DMK leader Muthuvel Karunanidhi said that he very much doubts about President RajapaksaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s statement on the Northern Provincial Council elections saying there is some ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-hidden meaningƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ on the polls scheduled a year from now as was said by the President.

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-There seems to be some hidden meaning in Mr. RajapaksaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s comments that electoral rolls have to be revised,ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ he told reporters in Chennai when asked about the Sri Lankan PresidentƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s remarks that they wanted to hold the election to the provincial council in September 2013.

Karunanidhi did not clarify exactly what he is skeptical about the Rajapaksa statement.

Rajapaksa had told the Hindu among other things the electoral voter registers were not up to date and more than 30 years old.
