Ambassador Dayan Jayatilleka speaks at Asie21

On October 11th, 2012, Ambassador Dayan Jayatilleka delivered a speech on ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Sri Lanka in Relation to China and IndiaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ at a conference organized by Asie21 (ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Asia21ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚).
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Created in 1995 as part of the association Futuribles International (Possible International Futures), Asie21 is a grouping for reflection specializing in Asia. Composed of experts from various fields, Asie21ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s role is to monitor and evaluate trends -geopolitical, economic, ecological, technological, social, cultural and political- that are to have a significant impact in Asia.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Present on the occasion were several members of Asie21: Ambassador Michel Lummaux (former Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka), Ambassador Jean Perrin (former Ambassador of France to Malaysia), Brigadier-General Alain Lamballe (rtd.), Prof. Jean Hourcade (former advisor for culture and technical cooperation at the Embassy of France in Kuala Lumpur), Dr. Philippe Delalande (consulting economist on South-East Asia), Jean-RaphaƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚«l ChapponiƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¨re (Economist at the French Development Agency/Asia Department), Emmanuel Dubois (consultant on China and Japan), Michel Jan (sinologist) and Catherine Bouchet-Orphelin (Board member of Finauteuil Investissement).
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Ambassador JayatillekaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s presentation was followed by a question and answer session with the participants.
