No doubt, human rights are high on the international agenda and a matter not to be treated flippantly. Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s record must be looked at from the point of combating and defeating a most dangerous terrorist outfit that concentrated its attacks primarily on the civilian population-its defeat brought peace and democracy to the areas which were under its control
Suddenly Ban Ki Moon without any representation from any country disclosed to subject Sri Lanka for inquiry has on his own decided to appoint a panel to inquire into human rights violations in Sri Lanka. Is it because his term is nearing end and he is up for re election? Does he want to court the votes of the western powers that desire Sri Lanka be penalized for eliminating terrorism? Ironically neither the Security Council nor General Assembly made such a request?
Last time Security Council voted 23 to 12 in favour of Sri Lanka on its human rights issue. The General Assembly would be embarrassed as Ban Ki Moon is silent against those rouge states that constantly and frequently violate human rights? The stiff message delivered from the 118 NAM members would alarm the Secretary General since he is counting the votes to be cast for him at his re election. Another from the 133 strong G77 will scare him more.
No doubt, human rights are high on the international agenda and a matter not to be treated flippantly. Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s record must be looked at from the point of combating and defeating a most dangerous terrorist outfit that concentrated its attacks primarily on the civilian population-its defeat brought peace and democracy to the areas which were under its control.
The US and the UK often stress on human rights on a discriminatory basis forgetting the violations in its client states. Human rights and democracy are their vehicles for propagating their agenda in countries that do not bow to the West. Nevertheless the deficiency is that Sri Lanka has yet failed to establish a strong internal mechanism to keep surveillance and prevent any human rights violations. The credibility of such an institution will keep the critics at bay.
Struggle to punish
The specter of war crimes will haunt Sri Lanka until the triumvirate consisting of the Diaspora, anti-Sri Lanka NGOs and the Western powers abandon their relentless struggle to punish Sri Lanka for defeating terrorism, which still continues to torment those countries that did not desire the LTTE to be vanquished.
These countries continue to be plagued by terrorism with which they have been grappling for years but yet has failed to comprehensively defeat notwithstanding the superior fire power possessed, sophisticated equipment at their disposal and the economic strength to combat terrorism. They never expected Sri Lanka with its limited resources to defeat the LTTE, which they were supportive, because of its ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-master-sirƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ approach to the West and Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s geo-strategic placement in the Indian Ocean.
In addition to losing a distant ally in the LTTE there is the desire to discredit Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s military achievements which they are trying to emulate but continues to fail miserably which brings out the worse of the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”green-eyed monsterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ within them.
The anti-Sri Lanka NGO FrontsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ right to survive in Sri Lanka depends on a continuing war to enable them to wave the white flag of peace and beat the peace drums which brought them great financial support from the West.

Sri Lanka should start by auditing the accounts of the Fpreign and local NGO’s to see where their money comes from and how it is spent. If there is evidence that they have been involved in anti national activities, they should be disbanded or deported as the case may be. We do not need these parasites anymore. The Western front should be defeated by aligning with asian bodies and voting out the BANKI MOON. Make sure the new SEC. Gen is impartial and non Pro – Western.
Today many of the World’s problems are man made. The Western powers and their greed for an undue share of the World’s resources is the reason for it. This should be settled by lessening the amount of Power they weild at the UN. Combined international action must be taken against warmongering states and not allow wars like the invasion of Iraq. This is a crime against International law and the culprits are getting away free without paying for their crimes.

It is time the Sri Lankan government tell all these LTTE lovers to go and fly a kite. The Sri Lankan people have given Mahinda Rajapaksa a two thirds majority to govern the country for another term because he eliminated the LTTE scum. What is all this fuss about a bunch of dead terrorist? Even if they surrendered, they would have been tried and convicted on numerous crimes and given the death penalty. To me the only good terrorist is a dead terrorist.

Fully agree with Siri’s observation that Sri Lanka should start by auditing INGO’s. Such audits should not be limited to funding but also should cover INGO activities, projects and goals. Also, SL should vet all INGO staff, check their claims to fame and do background checks. SL should make it difficult for the under cover agents from the West to come in and do whatever they want to do at the expense of SL hospitality.
The Govt. should also make public all that was uncovered about the INGOs during the final stages of the war. SL owes this to rest of the developing world so that they can learn from what these pirates were up to in Sri Lanka.

I heard Ban Ki Moon is shivering after NAM’s (non align movement) president’s objection for Ban ki’s move to appoint a panel of experts to advice him on Sri Lanka. Is he a kindy baby to get advice? Does he think appoint a US/ Euro men and women’s panel will solve our problems? He should know that 99% present Sri Lanka’s problems started after 1815 British invasion. They were in Sri Lanka 135 years but have they solved any single problem Ban ki Moon? To solve our problems we have appointed patriotic President Hon Rajapakse. He has a mandate for another 6 years.
UNO is not United Nations at all now. It is almost a U.S. Slave Nations Organization and almost like former East Indian Trading Company not in Batavia but in NY.
Doesn’t he know that his country is occupied US forces since 1945? Why can’t he appoint an experts panel to send these Americans from Korea for the sake of world peace.
If Ban Ki Moon is having an atom of shame he should appoint a committee to investigate the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan by U.S, U.K, Australia, Korea and NATO. These war crimes are the no 1 in agenda of UN at the moment. Since U.S and NATO involved Ban ki is scared to talk against them. Is he a man? Is he Ban Ki moon or Yankee moon?
Ban Ki Moon a puppet control by his directors. One string is with Yankee’s and NATO. The other strings are with Tamil Terrorists supporter Tamil Racist Navinathan Pillai and Global Tamil Racist Expansionists. That is why they defeated Mr Jayantha Danapala and elected Ban ki to UNO.
