ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ How naƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚¯ve can Australia be?
Its four years since the Sri Lankan military crushed the Tamil Tigers. Since then there has not been a single terrorist event. The county is flourishing with new ports, road infrastructure and development projects. The recent Australian parliamentary delegation led by Julie Bishop confirmed how stable and secure Sri Lanka today is.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Tamils are the majority race in the capital city, Colombo and they control business and commerce. They hold positions in the government. . Yet, the international Tamil Tiger lobby together with their Western allies demonise the Sri Lankan government to create an environment that boosts asylum seekers. If Tamils feel insecure in Sri Lanka why would they not go to their homeland Tamil Nadu, India?ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Instead,ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ they know when they land here, they now have not only their ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ support network but also the Greens to ensure they would not be turned back and a generous welfare system.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ A real danger for Australia is that among these economic migrants are also remnants of the Tamil Tiger terrorists and criminal elements. There have been instances of refugees being charged for credit card scamming, extortion and sexual assault in Australia.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ AustraliaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s mistaken sympathy for Sri Lankan asylum seekers is a recipe for disaster.
