Australian ICJ chairman John Dowd says in public that there is new evidence of war crimes against Sri Lanka.
A jurist does not make any comments in public or private on the matters that may end up in a court of law.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ That principle is jealously guarded by any eminent persons in the community.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ They shall refrain from entering into any dialogue on any controversial issues especially in a biased manner and supporting one party.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When a jurist makes himself known to the world that he is a jurist, that itself is enough to disqualify him from sitting in a jury.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The danger in making himself known is, a party may tend to influence him making a biased statement or an opinion.

Let me put it in another way….the LTTE has been given free access to the world’s news media and other international organisations. By whom? One does not have to guess too many times to arrive at the correct answer.
This is not LTTE’s war, this is a war planned and run by some agency using LTTE as their proxy. LTTE is not the invincible monster they claim they are (as proved by our soldiers in 2009) but some agencies of the wealthy countries certainly may be invincible, as far as Sri Lanka is concerned.

Well said gdesilva. Many Sinhalese still do not understand who the real power behind the LTTE and Tamil brutality has been. The reality is simple with the West “allowing” the LTTE to operate in their countries –they willingly harbour the “diaspora” (wrong term to truly describe them) to allow funding of the LTTE during the last 15 years.
The Channel 4 dramas have all been backed and supported by the Foreign Office.
Tamils and their inhumane brutality as symbolised by the LTTE have long been a conduit of interference and tool to control and manipulate Sinhalese (heck that’s what why they imported in millions of them in the first place starting from the Dutch). After the LTTEs destruction the West had been at a loss on how to continue to dictate and dominate Sri Lanka with their most potent asset in doing so destroyed. So they quickly put together a new one: the “war crimes” rubbish –sustained entirely through propaganda and “anonymous witnesses” without a single shred of concrete evidence to actually back it up. But they keep repeating it, as you do with propaganda coupled to their pre-conditioned mind set of dirty brown people “always do such things” and we’re automatically guilty of whatever they accuse us of.
This is their replacement for the LTTE, their new tool to interfere and dictate towards SL. Shamelessly many Sinhalese also join in with this “reformation” of the old ways for the West and amply assist in damaging the nation because of their own deep rooted selfish machinations. Sri Lanka will never get far due to the large number of short sighted selfish morons that love to worship the West driven by political tunnel vision coupled to “island mentality” where they cannot see the greater picture and the long term implications of their short sighted selfish actions designed to “please” themselves today and now, with all hell to tomorrow. Or they can and simply do not care. It is unfortunate that so many Sinhalese who have a country to call home do not value its existence.
Only the Sinhala people could produce a worthless, selfish power greedy self-serving man like Fonseka that spits on the nations crowning achievements then opens the gates to the enemy. Thus taking the nation backwards and all just for their own advancements, aggrandisement, power lust and ego rubbing. Our history is littered with hundreds of Fonsekas. This selfish mentality and incredible jealousy towards each other is written deep into our very fabric and is why our people have been constantly “under attack” and only advanced so far, never further.

Thanks to these stupid ‘big mouthers’, like Dowd who each time make an anti SL statement – another dozen or so tourist decide to pack their bags and fly to SRI LANKA. Many of them vowing to re visit the Island soon. Lucky Sri Lanka – you are being advertised for FREE.

If you believe John Dowd and other LTTE agents are is doing a big favor for tourism in Sri Lanka, why the patriotic pack is complaining about anti-Lanka comments from the west?
What a “wise” comment and you should replace our Admiral as the new High Commissioner for Australia.
Both seems to be having the same level of diplomatic intelligence!

Mr. Stanley Prera – You have said a book full of things in your very opening statement. I hope this organization will read it and learn something as regards its prime responsibilities. I doubt it very much.
Since of late we observe that these so called “world organizations”,”eminent persons,” including Political Leaders are failing to understand what they stand for and say the least what they are talking about. As a Juror, we expect him or her to be of sound mind and healthy, who takes an oath to give an honest verdict based on evidence presented in court by the prosecution, defence and a summation of a Judge. In this cntext, the comments made by no lesser person than the Australian ICJ Chairman John Dowd is disgraceful and must receive contempt of all its members. In actual fact, the members must demand his immediate resignation and restore the dignity of the institution.
Since of late, this deterioration of sound judgement based on facts and truth has been very much displayed in very high positions like the Secretary General of the UNO, Commissioner General of the UNHRC, Political Leaders of the so called “Big Powers” etc. WHY? It would be interesting to undertake a study and research into this situation and make recommendations for immediate remedial measures, as otherwise, the world affairs will collapse and bring disasterous consequences for the entire humanity. We see it happening in Political, Social,Economic spheres all over the world and one wonders where we are heading.
The statement by Australian ICJ Chairman is a pointer to this fact of deterioration in the world order.
