Mohan Peiris slams US for threatening Sri Lanka
Posted on September 18th, 2011
H. L. D. Mahindapala reporting from Geneva
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ At a side-event at the UN Human Rights Council held on September 11, 2011, Mohan Peiris, the former Attorney-General, lambasted the American Ambassadress, A. Donahue, when she threatened Sri Lanka with ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-growing pressure from the international communityƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ if it does not demonstrate a willingness or ability to conduct an independent inquiry. In other words, America had already prejudged the outcome of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) and insists that Sri Lanka must obey the dictates of America or else…..?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The main thrust of the Western bloc is to downgrade and devalue the LLRC and impose an investigative mechanism with handpicked panelists of their own (like the Advisory Panel of Experts(APES) handpicked by the UN Secretary ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”General Ban Ki Moon) to produce a report that could be used by the West against Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s provocative statement threatening to interfere in the domestic affairs of Sri Lanka under the cover of human rights and international humanitarian law was met with a sharp response from Mohan Peiris, who using all his forensic skills, told America bluntly that Sri Lanka is ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-averse to being threatened into submissionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. He added in the same combative tone that Sri Lanka will not bend down to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-veiled threatsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He was emphatic when he said that he would not like to have US as his neighbour because when there is a domestic fight between the husband and wife US would step in to impose its will instead of reconciling the two parties.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ He warned America that such ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-veiled threats do not have a place in todayƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s society.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ As Peiris was giving a public telling off to the American Ambassadress, without mincing his words, an official whispered into the ear of Mahinda Samarasinghe, who was presiding over the session, that Robert OƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢Blake who was in Colombo had taken a more conciliatory attitude and was agreeable to give Sri Lanka time and space. This message was announced openly to the assembly and the American Ambassadress was told that there seems to be some confusion in the American policy in Colombo and Geneva.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This dramatic explosion took place when leading members of the Human Rights Council had lined up to back Sri Lanka. Out of all the international representatives present at this side-event only America and EU struck a discordant note by trying to lay down the rules arrogantly as if they alone owned the monopoly to dictate morality to the rest of the world. They were angling to get an international investigation. But their aggression was countered by China, Russia, Pakistan and Cuba ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” all of whom openly supported the initiatives of Sri Lanka in opening up a free and frank dialogue on the issues facing Sri Lanka.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The brief but significant events that unravelled at this side-event make it clear that Sri Lanka is in the middle of the incrementally escalating Cold War between the West and the rest. The coming shape of global politics was once again displayed in the high and mighty attitude of the West dictating terms to the rest, on the one hand, and on the other, the allies of Sri Lanka expressing confidence in the local solutions, without foreign interventions. They argued for time and space for Sri Lanka to work out its own formulas for peace, progress and reconciliation.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ China was most forthright in backing Sri Lanka when its representative told the assembly: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚Sri Lanka has suffered 500 years of colonialism. We were also victims of colonialism. We donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t need any external interference in our affairs. We hope there will be no interference in the domestic affairs of Sri Lanka too. Sri Lanka needs time and space for reconciliation and peace.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This theme of colonialism raising its ugly head was emphasized by Mohan Peiris and a participant from Canada, Ms. Ira de Silva. The negative reaction to the American AmbassadressƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ arrogant statement, as if America is high priest of international morality, was quite palpable. The impression she created in the assembly was that President Obama, despite his rhetoric, is now heading a neo-colonial regime to force dissident member states to fall in line with American foreign policy interests.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Diplomatic circles perceive the US-EU move as a part of the overall anti-Sri Lankan campaign to strengthen the hand of Navi Pillay, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, who is also pushing for an independent investigation. This US-EU-Navi Pillay combination has neither forgotten nor forgiven the shock of being defeated at the 2009 session of UNHRC which rejected the Western resolution to take punitive measures against Sri Lanka. On the contrary, it commended Sri Lanka for the humanitarian work done to rescue the 300,000 human shield used by Prabhakaran to save himself till the last moment.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ In the immediate aftermath of the war against Tamil Tiger terrorists Navi Pillay opened the first post-war session of UNHRC held in 2009 by urging the Council to take punitive action against Sri Lanka for violations of human rights. This high-handed action where she decided to dictate to the UNHRC what it should do was backed by US-EU who initiated the resolution against Sri Lanka. She has no mandate to dictate to the UNHRC what course of action of it should follow. It is her duty take instructions from the UNHRC and not vice versa.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Both US-EU and Navi Pillay felt jilted when the UNHRC rejected their anti-Sri Lankan resolution. Ever since then she has acted viciously against Sri Lanka like a women scorned. Nor has the US-EU combination stopped its campaign to get even with Sri Lanka for defeating this big power bloc at the UNHRC in 2009.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Predictably, Navi Pillay opened her latest statement to the 18th session of the Human Rights Council by naming only Sri Lanka but not US for consequences arising from ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-counter-terrorist operationsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. She mentions in her speech that ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan the killing of civilians by opponents as well as by governmental and international forces engaged in counter-terrorism operations, continue to be a major concern.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ But she does not name ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-the successive governmentsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ of US as the primary source of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚undermining independent institutions, violating human rights and the rule of lawƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan, not to mention the Middle-Eastern countries before and after the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚Arab springƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚. Her bias comes out openly when she picks only Sri Lanka as her example of a bad case of engaging in counter-terrorism.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Of all the nations engaged in combating terrorism, including US, which is spear-heading the global anti-terrorist campaign, why has she named only Sri Lanka? Diplomats interpret this as a sly move of Navy Pillai to focus on Sri Lanka as the first step towards paving the way to put Sri Lanka on the dock and not US which has acted with impunity in combating terrorist enemies of the US globally. If she was even-handed she should have mentioned US too which has been the primary source of violating human rights in wars combating terrorists ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” from rendition, torture, passing the Patriotic Act, to crossing international borders violating international law and assassinating Osama Bin Laden without giving him a fair trial etc. But the crimes of US are glossed over as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-international forces engaged in counter-terrorism operationsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ and she decides to cite Sri Lanka as a bad case. Is her vision that blinkered to avoid seeing the big picture on the global map of terrorism or is she brain-washed only to see what is shown to her by her political masters?
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Besides, the unfolding events indicate that there is a current underhand move to use Navi Pillay as the paw to pull out the chestnuts of Ban Ki Moon and US-EU manipulating jointly to force an international investigation into the last days of the war against Tamil Tiger terrorists. Mahinda Samarasinghe exposed the secret plot of this gang to the Council members of the UNHRC session. According to him Ban Ki Moon has passed the buck to Navi Pillay saying that he doesnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t have the powers to deal with the report of the APES which he (UNSG) appointed.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ This move is like providing ladders to leaping monkeys: it makes their tasks easier. Armed with this report of the UN APES, Navi Pillay will be assiduously exploring avenues to undo what the 2009 session of UNHRC did in rejecting her proposal to take action against Sri Lanka.
In terms of procedure the matter should have ended in 2009 when the UNHRC commended Sri Lanka for its benevolent humanitarian action in saving nearly 300,000 Tamil IDPs ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” including the elderly parents of Prabhakaran, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚the latest Pol Pot of AsiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, (New York Times, June 25, 1995). But the vindictive politics of Navi Pillay and the US-EU combination is bent on increasing international pressure until Sri Lanka caves in.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Sri Lankan delegation to the current 18th session of UNHRC is waiting with bated breath, not knowing whether a resolution will be tabled against them or not. So far (13th, September, 2011) there are no signs of such a move. But diplomatic circles are certain that the West, jointly with the Navi Pillay, will manipulate to get one on the table if they feel that they have the numbers to push it through the UNHRC.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A significant aside at the current session is the rather docile tone of the representatives of the Tamil expatriates. In the past they used to invade the UNHRC sessions in full force with American and British backers of the Tamil Tiger terrorists campaigning aggressively in the lobby, cafeteria and inside the sessions. This time the lobbying cadres were limited to three visible representatives of the European Tamil expatriates: Fr. S. J. Emmanuel, head of the Global Tamil Forum in UK, Kirubakaran of France, and Gary Anandasangaree of Canada.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Fr. Emmanuel appeared to be conciliatory though he is leading the anti-Sri Lankan campaign in Europe. In a conversation with me he was emphasizing the need for a dialogue to resolve differences. He emphatically denied he was for the Tamil Tiger terrorists. When I pointed out that he wrote his book, Let my people go, to lend his moral, religious and political support to Prabhakaran after the Tamil Tigers forcibly herded the Jaffna Tamils into the Vanni, which he compared to Moses leading the people out of Egypt, he denied that he supported the Tamil Tigers or wrote anything against Buddhism or any other religion.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When I asked him how he proposes to meet his Maker wrapped in the obscene Tiger flag of Prabhakaran, with a snarling Tiger putting his head out of a ring of 33 bullets crowned with fixed bayonets of two crossed guns, he dodged it with a shy smile. He, however, went out of his way to blame the Churches ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the only nation-wide institution which had bases in both communities — for not building bridges between the two communities. He added that he had raised this issue with Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith who was his pupil.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I asked him how the Church could build bridges when it allowed the Holy Mary statue to be hijacked by the Tamil Tigers into their territory depriving the Sinhala Catholics of sharing it with all other Christians he smiled again and said: ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-What we have to do now is to build a united Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Can Fr. Emmanuel, the former Vicar of Jaffna, who once said that he was first a Tamil and second a Christian, and also compared Prabhakaran to Jesus Christ the liberator, change his stripes? At the height of PrabhakaranƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s power he along with Bishop S. Jebanesan promised to write an exclusive theology for Tamils as if the Jaffna Tamils were the chosen tribe of the Christian God. They have not produced such a document as far as I know. Perhaps, the loss of political power may have cast doubts as to whether the likes of Prabhakaran are children of God or Satan.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Anyway, I was somewhat taken aback to hear Fr. Emmanuel calling for ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-a united Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ Before I could say ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’†’ƒ¢¢”š¬…¾menƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ to that we were disturbed with calls to have a cup of tea with ulundu vadai and patties and sandwiches for lunch.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Anyway, if Fr. Emmanuel genuinely means what he says (we have to assume Catholic priest at that level never tell lies) then there is hope for a united Sri Lanka where the old and divisive politics of separatism have come to an end for good.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The time of Prabhakarans has come and gone. Deluded Tamils in the diaspora are still hoping he would rise from the grave and re-visit them. But even Fr. Emmanuel knows that there has been only one Lazarus so far. Not all the theologies and poojas of Jaffna Tamil priests can make Prabhakaran rise again. And the gospel truth is that that the peace-loving peoples of Sri Lanka would unhesitatingly say ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-AmenƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ to that!

This article explains why Sri Lanka has these enemies.
So, Tamils will be the sacrificial lambs for them. West knows what is good for everybody. So, they thrust it upon us.
If we don’t accept it it will be something like “Arab SPRING” for us too.
This is still colonialism in operation. The only difference is for different needs.

I think, Only the hindu tamils should be allowed to govern Yapapatuna tamils.

Sri Lanka should have comprehensive discussions with India; dismantle 13th amendment and should go with what the west want.

Western imperialists have their own (secret) agenda and attempt to decieve the world. In the recent case of Libya, they said they want to protect cilvilians but the real agenda was regime change and access to oil. In the case of Iraq, they invented WMD to deceive the world. West may want to control sea lanes around Lanka. So a divided Lanka would help them. We need to develop good ties with friendly countries and inform the world te true situation in Lanka and how terrorism was funded by the West. Sinhalese need to wake up and get active in the economics and business field.

Good write up HLDM.
UNHRC summit goes till 30 September. We have to put off this nonsense against Sri Lanka.

Dear Mr. Mahindapala!
Sri Lanka bashing is nothing new.. We have seen how the West pampered LTTE & their front organizations which they still do. Desention, Conspiracy are know words in their vocabulary.. Peace & Harmony are just soothing words when those words benefit the West.
We have no time or energy to go into HUMAN RIGHTS as played like a football ONLY to harass & intimidate small countries like Sri Lanka, when the most western cvountries continue to practice very little what they preach when it comes to BASSIC Qulaity of Life. I am referring to 30 Million Americans who are unable to access Health Care as a right. I am also speaking about Aboriginal peoples in both USA & in Canada, where basic necessities such as pure drinking water, acceptable housing, education to name a few are non existent.
Why don’t they apply the same logic when it comes to welfare of their own citizens. Why is that Sri lankan populace is so relucatnat to speak up, against these monstrous accusations against ONE country, the only country who defeated TERRORISM.
Is it beacuse with their immense Economic & Military power and military pacts with Europe & some other countries collectively FAILED to do so. Mrs. Balasingham, wife of Anton is still under very care & protection of British.
No one has yet asked for prosecution of her & remnants of LTTE still. I would like to see Sri lankan population be more proactive, engaging in what is happening to our Motherland. True most Sri Lankans living in the Island have enormous problems living their day to day lives.
At least the educated & well to do should get involved when the country is attacked by certain groups in media foreign & domestic, not to mention goverments that still have a compassionate feelings to these terrorist sympathisers.
Thanks very much Sir, for your thoughtful contribution. Please continue to speak up when issues pertaining to our Motherland.
Sincerely…….Gamunu Alahakkone. P. Eng ( Canada), C. Eng (UK),,Retired Engineer- Canada.

Who dares to speak?

NaviPillai is a lost cause running around like a woman possessed. However, I was happy to hear that Fr Emanual. who has been at the UNHRC venue, has stated he is campaigning for a united SriLanka. We must hope that Fr Emmanual is being truthful. Out of all the bad intentions of the Evangelist dictated Western nations towards SriLanka and the South Asian region, which tried to carve out another “East Timor” with Prabakaran’s help, what we now hear from Fr Emmanual is very good news for the future of SriLanka. Fr Emanual must have realised that the Tamils in Sri Lanka are mainly Hindus who have a close bond with the mainly buddhist sinhalese and the Tamil Hindu clergy never supported the Tiger terrorist movement. Without this support of the Hindu clergy, Tigers have no place in the SriLankan society, unless of course they take up armes and forcefully subjugate the prople like they did before. Anyway Father Emanual’s role during the conflict may have to be investigated for crimes committed against humanity as wanted by the West.

At present, GOSL plays a defensive game what Tamils and what the West wants. That will not work. GOSL need to play a different game. As a step in that direction, GOSL need to cancel 13th amendment.
Because, Tamils will not stop their tribalist game. Others want stop helping Tamils or talking for Tamils. Mahinda Rajapakse is not eternal. Some one will bend for what the Tamils and what the west want. That is why concrete steps are needed.
See how Israel exists. Compare that with India and Sri Lanka.

Mr. Mohan Peris is correct in saying USA is threaning us directly.
I always tell here that this LTTE problem was the creation of USA/UK. Blake opnely claimed in the Congress that Sri Lanka must be under the control of USA to serve the so called “American Interest”. But traditional Sinhala racists bark against Tamils, India, Hindus an so on!
If Sri Lanka want to live without threats from WHITE CHRISTIANS, Mahinda @ Co must divert their attention to the agents of the WHITE CHRISTIANS in Sri Lanka.
Sofar SL High Commissioner never lodged any complaint against ADALE BALASINGAM in London but apologized to the damn British for the remarks made by Dayan Jayatillake! Appeasing WHITES never help and they naturally conclude it is the weakness of Sri Lankans!
Now the threat is public and Blake was in Jaffna and barked against Douglas Devananda. What is on earth happening!
Now the creators of LTTE confront Sri lanka publicly! Will Mahinda survive these threats or fall at the feet of WHITE CHRISTIANS and dismiss Mohan Peris?
September 18th, 2011 at 6:45 pm
No Mr Mahindapala. We need a UNITARY SL not a united SL.
So Malcolm Ranjith is a pupil of Emmanuel!
Bloody hell!
If the chief Mukti of USA happened to be the pupil of OBL, will the US government allow him? NO WAY. Then why do we allow Emmanuel’s pupil to lead part of the people to hell?
Gary Anandasangaree is the son of V Anandasangaree the TULF leader who pretends not to know how to count to ten! He shows his sad face that looks like a f-ed up gorilla a* and tries to get this and that from the govt. How we know.
Looks like all the traitors are inter related!! Father-son, teacher-pupil, husband-wife, gay partners (Ranil-Praba), etc.

” But traditional Sinhala racists bark against Tamils, India, Hindus an so on!”
This is some of the funniest talks, I hear, in Sri Lanka.
Sinhala people cannot talk about Tamil tribalism or how to save us from it. That becomes racism. But, Tamils all the time and through out their lives lived on racism asking everything in Tamil.
So, just become a Sirisangabo king until the head is separated from the body, that is the greatness.

The Sri Lankan Govt. has good reason to be concerned about the way these matters have been handled by the UNSG in contravention of established procedures, thereby creating dangerous precedent for UN actions that blatantly contravene the “Neutrality” of this world body, and creating mistrust in an office that has been vested with the specific responsibility to protect world peace.
If allowed to proceed without address and correction by the General Assembly, it would mean that one-sided, biased reports that do not permit fair and adequate hearing of both sides of situations, would become common practice. The raison d’etre of the UN would collapse if matters are allowed to proceed in this unprincipled way.
What is needed is for the UN to appoint a body to study and recommend procedures on how to deal with terrorist/insurgent groups that use civilians for their protection, irrespective of the goal of these non-state actors .
This was what was expected from the Darusman Report, instead of which the Panel turned it into an attack on Sri Lanka, and neglected the main issue – that of putting civilians in harms way by Non-State Actors.

Moses leading the slave Jews out of Egypt, he could not reached the “Promised Land”. So Prabhakaran also could not reached or give his people his promised dream home land.
Those ungrateful Jews after settle down in Palestinian Land what they did shouted Romans to Crucified the Jesus. Up to date ungrateful Jews for their sins are fighting with Palestinian after occupying in their land. Mr. [ Fr]. Emmanuel Sinhalese people do not want to fight with Tamils same as Jews for ever. Therefore Emmanuel you keep your satan Prabhakaran as your liberator without insulting Jesus Christ. You can meet Prabhakaran in next birth in hell. Next alternative is to look in Tamil Nadu for your “Promised Land” and you can take all tamils back to TN from where they came and keep Sri Lanka free.

If any country or people should be saved by the West it should be Palestinians suffering in Gaza for decades as a result of Israel. What does the USA do instead – it vetoes Resolutions brought against Israel in the UN.
Since the 1950s Western imperialists have been in the business of regime change, assassinations and propping up client states to pillage the wealth of nations.
In 1953, the UK and the USA overthrew the democratically elected government of Mohammad Mosaddegh of Iran. The coup was orchestrated by the intelligence apparatus of both countries after Mr Mosaddegh nationalized the oil industry that was controlled by foreign interests. They set up Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi (the shah of Iran) as a puppet authoritarian ruler who relied heavily on USA’s support.
In 1961, in the Congo, the USA in collaboration with Belgium plotted the overthrow and subsequent murder of Patrice Lumumba—the country’s first post colonial prime minister—and installed Joseph Mobutu who served the USA for more than 3 decades until his own demise at the hands of the US President Clinton’s administration backed proxies, Rwanda and Uganda. The war caused the death of 6 million Congolese.
In 1966, Ghanaian independence leader Dr Kwame Nkrumah was deposed by the USA using ambitious enemies from within Ghana while Dr Nkrumah was abroad in China on a peace mission attempting to mediate the Vietnam conflict.
Another gross example of the USA’s meddling in the affairs of others was the September 11, 1973 ousting and assassination of the legitimate, elected government of President Salvador Allende of Chile. The coup d’état was organized by the the US President Nixon’s administration and Chilean military, ushering in the brutal dictator General Augusto Pinochet. These are only three examples out of many that can be named as examples of USA’s pursuit of wicked foreign policy objectives.

Evil world of white war mongers of US-EU combination will try everything to get our President on line with them but with grace of god we have a man who never bends like david beckham but by any chance if we had that gayboy Ranil on top Navin Pillai- Blake lovers of L.T.T.E would have got married and have children in Jaffna city by now.
We need to be more vocal against these hypocrits and show tough with the help of our friends around the world. Our Government should send emissaries to every friendly country and explain our position and invite them to see the country now after thirty years of war and show them what those monsters have done to our Motherland and to it’s peoples. Tamils are better of now than under the murderer Prabakaran and they should appreciate what this Government has done and doing and say to the world loud and clear to hands off SRI LANKA our Motherland and mind their own business.

Some comments on the ongoing ‘threats’ faced by Sri Lankans :
(1) UN: UNHRC’s Head, Navi Pillai is a Tamil person who has let this fact bias her judgment on Sri Lanka issues. Is she suited to judge Sri Lanka issues ? She may be more concerned for the welfare of Tamil Nadu than any other place.
(2) Fr. Emmanuel, Ranil, et al : Only time will prove if we can trust them. If Plan A failed, surely there must be a slower Plan B ?
(3) West : Yes, it is the Sea Lanes, and control of India and the rest of SE Asia.
(4) Sri Lanka is small and as such easier to bully.
Faced with such problems, let us “close the stable doors before the horses escape”. Put Laws & Regulations in Sri Lanka to safeguard the land and the people, and mechanisms to safeguard life at grass roots levels.

HLDM, as soon as I read this, I smelled a rat.
That MF Fr. S.J. Emmanuel is now playing the subdued, pious holy-man role cunningly to deceive the unsuspecting with terms like “united Sri Lanka” is all too evident – as the LTTE rump’s objective right now is not to go overtly for separatism, but to first pin the “war crimes” on GOSL, which they see as the badly needed catalyst to start ushering in their separate state eventually.
Additionally, I am sure he and his other LTTE hardcore compatriots have been advised by their supporters in the west (their supporters in the western governments, INGOs, etc.) to tone down their earlier arrogant/aggressive dispositions that won them over a few and lost many.
The bottom line:
These vile rats CANNOT BE TRUSTED and should be REGARDED AND TREATED WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE!
These vile rats have screwed us over and over again, over the past 2000 years with these kinds of wolf-in-sheep-clothing cunning ploys and it is time we should have learned some hard lessons and screw them royally ourselves!

My veritable anti-LTTE compatriot, “Pol Sambol” articulated his suspicion even better with the following in Sri Lanka Defense Analytics Blog and I re-print it here (with his blessings) for greater efficacy in driving home this point:
Re. HLDM’s observation that “the rather docile tone of the representatives of the Tamil expatriates” and “Fr. Emmanuel appeared to be conciliatory” at Geneva,
Pol Sambol said:
This is more to do with them thinking they have scored a major victory following the Channel 4 bs stories. They feel they have “regained” the “moral high ground” (as if they had it before) and their “point” has been “validated”. All the mad protests (post and pre May 2009) was to “undo” all they had loss (on the battlefield) and they know they pissed off a lot of people i.e. the ordinary suddhas (who’s support they feel they need). Their decrease in activity (at places like Geneva, UN etc) is more to do with them feeling they have “reversed” everything they have lost since 2006. For them the Channel 4 crap (which they spent 2 years making carefully piecing together, setting the tone, music, narration –all funded by the British Gov/FO) is a major “achievement” in their war against SL.
This is not a case of them giving up (as witnessed between May 2009 till Fonseka’s filthy mouth of December 2009 –where they did not make a massive ruckus in July as they were CLEARLY defeated and demoralised along with the West, its media and NGOs all of whom were on the verge of giving up till Fonseka opened his mouth, re-energising them and giving them an opening).
They feel they “do not need” to fight it out as before because they have “won” and “the rest” will play itself out. They feel vindicated and once more “proven” to be the “innocent victim” after having lost this “status” following their actions in world capitals that angered so many and “lowered their standing” (in addition to losing the LTTE which was their “pride” and “symbol” of power). For them they feel/believe they have re-gained lost ground and gained more (including “demoralising” Sinhalese –through the “power” of c4 bs propaganda- like they used to do back in 2002-2008 with the LTTEs “power” and propaganda tricks + horrific massacres of Sinhalese which they revelled in).

They feel vindicated and once more “proven” to be the “innocent victim” after having lost this “status” following their actions in world capitals that angered so many and “lowered their standing” (in addition to loosing the LTTE which was their “pride” and “symbol” of power). For them they feel/believe they have re-gained lost ground and gained more (including “demoralising” Sinhalese –through the “power” of c4 false propaganda- like they used to do back in 2002-2008 with the LTTEs “power” and propaganda tricks + horrific massacres of Sinhalese which they revelled in).
