India Should Settle The Jayalalitha – Karunanidhi Conflict Over Sri Lanka Tamil Issue Before It Becomes An Embarassment !

When Former Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam President M. Karunanidhi has appealed to his main political adversary Tamil Nadu Chief minister, Ms.Jayalalitha to stop targeting him on the Sri Lankan Tamil issue he seems to forget that he was once a champion of the Tamil Tiger terrorists who should guard his tongue and be cautious about his own brand of scathing attacks on Sri Lanka although the pair seems to indicate collectively being pandered to by the terrorist supportive Tamil Diaspora, some of whom are totally indifferent to the theme and have embraced the admirable efforts of the Sri Lankan Administration to address the needs of Sri LankanTamils.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Both Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha are said to be enthusiastically welcoming the resolution passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly calling for economic sanctions on Sri Lanka and labelling those who committed crimes during the war as war criminals an unsubstantiable witch hunt perhaps unless those liable belonged to the category of terrorists. they seem to fail to realise that their voices are tantamount to Voices In The Wilderness as The Indian Government is in all probabilities not just about ready to dance to their music as it involved protocols which seem to be beyond the comprehension of the two rivals now joining hands in calling for sanctions and investigations as it simply won’t pan out their way, India being committed to respecting the Sovereignity of Sri Lanka as well as upholding many joint treaties and agreements which call for collaboration and cordiality in the region and in their best interests both Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha would be better off changing their tune or putting a lid on it completely .
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Interestingly, Karunanidhi seems to be wondering why “several people” had chosen to make disparaging remarks against him while speaking on the resolution, which dealt with ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-attrocitiesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ perpetrated by the Sri Lankan Government on the Tamil population there. Attrocities which much of the world probably know are exaggerated and the culpabilities resting on the Tamil tigers whom the man supported unequivocally and for argument’s sake perhaps necessitated the action taken to quell and demolish the terrorists who gained momentum from the exhortations of the likes of Karunanidhi which should not be termed attrocities simply because civilian casualties resulted as in every case of similar conflicts and the casualties not restricted to Tamils alone!
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ For Karunanidhi to lament that all his initiatives aimed at bringing about an end to military operations had been described as a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-farceƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ or a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-fraudulent dramaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ by Chief Minister Jayalalitha seems deceitful based on the role he played in pumping up the terrorists towards the continuity of the insurgency. Mr. Karunanidhi should not be so bold as to even suggest that he “contributed to peace and welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils since 1956” which sounds like a joke and needs to be taken to task although for the record Both DMK general secretary K.Anbazhagan and he resigned from the State Assembly in 1983 in order to draw the Centre’s attention to the so called problem which some analysts believe was indicative of their frustrations that the Government of Sri Lanka was not being cowed down by the real attrocities of the Prabhakaran led insurgency and that India was not officially taking sides at that stage although there were indications of the importance of the Tamil Nadu Vote for the ruling party which was academic.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There is duplicity in the proclamation by Karunanidhi that he attempted to get the help of the Indian Central Government towards finding a lasting solution to the Sri Lankan Tamils issue through the 1990s where in 2008, the State Assembly passed a resolution urging the Union Government to arrange for a dialogue and help bring about peace through a political solution while there seemed to be sufficient evidence to suggest that Tamil Nadu had a hand in how supportive it was towards the Tamil Tigers who continued to pursue their radical ambitions which eventually failed .
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mr. Karunanidhi when saying that ” he had taken up the issue of genocide of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka quite forgetting the other ethnic groups which suffered, should also remember saying that he was prepared to sacrifice power if it could lead to the birth of Tamil Eelam, which seems to be a point of ridicule emanating from the Jayalalitha camp. She indicated that there was suspicion among the people of Tamil Nadu that Mr. Karunanidhi could be acting in support of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam which is no surprise if it was linkable to his dream of Eelam refered to previously where the path to Eelam was through internal armed insurrection by a terror group.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ For her part Ms. Jayalalitha who once asserted that the Indian Central government had no powers to stop the internecine war in Sri Lanka ( on a more rational note perhaps at the time) now seems to have relented her rhetoric where she has moved for a resolution in the T.N.Assembly appealing to the Central Government for action against Sri Lanka?ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ She must surely be in a confused state of mind to say the least or perhaps her election to high office has given her a complete turnaround of irrational albeit inspired contradictory thought.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mr. Karunanidhi has been quick to point out the transparencies involving Ms. Jayalalitha where she had once asserted that the Sri Lankan Army was not deliberately killing innocent Tamils and that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-it is quite natural that innocent people also get killed during times of war.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚by his interpretation. ” After saying so without any compassion, she had now chosen to move a resolution as if she was genuinely interested in the welfare of Sri Lankan Tamils and the war of words between the two seems to suggest that whatever their objectives the Indian Government needs to step in and resolve their conflict as it seems to be putting India in a spot as being dictated to by members of a State Assembly towards policy making and that too by two seemingly confused individuals!.
This being said it needs to be asked of India, relative to the panel of Ministers who recently visited Sri Lanka : what their mandate and motivations were if their presence was even marginally associated with interfering into internal matters concerning Sri Lanka? A Novereign Nation in the process of re-building hardly needing to be told how to run its affairs relative to the issues of the Sri Lankan Tamils beyond compounding them where if the issues are contentious to India perhaps invite them to take up residence in Tamil Nadu where the likes of Ms.Jayalalitha and Mr.Karunanidhi amongst others are probably waiting with open arms to welcome then!

Sri Lanka is preoccupied fore ever with the Tamil welfare. All other issues should be neglected.
It is always, Tamils don’t have this and that. Sinhala people did this and that.
People in the South suffer since 1971 from internal wars. Then ,had to leave North and East. Lot of service personnel and their families, assume they are OK.
Tamils are the center of the universe. Everybody circles around that.
That is the Sri Lankan politics.

He did not become very popular for saying it but Sarath Fonseka was spot on when he described politicians from Tamil Nadu as jokers. Or was he being a little too kind?
