You see, I’m not a SLFP person, nor I have voted for MR before. What I meant was that we have to be vigilant in never allowing parties like JVP, TNA to break the country again. JVP is worse than the LTTE for I know what is communism and how such a system could break people, yes I repeat, break people. You must have seen how the LTTE broke people’s ability to think independently.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
SF should never allowed win, as he was the main candidate of the JVP! KI can write a story, how it would be, if SF had won, for UNP with its ailing useless leader won’t stand a chance with JVP’s onslaught, nor SF. He would have been a puppet president of the JVP commies. Most of the country didn’t understand it, for they have never seen what is such a commie land would be!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
There are things to celebrate;
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
* at least 60% of the nation knew how to say “Thank you!” for liberating this land from the murderous LTTE,
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
* that the unholy combine JVP-UNP-Mangala-Rauff H-Mano G-TNA was defeated
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
* that at least 60% of Sri Lankans were brave enough to standby the leader against “foreign intervention”. What did
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
SF asked, when he knew that he was defeated? He asked for foreign intervention!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
The rest, the prosperity would come in time.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Please believe me, the prosperity will come in time. I have seen countries coming out of utter economic chaos and made themselves better and better. Our Sri Lankans are good people, not my words, but words of people of foreign countries, who know how our people work. Our people need a target, and they’d achieve it with correct leadership.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
A good leader is followed by others, he doesn’t have to give orders. So, in my belief, MR is a good leader.
You see, everyone was worried about family, but what’s wrong with family being involved? In the olden days in Sri Lanka (hmm Ceylon) our families were very close. All family members helped each other and supported each other, so when I see MR’s family had gathered around him, its a nice feeling. How many family members get together these days in Sri Lanka?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Yes, MR’s win is celebratory for me. He saved this country twice in a short span. I was there when the LTTE was eliminated. The unbelievable sense of freedom that enveloped us is hard to explain. He beat the anti-Sri Lanka team this time, so its celebratory!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
I didn’t care much about UNP for its ailing policies, but MR defeated the JVP-TNA, Mano G combine, and that’s celebratory for me.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
The prosperity will come! It has its normal ups and downs, but the prosperity will come!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
Best regards,

I fully agree with you on the JVP. The hypocritical murderers. As an university student in the late 1980’s I saw them in their full blown destructive behaviour, only allowing their view and rule to hold sway in the universities, killing off opponents and intimidating anyone who dared to oppose them. Then it all spilt over to the public arena and they crippled the country. Finally Ranjan Wijeratne had to take a brutal path of action to eliminate the b_ _ _ _ rds. Now they try to be white doves of peace, my foot. I’m so so glad to see that the majority of the SL people see through these scum bags. They have been steadily losing whatever support they had in the earlier times. Somawansa is a murderer, and should be put behind bars. Why is he allowed to sit before the media and pretend to be a saviour of SL is beyond me. He has so much blood in his hands. If as he says Gota threatened him, I can fully understand Gota’s attitude here. I don’t agree with the threats, but I can emphathize with Gota’s feelings. Whatever is being said about the Rajapakses and their corrupt ways and abuse of power, one has to agree on one thing. That is, that there is no doubt about the Rajapakses dedication to their motherland. They stood up against all powers and allowed the war to continue until the LTTE was annihilated. I will be grateful for them for that. Taking money and allowing nepotism (as alleged) are, to me, crimes (sins) of the flesh. Those should be dealt with at some other time. What matters to me more (and to 60% of Sri Lankans it seems) is that the Rajapakses patriotism in the face of severe international pressure to betray their motherland to a bunch of murderous terrorists. They didn’t flinch in the face of it and and as a result we are now free from terror and suicide bombs and can now have dreams about developing SL to be a better country in every way. In contrast, we have a delusional and extremely immature General who goes about asking diplomatic missions to interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign land. What BS is that!!!! Shows the character(the lack of it) in the General.

Well said, pam. How true !
Sri Lankans are decent and peace loving, and if the JVP thought the country had forgotten their murderous ways and the terror they visited on innocent people, they were living in cuckoo land.

Well said Chanath. JVP should never be allowed to raise its ugly head again. The present day youth do not know what Somawansa and the like did in the 70s and late 80s. I know of sevaral innocent people killed in my own area. They are a terrorist group and people should be reminded of their attrocities they commited.
