiming to entertain immensely insincere and selfish groups in the society.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Rising cost of living and corruptions are everywhere throughout the world and is not confined to Sri Lanka. Short comings are there under any government including the so-called five star democracies in the world.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  No government of Sri Lanka was able to stop rising cost of living ever since independence.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The large scale corruptions, in every sector (including political, economical, cultural etc), was introduced to our country after 1977 with the introduction of free economy. These Colombians are trying to hide the fact that the government in power was able to keep the cost of living under control, compared to the rest of the world, while fighting against most ruthless terrorist group in the world and amidst economic recession throughout the world. These Colombians who live in their imaginary world are the ones who mainly responsible for spreading rumours of inhumane nature and cannot be expected from a civilized society, probably, with the intention favouring their candidate SF or to have self satisfaction.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  A most recent false rumour spread against the health of the Defence Secretary, who has done an immense service to our nation, indicates nothing but their level of cruelty. Thanks to these ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”bada gostharayasƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, the above ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Ranil and the clangƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ has got the necessary clothing to cover-up their nakedness before appearing again in stage to provide the entertainment.

According to a press report, Ranil has stated that mere kneeling down on earth and respecting the mother land along will not make a person a patriot.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Let us quote from an article written by ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Pro-LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and appeared in The Island few years ago, what ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”patriotƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ Ranil and his clang has done to qualify for the latest requirement to be a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”patriotƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ as defined by Ranil.

• The decimation of our intelligence gathering network in 2002 . This ghastly episode can have no parallel in the annals of Treachery to date. Neither Don Juan DharmapalaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s nor the Pilimatalauwe-Ehelepola combineƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s treachery in favour of the Portuguese and the British respectively, can equal the UNPƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s diabolic of the cream of our intelligence unit, LRRO (Millennium City), to the LTTE.
• Signing an illegal agreement with the LTTE leader Prabhakaran, the so-called CFA, loaded heavily in favour of the LTTE bypassing the countryƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s President.
• Having given the LTTE a claim over a large extent of territory, the Ranil and his clang thereafter wilfully and deliberately turned a blind eye to almost every LTTE violation of the CFA, genuflecting to almost every LTTE demand, ignoring the smuggling of 11arms shipments and helping the LTTE to bring in through the Customs, several items of military use, which reportedly included aeroplane parts.

On the other hand Rathu SahodarayaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s double game was well seen after their failed attempt to disrupt the day to day functions of the people by strike actions when the war against terrorism was at its peak. Ratu Sahodarayas only aim is to grab power by hook or crook since they cannot come to power as a party of their own via ballot.

We also remember the days of April 1971 and late 1980s. The Rathu Sahodarayas were experimenting with handmade petrel bombs to attack police stations to capture power from a democratically elected government in 1971 and again with Bheesanaya in 1988-89. Over 70,000 lives were lost as a result both those experiments.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It seems, Rathu Sahodarayas have not learnt a lesson from its past acts and are experimenting with another suicidal game once again via ballot.

The acts of Sambandan and the crimes committed by his loved master Velupillai Prabhakaran need no introduction.

Thus if culpability for the death and destruction in the country should rest with anyone, it must rest primarily with those who around SF today.

The way to prevent another disaster planned by these culprits is simple and rest on the hands of those who love the country.
