Let me roll the days back for you to 37 months ago.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The day was a Saturday, the 30th of August 2008.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It was a sunny day during the waning days of ScarboroughƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s (Ontario) summer.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The leaves outside the Scarborough City Centre were still in their foliage green.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And Scarborough as you may recall was really a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Little JaffnaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, and you were right at home in that city, with thousands of Tamil refugee-immigrants roaming the streets, ladies in saris with red thumbprints between their eye brows., the streets lined up with ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Mini-Malls with sari stores, Tamil grocery stores, jewellery stores, Kottu roti Curry Huts, Thosai boutiques, you name it, and you had it all that you were used to in pre-Eelam War, Killinochchi and Jaffna.
And you and I had been invited to attend the special meeting of TorontoƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s Sri Lanka United National Association (SLUNA).ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ One of the chief guests was the wife of the late Lakshman Kadirgamar whose life was snuffed out by a Tamil Tiger, even though he was a Tamil like you. She had arrived from Sri Lanka. The other chief guest was Palitha Kohona who had also travelled from Sri Lanka to deliver the key note speech.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ We both enjoyed the honour of being ceremonially escorted to our seats to the sound of Magul Bera percussion beats with the rest of the VIPs.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ And you addressed the gathering.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Remember? By then I didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t know you other than following your story of the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-alleged persecutedƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ Tamils who flew out of the KohaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s nest when the foreign flood gates were opened after the July 1983 riots in search of green pastures, which looked far better than the green chilli and red onion fields of the North.

After I gave an ear full to Yasmin Ratansi, the former Liberal MP for DonValley East, who was seated at the immediate right of Palitha Kohona, for ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ her Liberal party being vulgar and morally irresponsible for letting your Tamils in Ontario collect two million dollars a month for 13 long years to stuff the Tamil Tiger war-chest to buy lethal war weapons to kill my Sinhala people.

Basically, this is a trend as far as I am concerned.
Yes, I am NOT surprised that these Tamil RACIST-SEPARATIST SCUM will utter all kinds of niceties to us when it suits them, but soon thereafter when they reach their own TAMIL RACIST COMFORT ZONES (i.e. manifested such as in this case where this “Veerasingham” RACIST-SEPARATIST SCUMBAG found it cozy and quite natural-to-be-in-company with the well known TNA LTTE proxies AND go to India AND embark on vile racist attacks against the majority Sinhalese of Sri Lanka) they show their true colours!
This is a lesson for us Sinhelas that we never seem to learn – i.e. never to ever unquestionably-trust these vile racist-separatist scum, but to treat/regard their words, actions and deeds with “extreme prejudice” and act accordingly ourselves!

Yes. If Tamils (no matter who it is) are against Sinhalese moving to so called Tamil areas in the North, GET OUT of Colombo NOW peacefully!

Ananda Sangari (AS) is a hardcore racist. We have mentioned it years ago. Unfortunately he has become a worse racist after the war. Here is proof:
1). AS is a signatory to the racist 1977 TULF manifesto that vowed to create Tamil Elam.
2). AS has craftily pushed his racist agenda pretending to be a moderate.
3). He always supported the Tamil Nadu model for Sri Lanka as a political solution. one Tamil nadu causes enough hatred, violence and threats we certainly don’t need another.
4). He never resigned from the TNA. He was not given the top post and as a result he was expelled. but he pretended to be away from the TNA.
5). At this year’s LG election in Kilinochchi, his TULF came to an understanding with the TNA. Although he openly critisises TNA, his TULF policies are as racist as TNA.
6). Now AS is openly hate mongering trying to incite violence again.
7). Going to India and discrediting the Sinhalese and Sri Lanka is an unforgivable offence. He must be adequately punished for this crime.
AS should not to end up like his “thambi” by following the path of war and racism. That is the price tag.
This country is for everyone to live everywhere. It is not Tamil Nadu. There are no Tamil Homelands.
Please don’t mess with the ethnic integration process. Consequences will be ugly. Give peace a chance at least now.

Sri Lanka is for all Sri lankans and we should not forget this fact. Indians have no business to even discuss this subject. They should try to solve some of their own problems first before interfering in our country. We must encourage more non tamils also to go to the North and East as the country is spending tax payer’s money to develop this part of the country.

Sri Lanka should be for all its citizens. Sri Lanka is a nation state with different ethnic groups and Tamils should not have a claim for part of the country, just because they invaded and killed Singhalese, some time back. The whole of Lanka was the home land of the Sinhalese. and Tamil Nadu is the home land of the Tamils. Unfortunately, Singhalese have not been competitive enough to survive in the so called home land of the Tamils, and pushed out from their own home land.. In short the Singhalese have been pushed out from their own home land, due to lack of competitiveness. The law that operate in nature is survival of the fittest. The Sinhalese have not been competitive enough to survive in the North, East, Hill country and now even the Capital Colombo.
We cannot blame others for our own lack of competitiveness.
We appear to hang on to an Indian dogma that even Indians do not believe any more.
In order to survive, we need to have a will to win and survive and prepared to undergo pain and suffering to make a gain.
Dogmas that promote giving up desires s and make us fearful of hard work, (in case of suffering ) need to be dumped, as it creates people without a competitive spirit.
We need to ask how did we manage to lose a good chunk of our only homeland and learn lessons.
Tamils think of the` North and the East as captured areas from us and are reluctant to allow us in. In the near future if we are not careful, and continue to sleep, the Capital Colombo and the hill country will also be the Tamil home land. We have to, as a matter of priority, to minimise the threat to Lanka and the Sinhalese, need to dismantle mono ethnic areas in Lanka and allow the displaced Sinhalese back to the North and East and the hill country.
At the end of the day, if the Sinhalese are not fit enough to survive, due to their passive belief system, they may follow Nalanda Buddhists and could get wiped out. Indians have dumped Buddhism after the Nalanda debacle. We have to investigate why we are not competitive enough and need to take remedial measures. The modern world is highly competitive and now we are facing global competition and global threats. We have to be prepared to defend our country before we lose more of it.
As for Ananda many disputes could be eliminated if he treats the Sinhalese as his people, just as many of us like to consider Tamils as our people, the sons and daughters of Lanka. In the past Anada hs been an honest person.

We are the only Sinhala nation living in this tiny tear drop like island in the Indian ocean where our immediate neighbor India is 63 times bigger than the island Sri Lanka. When America was already occupied by the Red Indians (I don’t know why they were called red Indians when India was elsewhere) Columbus intruded America and told that he discovered it. The same way these Tamils intruded or imported from South India to work in the tea plantations now claim the land in east and north of the country. Tamils know that we Sinhalese always jealous of our own people. They envy, hate each other. They will tolerate a Tamil businessman prospers but detests his own fellow Sinhalese climbing up the ladder. We have so many divisions and sub divisions by casts, religions, politics and other ideologies.
I saw on one online paper that former President Hon. Chandrika has told the American Ambassador Ms. Butenis that Rajapakses are uneducated, uncultured, corrupted buggers. See how one time president of the country spiting looking up. When she was the most corrupted leader known as Bandit Queen she ought to be more careful not to betray the country. If we do not stand as one Sinhala nation these racist Tamils will keep pestering us.

Unfortunately I find that your words are not effectively and OFFICIALLY repeated loud and clear jointly by the UPLF & the UNP to India and the rest of the World so that they get the message and there is never the slightest room for any misunderstanding on what will ever be allowed in Sri Lanka. This message has to repeatedly go out OFFICIALLY by the Government & the Opposition locally and abroad that if Tamils want a separate state because of their ‘Tamilness’ the only place for that is in their place of Tamil Dravidian Racial Origin. AND THAT IS none other than the State of TAMIL NADU in India. All citizens of Sri Lanka have an equal right to live anywhere on the Island. It is extremely sad the Sinhala majority with their politicians even now are having the ‘frog in the well’ outlook and fail see the wider picture and announce this (your) sentiment Locally, Globally and repeatedly. The claim by the Tamils that they are in Colombo by personal choice exercising the very freedom to live anywhere while the Sinhalas should not is unacceptable. Government should do more to settle hundreds of thousands of Sinhalese and Muslims in the north.
That is the only solution to this problem.
We cannot turn our dear country into a India where Tamil, Malayalis, Bengalis, Panjabis, etc. live separately.

On a more serious note, it has been archeologically and otherwise proven that there are no Tamil Areas as such in Sri Lanka. From time to time, various parts have been briefly occupied by Tamil invaders, only to have matters normalise again, viz. Elara in the NCP area. Why is it that Tamils of Tamil Nadu come over to Lanka and claim it is theirs ? It is plain invasion. Are invaders tolerated in modern times ? NO. Either live with us in Sri Lanka as a Sri Lankan or depart back to Tamil Nadu.
(1) The other aspect is that Tamil Refugees who are from Sri Lanka and now in Tamil Nadu camps are now allowed to come back to Sri Lanka. They are returning in batches of 30-50 people by sea route. There are about 200,000 plus Tamils in these camps. In return, should not the Tamil people who came to Lanka illegally during the ltte reign in the N&E be sent back to Tamil Nadu ? There are thousands of such illegal Tamil migrants already in Lanka. Can Sri Lanka afford to go on accepting these unwanted people from Tamil Nadu who keep coming into Lanka as illegal migrants ?
(2) Let’s go back in time a bit. After the Sirimi/Shasthri Pact signed in Oct 1964, these are the figures of Tamil people who did go back and those who did not. The Agreement stated that Sri Lanka takes in 375,000 Indian Tamils, and India takes 600,000 Hill Country Tamils. Of these, 506,000 opted for Indian citizenship and 470,000 opted for Lanka citizenship. Repatriation to India has been slow, and by 1982, 86,000 were still pending (no Indian papers yet) and 90,000 given Indian papers were still in Lanka. This adds up to about 176,000 of those who opted to go back but still in Lanka. What is their status now ? By now, the numbers must be around 200,000 at least.
* For Tamil leaders these people represent a vote bank. For others of Lanka it means an Agreement with India was not honoured and Lanka is left with a permanent ‘Tamil Problem/Grievances’ which is the permanent play ground for Tamil politicians.
* What is Mr Anandasangree’s motive in making such a statement to the detriment of both the Sinhala & Tamil communities ? Whatever his motives, he is just spoiling the chances for real peace in Lanka.
(3) The role of Tamil Nadu vis-a-vis Lanka should also be examined. In more recent times, we have witnessed TN fishermen poaching in Lanka sea waters, taking billions of rupees worth of fish daily. TN fishermen have trawled their own sea waters too much turning them into barren areas and are now poaching Lanka waters. TN leaders constantly complain to Delhi about SL Navy harrassment of TN fishermen and that the island of Kuchativu must be ‘taken back’ by India. TN leaders constantly interfere with Lanka matters in the political sphere. The more Tamil people who enter Lanka, the more this interference will be.
Conclusion: Tamil Nadu politics/economics are impinging on Sri Lanka. Mr Anandasangaree and other Tamil leaders must decide : do their loyalties lie with Tamil Nadu or with Sri Lanka ? The middle of the Palk Straits is an uncomfortable place to park their political conscience. They are endangering the lives of all Sri Lankans.
