‘I am the only alternative’ – Sarath Fonseka

Sarath Fonseka (SF), the leader of the Democratic Party had said, after his party was registered, that, ‘His outfit is the only alternative to a corrupt govt as well as a bankrupt Opposition’. Unfortunately, he had realised aboutƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ the bankruptƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Opposition a bit late. During the last Presidential elections the Opposition was in a limbo without a candidate. After the war bothƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ President Rajapakse and Sarath Fonseka were at the height of their popularity. So the Oppositon usedƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ one diamond to cut another diamond.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The election defeat was a disaster for him. All his backers deserted him.
There are nearly 60 recognised political parties in Sri Lanka. In most countries there are no more than 3 or 4. But going with the local practice SF as well had formed a party. He had invited anyone to join his party. But a questionƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ raised is whether he could contest, because his civic rights had been scrapped as a result of being convicted in the HI Corp and White Flag cases. Some claim that he had been given a pardon but not an unconditional pardon restoring his civic rights. If so, a party without the leader in Parliament would be like a house without its supporting pillors!

Is that what Sarath Fonseka is saying?
We all know what a corrupt politician he is. Commissions from arms deals. Promoting his son-in-law as an arms dealer.Helping his corrupt son-in law to abscond the law. Accepting funds from the Americans,
Certinly he has the experiance.
With his experience as a corrupt man will he be able to catch other thieves?

What if (just what if) Fonseka goes on a rampage eliminating all those who deserted him since the 2010 election?

My dear General why dont you just stay at home and relax read a book or help your wife do some gardning and other stuff like a decent man? You do not know any politics. You have nothing in your mind except take revenge and power. Your foul mouth doesn’t suit politics in Sri Lanka. You are a tired and a violent man not good for politics in my country. Everyone knows about you and you will not be able to win anything except you will get more enemies and you will be bankrupt of course if someone is there to help you with green bucks. maybe evil International community. who knows.
