I just read your statement on the future of Sri Lanka when you addressed the World Affairs Council in San Diego on Thursday on the U.S. Policy in South Asia, and I am incensed.
You are quite lucky that diplomacy will not permit the President of Sri Lanka or the higher ups in the Government telling you that you are one ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Yankee son-of-a-bitch who still keeps on interfering in Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s affairs and using Sri Lanka as your voodoo doll to keep pricking needles on her.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Stop your crap Ambassador Blake!ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
HereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s what bothers me. You have the sneaky ways of pricking voodoo needles on Sri Lanka and I don’t like it.
The report says, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The former U.S. Ambassador to Colombo noted that the most of nearly 300,000 displaced civilians have left the welfare camps and begun to reestablished their livesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, leaving the audience to pull numbers from the air and imagining that the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Most of nearly 300,000ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, perhaps may be 5,000, or perhaps 10,000.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Why was it difficult for you to be a bit more honest and say, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-30,000 of the 300,000 displaced civilians are still waiting to get back to their homes and reestablish their lives and they are waiting for the Government to demine the rest of the land so that they can get back,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ acknowledging the kudos that the Sri Lankan government ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ deserves when the Americans who were effectedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by Katrina seven years ago are stillƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ livingƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ in Trailer Parks to go to their homes, and are spitting expletives at you smart alecs who have the habit of preaching to Sri Lankans that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-We are Holier than thou.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That is why the Sri Lankans will tell you, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-You Yankee son-of-a-bitch, keep your hands off Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚

DidnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t you know that 27,000 indigenous Sinhalese in the North who lived there for generations were terrorized with killings and bombings and kicked out of the North by the Tamils between 1971 and 1981?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ DidnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t you know that 100,000 indigenous Muslims were ethnically cleansed by the Tamils one day in October 1990 giving them 24 hours to get out leaving behind their valuables and gold at the nearest mosque, making UgandaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Idi Amin look like an angel as he gave 90 days for the Asians to get out of Uganda with a deadline of November 9th, 1972?
Here is the bottom-line Bob and preach this to the audience when ever you get on your Kentucky Derby horse believing that you will be a winner as these facts will give you the ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ winning formula for peace and stability in Sri Lanka,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ if that is what you want.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-It is important for the Tamil community in the North to accept the fact that the North of Sri Lanka belongs to all communities and just not exclusively theirs.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They might as well learn from the majority Sinhalese community in the South who accepted the Tamils as well as the Muslims and Burghers to represent them in municipal and provincial councils and in their state parliament.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This was well shown in the past by the majority Sinhalese when R. Saravanamuttu a Tamil and Rudra another Tamil were elected Mayors of the capital city of Colombo where the majority of the electorate were Sinhalese.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ So was another Tamil, one Nadarajah ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ who was elected Chairman of the Urban Council in the sacred Buddhist city of Anuradhapura where the majority of the voters were Sinhalese. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And there is another classic example when the Sinhalese community rejected one of their own people Dr. Marcus Fernando and elected a Tamil Sir. Ponnambalam Ramanathan to the Legislative Council in 1911.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In the State Council, R. Saravanamuttu, a Tamil, and later Mrs. N. Saravanamuttu were elected to represent Colombo NorthƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ from 1931 to 1942 which had a majority Sinhalese in that community through four successive elections. There was a Burgher gentleman, Pieter Keuneman who was Member of Parliament for Colombo Centre for many years where the majority of the constituents were Sinhalese and his Burgher community represented only 4% of the constituents.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It were not only the Tamils and Burghers who represented the Sinhalese, there were Muslims too who were accepted by the majority Sinhalese to represent them politically.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In 1977 M.H.Mohamad, a Muslim who was voted in as a Member of Parliament for the Borella riding in Colombo when the Sinhalese population in that riding were 70% and Muslims were 8%.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And there is one more case that I would like to cite where a minority community member was voted in to represent the majority Sinhalese in parliament. And that was one A.C.S Hameed, another Muslim who was for a long time the islandƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Foreign Minister.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He was elected for Harispattuwa where the Sinhalese had a population of 74% and his Muslim population was a mere 19%.
And I say that the Tamils in the North to better take a leaf from the southern Sinhalese and accept other community members to represent them in their ridings in the North, as such an amalgam is the sure bet to live in harmony with other communities. It is happening in the south where a million Tamils are living happily with the majority Sinhalese.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And what is amazing is that 41% of the population of the capital Colombo is in fact Tamils.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
Make the above spiel your pages of the political Bible if you want to be honestƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ when talking of Sri Lanka. Be honest and stop being a disgustingly vulgar trouble maker in Sri Lanka, and as I said earlier Sri Lankans donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t need your elephant dung caked all over them.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If you have difficulty with my suggestion, then Bob, my advice to you is to simply shut up when it comes to the Sri Lankan file in your job description as Assistant Secretary of State for Asia for the US.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As I donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t buy your crap, likewise nor would millions of other Sinhalese living in Sri Lanka and abroad.

Hey Asoka, you need to understand that this guy is a failed CIA operative and will say anything to cover up his failures. No doubt it is advantageous for the CIA to keep him on their books as a cover for their current activities in Sri Lanka.

If we consider the distorted and often fabricated statements that were issued by a few Ambassorders and High Commissioners appointed to Sri Lanka, especially by the UK, USA and Norway and those UN officials who visited SriLanka from the time of Ranil’s one-sided peace agreement with the LTTE, then, the only conclusion one could arrive at is there was and still is a sinister plan to divide SriLanka to either allow the LTTE or the Indian Govt to take control of a part of SL, with the foreign funded SriLankan NGOs and defeated politicians led by Ranil, acting as a Fifth-Column. One of the aims of this could be to send back the Tamil migrants who forced their way in to those countries and now causing major problems to those societies. Robert O’Blake’s statements indicate that he still is a key figure in the execution of that plan and therefore remained in South Asia to continue with it. Few months back Robert O’B let the ‘cat out of the bag’ when he stated that he always worked in consultation with the Indian Govt. Therefore, when Robert O’B or the Indian leaders talk of reconciliation in SL, they really mean, give what the Tamil separatists want, reverse the gains of the armed forces and ignore the rights of the other communities in SL, which includes the right to return to their properties the terrorists evicted them from or acquiring new propertes in Tamil majority areas in the North and East. How the East is included in their formula for reconciliation with Tamils is mind boggling as the East was never a Tamil majority province and remained mostly unpopulated after the sinhalese left due to the spread of malaria. We need to insist that Robert O’B and those of his ilk, promote equal rights for all SL Citzens, spread across the length and breadth of the country, including the sinhalese, the natives of SL, who long sufferred under the discriminatory policies of the Colonial powers since the 15th century and the JVP & LTTE terrorists in the past three decades.

Hi Asoka, This trend has become a joke. You are the best in conveying our message in style. It is quite evident that what ever they did in the past in trying to solve the problem of maintaning world peace is a faliure. To my mind the USA inviting to stage world war3 soon. Please keep attacking. we are behind you.
