A nation misled by astrologers

It is a tragi- comedy that for each and everything our nation practically depends on fortune telling. The auspicious days even for elections are fixed on the advice of fortune tellers it ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ is whispered ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” nay, publicly declared.
Obviously the government and the opposition go to the fortune tellers and they must be telling the same thing for both. How many predictions ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ have been foretold ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ by these people and how many of them actually has come to pass, will be ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ an interesting study, if only someone will take the time to investigate.
Even the advertisements promote this false concept. If one can win lottery tickets just by stepping out of the house at nakathe time, why cannot everyone use the same tactic, and win? We are conveying wrong message to the youth, that hard work is not that gives you results rather the time. I have come across many a middle aged maidens unmarried just because her horoscope has some apala.
Islam totally condemns fortune telling. Rather we are told heard work and supplications to Allah is all you need to achieve whatever you want. No one is born with bad luck depending on their birth date and time , rather ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ everyone is born pure and destined to achieve what they strive for. Islam also explains how certain predictions come true. According to Islam only Allah the almighty determines what will happen tomorrow and ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ this is done through the angels but the jinns who are evil creations through whom the fortune tellers ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ get their information, steal one or two true information and mix with 99 lies and convey. ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ When a man is told about his future, if 100 lies are told, and one of them happens to be ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ come right he holds onto that and puts his belief in the fortune teller.
If the fortune tellers are correct, and know the future, I ask them a simple question, why cannot they foretell the numbers of the sweep tickets and win them? How come they are all poor?

I agree.
Whatever auspicious days, govt. is going to LOSE the north election BIG TIME. Only EPDP families will vote for it. TNA, TNPF and TULF will get 90% of the vote.
This is the BITTER TRUTH. NO PLANET can change than. ONLY a meteior can if it falls on Jaffna and destroys it FULLY!!

When you say Allah ‘totally condemns fortune telling’ that’s ok with us for it doesn’t effect non-Muslims like us. But when you seriously believe and tell us to believe that “Allah the almighty determines what will happen tomorrow”, I am afraid we cannot agree with it. Tell us why should we believe your saying that your Allah or his prophet or his Koran that condemns non-believers like us as “animals” and beasts and demanded Muslims to kill us.
Koran 98:6 says, “Those who disbelieve from among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-Fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures.” Also 8:55 says, “Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve, then they would not believe.” Koran 8:39 says, “And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah.” And that is only three of as many as 99 nasty verses I can quote if you want. So we think the Koran is the word of Satan not the God.
And you Mareena must be reading the Koran five times a day. So what do you think of those verses and non-believers like us. Do you think like that Muslim killer that killed the British soldier said to have invoked and made specific reference to the Islamic doctrine that one must fight against those who fight against Islam before killing the British soldier in Woolwich.
Koran 2:190 says, “Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors”. That verse verse many so-called moderates like you say is a foundation for defensive jihad. But That killer himself made clear that he believed that the soldier was fighting Muslims in Islamic lands, Iraq and Afghanistan and he thought that he was not “transgressing” by killing the soldier for the soldier was already fighting Muslims. That’s what the killer said.
Whether fortune tellers forecasts come true or not people only loose money not their life or their fortune. No fortune teller ask his clients to kill or rob to get what they want. But your Koran does all the nasty things in this world to get what Muhammad want. The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with non-believers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.
That’s why I said your Koran is the word of Satan.

Leela, the verse in quran which says that muslims to wage war against non muslims is a part of a historical event mentioned in quran- in which the people of mecca known as non believers who broke the peace agreement known as huddaibiya and started attacking the muslims of medina, hence prophet mohamed(PBUH) asked the god whether they can reponse for this, so god gave permission for muslims to fight against them by saying in Quran as “kill those non belivers whenever you find them, but dont kill thier women and children”..so the word “non beliver” means people of mecca,but not the current day non believer. But unfortunately this verse is misused by the west to turn people like you against islam.Remember one thing , do not read quran without the “tafsir”- which is the commentary of quran. Even prophet mohamed(PBUH) once gave permission for a group of christian priests to conduct thier sermon within the muslim mosque, he divided the mosque with a curtain so that in one side muslims could pray and on other was the sermon of christians. The Quran says [29:46] Do not argue with the people of the scripture (Jews, Christians) except in the nicest possible manner – unless they transgress – and say, “We believe in what was revealed to us and in what was revealed to you, and our god and your god is one and the same; to Him we are submitters”- this says that do not even argue harshly with non muslims.Hence, all these explain how islam requests muslims to respect other religions.

‘Truth revealed’ accuses non believers (non-Muslims) of Mecca for breaking peace agreement with Muhammad and attacking the Muslims of Medina as the cause for Allah to reveal killer verses against non believers. According to Muslim historians, this is not true.
The Meccans were actually quite tolerant of Muhammad preaching his new religion. Although in 610 Muhammad was lining in Mecca and claimed to be a prophet of Allah, he was left alone during the first ten years because according to Muslim historians, Mecca was an open society where different religions were there and were respected. Muhammad’s own Quraish tribe worshipped a moon god called Allah. Other gods were recognized as well. Polytheists, Jews and Christians lived and worshipped side-by-side, especially during the holy months, when pagan pilgrims would travel long distances from beyond the city to perform their rituals at the Kaaba.
In the beginning, Muhammad did his best to compromise his teachings with the predominant beliefs of the elders of the community, such as combining all 300 of their idols under the name “Allah.” According to early Muslim historians, the Meccans did not mind Muhammad practising his religion, because they didn’t feel threatened. At first, Muhammad was only successful with friends and family. After thirteen years, he could boast of only about a hundred determined followers, who called themselves Muslims. So, there was no opposition for his preaching at the outset.
Relations with the Meccans turned particularly sour after an episode known as “the Satanic Verses”n which Muhammad agreed to recognize the local gods in addition to Allah. This delighted the Meccans, who generously extended their welcome. All this changed once the self-proclaimed prophet began attacking religions of Meccans, including the customs and ancestors of the people (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 167).
Meccans disapproved Muhammad preaching ‘One God’ or a unit that put all gods in to one, or rather persecuted him. Influential leaders of Mecca, then mocked his humble background against his pretentious claims. Muhammad immediately had a revelation full of instructive legends of many nations whom God had destroyed for their wickedness in rejecting the prophets who had been sent to them. This was enough to stir up the resentment against him. Those revelations didn’t do much good to Muhammad or his supporters at all. When the persecution got intense, his followers started to run.
So much so, in 616 he had to publish a revelation recognizing three Meccans’ idols such as Lat, Ozza and Manah, as intercessors with Allah. In consequence of this concession to their faith, the Korayshites, his own tribe, fell down on their faces in adoration of Allah. Moreover, those exiles in Abyssinia returned to their native land. By and by, he obtained other important converts, among who were Abu Bakr, Zobayr and Othman, afterwards the caliph.
Once Muhammad gained the power and establish his authority by force, he became ashamed of the weakness by which he had purchased public support. The verses were struck out of the Koran and the weakness was attributed to the devil. That is explained in 52 and 53 verses of Sura xxii; “but God shall bring to naught that which Satan had suggested. Thus, shall God affirm his revelations, for God is All knowing, Wise. That he may make that which Satan hath injected, a trial to those in whose hearts is a disease, and whose hearts are hardened.” And this ‘Truth revealed’ conveniently placed it as a ‘historical event’.
Although this ‘Truth revealed’ talk of non believers attacking Muslims, it is important to note that the earliest and most reliable biographers (Ibn Ishaq and al-Tabari) record the death of only one Muslim during this period, an older woman who died from stress. It was Muslims that resort to militancy first when Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas picked up a camel’s jawbone and struck a local polytheist who was “rudely interrupting” his group of praying Muslims. “This was the first blood to be shed in Islam” (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 166). And there is NO NEED for TODAY’S people to KEEP SUCH SATANIC VERSES in the Koran.
Lets not fool ourselves. PLEASE read thereligionofpeace website to know the TRUTH. EVERYDAY there are killings by Islamics BY THE NAME of their god. This is the truth. Lets not fool ourselves to believe it is only a few who do these things. If all the believers had the opportunity, they all will do the same.

Marina, it is nice to hear from you but as in the past you sometimes talk nonsense by talking about things that you don’t know. I understand as a Muslim you are not allowed to believe anything other than what Muhamad have allegedly said. I am saying that because Muhamad who could not read or write never wrote anything but Koran and Hadith were written by two different people who belived that they remembered what he said many many years after the death of Muhamad. If almighty Allah is so powerful why can’t Muslims who were created by Allah be the richest? Why are the hard working Muslims in African countries and Bangladesh and Pakistan to name few are the poorest? Why didn’t Allah save those thousands of innocent Muslims women and men who died from the building collapse in Bangladesh protected them. It is like what you say about horoscope and very misleading the Koran is. You are also talking about Allah is the only one who knows what is going to happen tomorrow, then again I have to ask you why didn’t Allah stop those innocent Muslim women, men and children suffer and being killed in Bangladesh? You are supposed to be an educated woman and I expect you to think rationally and your decision should be based on evidence and not what you hear or read. Would you do the same with your patients rather than practising what you learn in your medicine books?
Let me correct you Marina, horoscope cannot say everything but it can give you the best available according to the stars. It is like the Koran only a guidance. The best doesn’t mean they will win anything but protect from a bad situation.
