ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I was listening to National RadioƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s 7.47am news item today viz:

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Fran Kelly interviewed Ian Rintoul on the above issue, in response he reiterated that these people have been on Christmas Island for quite a long time even after they have been classified as genuine refugees. His quandary was the delay in ASIOƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s security clearance.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He built his dissatisfaction in the state of affairs quoting ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-We know that the ASIO security clearances can be done in weeks. They were done in weeks for the Tamils that were on the Oceanic Viking. If they can be done in weeks for the Tamils on the Oceanic Viking, they can be done in weeks for everybody else. Very sensible logic!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ However, when those Tamil economic cheaters were there, Sarah Nathan the Tamil spokes person for them was very effective, re-enacting heart bleeding sob stories of their little childrens sorry plight at the centre, how they sang sad songs back in Sri Lanka expecting to go one day to Heavenly country, looks like thereƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s no one of creative mind in the community of the present refugees to get the right influence of the government by tapping into their hearts to grant freedom for them.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s not only the sob stories, political subscriptions to all parties were also given to lock into their un-shaking support to get the Tamil refugees out of the detention centres. The bonding thus created in this mode has been so effective, their any protest, false propaganda are accepted as the Gospel truth.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s very strange to see, why even those who are responsible in deciding the fate of these refugees cannot feel the difference in canvassing of the representatives of these refugees to that of the Tamil representation!

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ One need not be Atomic scientist like those in Japan today to see what is lacking in the present refugees presentation. Evident abundantly money speaks volumes! Intellectuals, Parliamentarians, Clergy and whatnot will hire their voice in unison if the price is right.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Unfortunately the genuine refugees may have to suffer some more time at the centre, without any guarantee whether they will be granted entry to the country or repatriated.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I respectfully believe you will note what is missing for these refugees to get their freedom as oppose to that of the Tamils from Oceanic Viking or any other boat.
