Your story on armed men visiting students

Dear Editor,
Your story on Sunday Times has given an unnecessary length of details regarding the issue. It is very clear that some foreign hands are behind this so called agitation by students. What is their real problem at this time. The JVPers including Somavansa Amarasinhe were instrumental in the annihilation of more than 60000 sinhala youths in 1987 era. They have found that they do not have chance to gain powere and are resorting to create problems that could lead to a similar situation and even endanger very existence of Sinhala nation. Please do not support them in anyway. It appears to me that you are providing ladders for monkeys.
Our country with its meager resources have been able to educate all of us by giving free education to as many as possible to the university level. Instead of making use of that opportunity, get the education and go out to the world, these idiots do everything other than educating themselves. Please write articles in your paper advising the parents and students not to create problems at this stage, that can damage our countryƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢simage and economy.
If they decide that the government they put into power is not good, they can select a suitable party next time ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ and also take action for any wrong doings.

The JVPers are masters at brainwashing with talk. The university students are their prey, and their cannon fodder for achieving their own gains.

another “conspiracy behind everything” person. The responsible for youth in 1987 was the Premadasa government who acted worse than terrorists. The gruesome way they acted compelled president Rajapakse to seek UN help in Geneva.

What has Somawansa Amarasignhe got in common with USAID other than toppling GOSL?. What has revolutionary SL university students got in common with scheming Robert O’ Blake?. Premadasa made use of JVP to oust JRJ to come leadership of UNP and got a chance to contest. He also got them to cut down trees and block roads to prevent SLFP people from voting for Mrs B. This happened in Wariyapola area and she lost by mere 25000 votes. Our students and the so called revolutionaries easily fall prey to these schemers; perhaps for few Dollars. Ultimately who suffers is the poor in our country and we will eternally be a backward nation.
