Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama summoned acting British High Commissioner Mark Goodin to the Foreign Ministry to lodge the GovernmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s strong protest over the decision of the British Foreign Secretary David Milliband to address the London meeting of the LTTE front organization, Global Tamil Forum, a ministry press release said yesterday.

The Foreign Minister informed the acting High Commissioner that the Global Tamil Forum was an umbrella body formed with several LTTE front organizations working in the Western Countries with the agenda of setting up a separate so-called Inter-state Tamil Eelam state that was a threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sri Lanka.

He also said if the British Foreign Secretary had a sincere objective of assisting Sri Lanka to achieve amity among the ethnic groups he should change his decision to address the Global Tamil Forum as a matter of rejecting the LTTE separatist policy, the release also said.

British will try hard, every which way they can , to give rebirth to LTTE. The attempt ot legitamise Global Tamil Forum is one of those efforts. Milliband has already forgotten that he was chased out of Sri Lanka, ran home with tail between his legs.

Sri Lanka must never forget who the real friends are. In the hour of need, every Asian nation (except East Timor) was in Sri Lanka’s side. The European nations (except Russia) tried to destabilise Sri Lanka. EU and Britain in particular tried to save the terrorists with view of destroying the country.

If Mr.Milliban is so worried about human rights, he must address the situation in Iraq, where one million civilians were killed in the oil robbery. Are Muslims not human? Are Arabs not human? Are Arab children animals? Why are they murdered day in day out? When will the oil robbery stop?
