Interesting article by Kumar Moses – How to Tame the LTTE Diaspora?

LankaWeb.
First it is important to analyse the objectives of the Tamil Diapora worldwide, mainly in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and what do they expect to win.
Since the Mahinda Rajapaksa government has taken an extremely civilised, balanced, democratic, fair and sympathetic position to settle the Tamil issue, including previous LTTE Terrorists, the displaced, The LTTE Dispora is on a limb right now.
The Tamil citizens of other countries are visiting Sri Lanka in large numbers to visit their relatives, kith & kin, devastated homes, in comfort and security. No complaints on that front.
There is no great cry for demanding a Tamil Homeland from those who are well flushed in Colombo or those who are getting assistance on resettlement in the North & East.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Muslims are also been looked after, except the poor Sinhalese who got displaced.
What are the objectives of the Rudrakumar group in USA?
Upon the defeat of LTTE and the death of Velupillai Prabhakaran, Rudrakumar lost his bee-line to the LTTE honeypot. Now he has to re-invent another line.
Perhaps a Government-in Exile?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This is old hat.
Getting Cardinal Malcolm Ranjit to create some dust? Perhaps. But look see what happened to the only ex-Genral Sarath Fonseka getting involved with LTTE Tiger sympathisers! Eating rice & pol sambol in Welikada Prison.
Trying to garner support from Erik Solheim of Norway?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I think the Norwegian government will think twice in getting another kick between the Royal Balls.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ If Erik wants to enjoy his Ministerial Role, he might want to reconsider the Sri Lankan political position with the Developing Nations and with the two power brokers China & Russia. China has no great love for political meddlers (with a hidden agenda) like Solheim, especially with his “losing” track record!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ India has no great interest in welcoming the “not-so-intelligent” Dosai Erik either.
Now to England. The Polish Jew David Milliband is out of circuit for the moment. His brother Red Ed, who professes “No Faith” is parading his typical Jewish smile, after he stabbed his own brother in the back, will not get his leadership to run upto the next election.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The blood of Judas runs deep in Jewish veins. Waste of time backing and seeking support from the Millibands for the Tamils.
The United Nations General Secretary Ban-ki Moon, aka Monkey Boon, has aptly demonstrated that his spine is as strong as an Asparagus stem in a bottle. The alleged disorganized corrupt mess the UN is knownƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ to propagate, has reduced the General Secretary to a puppet. Still harping on the Sri Lanka government against the Terrorist LTTE, Ban-ki Moon has not yet made any public statement on the illustrious achievement of the Rajapaksa Administration.
The Options
As a Public & Press Relations Consultant with experience in the UK, I forsee two options to counter the LTTE Diaspora propaganda.
The government has already deployed a top PR consulting group to handle the Promotion of Sri Lanka. Since the Foreign Ministry pundits in many Embassies have shown no talent for creating a favourable climate for Sri Lanka amongst its host countries.
1: The Negative Stance – Fight them Head-on.
This really is a waste of Time & Space. The Diaspora are like the guerrilla movement. Hit & Run. Causing indirect and collateral damage. They have no great Agenda except to create as much publicity for themselves. More sympathy they create, more funds they will generate from the Expatriate Diaspora.
Giving them fuel by attacking them, is a Counter Productive measure.
Let them burn-out their own fuel and energy.
Should be a Low Priority to take an defensive policy. Occasional offensive shot, yes.
2: The Positive Stance – Ignore them. Get into Top Gear on achievements.
The present positive policy of the Government of Sri Lanka is something every Sri Lankan should be proud of!
The most important climate is that – There is Peace!
With Peace comes Prosperity.
The Hambantota Port is a major achievement, thanks to Chinese assistance.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
A second international airport is on its flight path.
Governer of Central Bank is doing a commendable job, creating a massive positive balance.
Its music to my ears to hear that the Colombo waterways are now being cleared, shanties moved out, making a Little Venice in Colombo. The pavement hawkers should be more organized and cleansed up.
The well-known Sri Lankan chameleon Prof. Gamini L. Peries is performing well in his arena, making intelligent noises with some good politically favourable results.
He is a preacher with great talent.
The investment interest has had a good jump-start with the main governments around the globe taking a serious look into the developments.
The Sun-Sea in Sri Lanka should be promoted with more added value and the target market should be expanded to include the European Pensioners. Most pensioners in Germany and Scandinavia have a sizable disposable income. The Safety, Security, Culture, Handicraft, should also include the culinary delights, such as Lobsters and the Sri Lankan crab.
The positive PR programme should drown the propaganda of the LTTE Diaspora with a Sri Lankan Smile & Goodwill!
And now to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his second term –
May HE & His Family Be Blessed with Good Health to carry out the Leadership & Duties to give the citizens a Better Life!

Prof, I join you in blessing President Mahinda Rajapkse. I do not know why Sri Lankens living out side the country join in. Let’s leave the Cardina lone, I think there was something that the naked eye could not see. I think it was CARITAS.

I think all Sri Lankans should join in whether in or our of SL in wishing MR and his Family best of luck for decades to come, with that the long awaited prosperity and peace for all Sri Lankans.
It is a good article Prof!
