Not withstanding, the threat by NCCT, your organization, through your lawyers, to sue me for defamation early this year, I shall let my conscience speak what I truly believe is wrong in your request to the Canadian Government in your MEDIA RELEASE. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ By now you and your colleagues at NCCT ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am sure have figured out that I resent intimidation in any form.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The worst was when your Tamils threatened to blow up the 15 storey building at 200 Kent Street, in Ottawa, on June 6, 1987, because the Federal Government had employed me to work for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ It became a major security issue by June 9 in the City of Ottawa, and I refused to hide under a table for the rest of my life.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

You said in your Media Release, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Tamil Canadians urges Canada for immediate sanctions against the Sri Lankan GovernmentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Wrong!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That is an aluminum pot full of sickly looking Thosai Green Sambar, Krisna, as there are hundreds of moderate Tamils in Scarborough, Markham and Toronto, who will not support your request as they would only wish goodwill for Sri Lanka and uphold the dignity of the Tamils who stayed back in Sri Lanka to make a go of their lives and live in harmony, inter-marrying with the majority Sinhalese.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And that is a fact.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When you hop into a plane to fly to Sri Lanka, the place that very likely you and your parents ran away from saying that you have been discriminated and persecuted by the majority Sinhalese, walk down the main shopping drag in the heart of Colombo, the mile long Main Street in Pettah, where three out of every four shops are owned by your Tamil people.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And they are all millionaire rich and they refuse to come to Canada as refugees.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

You know what Krisna?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The last time I visited Colombo, I stood in front of Ganesh Textiles at 81-83 Main Street in the Pettah from 11:00 AM until noon one sweating-hot Thursday, and counted the number of people who entered the store that mainly sold beautiful exotic Indian saris from Mumbai, Bangalore and Kanchipuram, and spoke to them when they came out asking them what ethnic group they were from.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Here are the results.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  During that hour 347 persons went in.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Of them 321 were from the majority Sinhalese community patronizing this Tamil sari shop. Krisna?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That is a lie.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That is a complete lie. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ There was never a United Nations Report to start with.

Here is the Truth, Krisna.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The expert panel report cannot be called a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-United Nations ReportƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, as it is a report compiled on a private initiative by Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon of the UN, and has no nexus with the UN.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  It is also flawed in many respects.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The process adopted to compile the report was incurably flawed.

Krisna, for starters the panel insists that they have no investigative power and that they are not embarking on any investigation at all.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  On the first page of the executive summary, they say, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The panelƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s mandate however, does not extend to fact finding or investigation.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  In confirmation of this, on page 3 of the main report, it is said, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-The panel has not conducted fact finding as that term is understood in United Nations practice.ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Are you getting it Krisna?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I couldnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t be any simpler.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  So, letƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s stop pulling wool over the eyes of the Canadian Government personnel, and for GodƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s sake stop lying.

Who counted the numbers and how did they arrive at the numbers?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  At the beginning of Eelam IV War, it was told that the Tamil Tigers were herding around 300,000 Tamils as a human shield and not 375,000.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  By January 2009, the Tamil Tigers were cornered and they were retreating in a sliver ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  sandy-beach land and there were no spare land to bury 75,000 bodies.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ So the question remains as to where be these dead bodies buried? ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Not having spare land for burial were these bodies thrown into heaps and burnt?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  If they did, we would have heard about the stench of the burning bodies and the plumes of black-smoke would have been recorded by clicking cameras by every INGO who wanted to nail Sri Lanka to the wall and publicized the photos through out the world.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  That didnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t happen, did it now Krisna?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The soldiers were too busy going after the Tamil Tigers as every army member was deployed to eliminate the Tamil Tigers and not the civilians, as the last phase of the war was a humanitarian war to rescue the 300,000 Tamils, and that is the number that we were told 30 months before the end of the war. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Right, Krisna? At the end of the war on 19 May 2009, 294,000 Tamils were registered as had been saved from the clutches of the Tamil Tigers. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ My Grade 3 arithmetic tells me that 300,000 ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” 294,000 = 6,000 and not 75,000.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ I am sure your Grade 3 arithmetic skills would come up with the same 6,000 number too. Where did the 75,000 civilian deaths come from?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Krisna, did you find out from the panelists what they had smoked that morning when they penned that,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚¦ 40,000-75,000 civilians butchered?ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  What a cockup Krisna!ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  If they had drunk morning coffee that day, I am sure it would have been spiked with a hallucinating drug, I am sure.

Lets, continue with those horrendous 75,000 being butchered. No bodies were reported from Chennai; no bodies were reported from Pondicherry; no bodies were reported from Mayuram; no bodies were reported from Nagapattinam; no bodies were reported from Karikal and no bodies were reported from the shores of Chitambaram.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  In fact, Krisna, your allegations stink to high heaven as if they were emanating from oil barrels full of stinking Jaffna- Jardi.

And do you know, Gordon Weiss, the former UN representative in Colombo who pulled that 40,000 figure from the air, has now written a book on the war and, I am told is minting money selling it to Tamils around the world.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This war has made a few millionaires like the human smugglers, the fraudulent forged passport sellers, the credit card scammers, the agents to buy weapons, the drug traffickers; you name it that is what this Eelam War culture has produced. Millionaires!

Let me tell you the story about the East of Sri Lanka.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This is no folk tale nor is it a fairy tale.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  This is the true story that the Canadian Government personnel that NCCT has addressed ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ through your Media Release should know.

The Gal Oya Project was the innovation of the first Prime Minister of Sri Lanka after Independence on February 4, 1948, the Rt. Hon. D.S.Senanayake (Snr.).ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The 62 mile long Gal Oya (river) rising from the Badulla range in the Central Province was dammed in 1949 for the welfare and prosperity of all Sri Lankans.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The repository of water after the damming now forms the lifeblood of the peasant farmers, mainly Sinhalese, of the historic region of Digamadulla, that the Tamil Tigers used to massacre claiming that it is their Tamil homeland.

Here is the rub Krisna.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Prior to this Gal Oya project, contrary to what your NCCT ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Media Release would like the Canadian Government to believe that it was part of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-the Tamil homelandƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, on either side of the Gal Oya river grew relentless jungle.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  There were no Tamils living there, not even on jungle tree-houses.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The actual denizens were a few Veddhas (aboriginal people and not Tamils) and wild animals.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The Veddhas did not speak Tamil.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  They had their own dialect and they still do.

It is still recalled by a few older Veddhas, how their parents trekked a few miles along a jungle trail to visit the dam site overlooking the Inginiyagala rock, which still stands as a giant sentinel. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Those days only foot paths and animal tracks criss-crossed that vast amphitheatre which was entwined by dense jungle.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I wonder where the Tamils were in this area, as claimed by you lot.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  No one but a Tamil separatist who still dreams of his mythical Eelam would come up with egregious nonsense such as your ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Tamil homelandƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

Thus, the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-state aided colonizationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ in the Gal Oya project refers to the process by which largely unoccupied, let me repeat, largely unoccupied and unutilized state land which was traditional homeland of the aboriginal people, the elephant, the sloth bear, the leopard, the monkey, the deer, and the jackal was given free of charge to the Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s poor and landless communities.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  They were given meager financial assistance to enable them to gain both a livelihood and feed their fellow citizens, which includes the Tamils like you, with the fruits of their toil.

By creating the Gal Oya multi-purpose project, the Prime Minister D.S.Senanayake opened the door for new settlements, where Sinhalese like Podi Appuhamy and Biso Manike; Tamils like Nadaraja and his wife Sita amma; and Muslims like Tahir Lebbe and his wife Farida ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ were settled to live in harmony and contentment.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And they did so for many years until ethno-centric nationalism set in and, lo, behold, the Tamils started to claim that the area was theirs and started to ethnically cleanse the east by killing and terrorizing the Sinhalese and the Muslim communities.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And that is what happened Krisna and NCCT.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  And that is what happened Canadian Government personnel, and donƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t believe the Tamil separatist fairy tales. What I was told was that the government wedding gifts did not include condoms for the men and no birth control pills for the women. They were asked to go and make Tamil babies.
