Former Sri Lanka Army Commander Sarath Fonseka on Tuesday filed papers to register a new political party in the island nation under his leadership.

Aiyooooo Dear Mr. Ex. Commander, I urge you to call upon the President and ask for a good job. Politics is not for you. We saw how you bungled many times, over and over again.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Don’t you get sound advice from close confidants, friends, relativesƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  before you open your mouth and utter nonsense like forming a new party?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Not even UNP can raise their heads now and you think you can form a new party? With whom?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  JVP, TNA and other jokers? Please don’t make yourself a joker. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

Sir, please listen to me, you are a very nice guy, but politics is not for you. If I were you, I would have played the game good build my future earned good money using my head and stayed with the Defense. Now, you missed the boat.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Greediness is the biggest failure for some and you fell into that hole too.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Exactly, what are you doing these days?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I know,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  you must be finding it difficult these days being a tough Soldier to move around.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

Some other top soldiers who followed you, are no where to be found. They say, the biggest miscalculation they did in their carrier was to follow you. Aiyoooooo…ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  But I still love you.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  I tell you from my heart. I attended every single rally you held and I know not even 5% of people who attended those rallies voted for you. Remember the big rallies and thousands of people? After your speech every one of them left the rally and didn’t vote for you. You know why?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You were only talking about your land file some one was holding in his ‘Kihilla’. People got so upset listening to this same old crap.

They wanted to hear how you gave jobs to them, food to them, what prices you were going to bring down, how you were going to increase their pay check, and so on. But you were only talking about the ‘file’ and ‘computerrr kota kota’ story. You and I both know, you just cannot talk. It’s like base is less and treble is high. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  You have no experience in doing politics but you are a very good solider.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  Kick ass, throw the plate, shoot the head off, bomb the whole area, give commands, catch Terrorists, tell women soldiers how to fire. This is what you are good at.

But you are not good at smiling at every one, listen to crap, answer people when they ask where the money went, go open shops, plays, movies, travel around the world on official trips but never attend the meeting they went for, get commission on every single deal that the Ministry signs contracts with, go from house to another begging for their vote, bend down, kneel downƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  and worship people when you are begging for vote and so on.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ 

SO MY DEAR FEARLESS SOLDIER,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  POLITICS IS NOT FOR YOU.. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  LETS’ HAVE LUNCH AND I WILL EXPLAIN BETTER. MY ONLY ADVICE TO YOU IS TOƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  GO TO TEMPLE TREES, JUST SMILE WITH THE PRESIDENT JUST ONE TIME AND YOU GET THE JOB YOU WANT IN NO TIME. YOU LIVE HAPPY AND PEACEFULLY.

Former Sri Lankan army commander to form new political party

Fonseka, who filed his party papers at the Elections Department on Tuesday morning, issued an open invitation for any political party member to join his new party in a move to form a strong opposition.

Sri Lanka’s Democratic National Alliance (DNA) MP Jayantha Kettagoda will function as the general secretary of the party, Fonseka said.

Fonseka contested the 2010 presidential elections in the island nation under the Democratic National Alliance but lost the race to President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

As commander of the army, Fonseksa played an integral role in ending the country’s civil war in 2009, defeating Tamil Tiger rebels. He later had a public fall out with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and unsuccessfully challenged Rajapaksa in the 2010 presidential election.

Following the end of the war, Fonseka was promoted to a four star rank in the Sri Lankan army, becoming the first serving officer to hold such a rank. He has been described as Sri Lanka’s most successful army commander.

On Nov. 29, 2009, Fonseka formally announced his candidature in the 2010 Sri Lankan presidential election. His candidacy was endorsed by the main opposition parties and Fonseka became the main opposition candidate challenging President Rajapaksa. He campaigned under the sign of a swan.

Following his election defeat, Fonseka was arrested on Feb. 8, 2010, and the government announced he will be court-martialed for committing “military offences.” He was found guilty of corrupt military supply deals and sentenced to three years in prison. After serving more than two years in prison, Fonseka was released on May 21 last year.
