It as been reported in the media that thousands of innocent people are unnecessarily dying in NCP of Sri Lanka, due to the consumption of contaminated water. Many more will have theirƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ kidneys, thinking ability and brains damaged due to consumption ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ water contaminated with heavy metals such as lead and contaminated withƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ toxic ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ weed killersƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and pesticides etc. Ref: http://www.lankaweb.com/news/items08/190508-6.html.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A recent CNN program indicated that farmers in Punjab are suffering from cancer due to consumption of toxic water ref. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/tech/2010/05/03/kapur.india.organic.farming.cnn
It appears that farmersƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in Punjab now want to move away from using chemicals and go organic, a suggestion made by me long time ago. Further details are in the references. We could learn from the farmers in Punjab and go organic instead of bringing misery to many.
