Hon. Stephen Harper
Prime Minister of Canada
House of Commons
Ottawa, ON

Honourable Prime Minister

Motion Passed against Sri Lanka

It is with outrage, that I find in the Hansard, the motion that was passed on the 26th of March, 2014, against the Sri Lankan government.

May I know how you came to this decision?

Was it the Parliamentary Committee meeting that was chaired by Mr. Scott Reid. In which none of the Sinhalese were present. But only the Tamils with motives of separating Sri Lanka were invited. All who participated in that were bias against Sri Lanka. And for those of us who opposed, and called Mr. Reid’s office for a meeting, were bared saying that he will not have time to speak!

Now is that justice?

And all these information of war crimes made during the war etc, are the accusations laid out by the very Tamils, who for years provided the money to carry on a war in Sri Lanka. And for 33 years, the people of Sri Lanka lived in fear of travelling and being in public places, not knowing when the next suicide bomber would come. Now after all these years, with what the People of Sri Lanka had to put up with from Canada, where fundraising continued with the support of the Canadian government, still continue to haunt Sri Lanka.

It seems to us, the Sri Lankans across Canada, that the current government too had fallen for the funding of the Tamils who may have promised votes to win, which is being fought by all three parties, including the Liberals, and the NDP. It is sad to see what Canada is steeping too. That Terrorism in the US is considered real, and terrorism in a small country like Sri Lanka is considered as war criminals, by the very people who was protecting the public, Sinhalese or Tamils or Muslims or the Dutch descendants in Sri Lanka. Despite the fact that the Sri Lankan armed forces saved more than 300,000 Tamils who were held as human shields by the LTTE. But all that does not mean anything to the Canadian Government, as it is the vote count that is more important.

As a Card carrying Conservative member, I am sorry to say, that I will no longer support the Conservative Party, in which I had so much hope. And I am voicing what every Sinhalese would feel.

Yours sincerely,

Some of these Tamilian groups may be BANNED TERRORISTS.

Taking money from TERRORISTS is a serious crime.

SL should NEVER ban Al Qaeda, Taliban. If Canada, etc. needs cooperation from us they should cooperate with us.

  2. Mr. Bernard Wijeyasingha Says:

Sri Lanka should lend a helping hand to the French speaking Canadians in the province of Quebec to achieve their rightful independence from Canada. These brave freedom fighters have faced human rights abuses including the Canadian military presence, police brutality, and the denial of the Canadian French to seek their rightful destination as an independent nation of Quebec.

Colombo should stand firmly with the Canadian French for the unfair and unlawful treatment meted to them by Ottawa the Capital of Canada. French Canadian revolutionaries should get training and support in Sri Lanka and Colombo should address the serious human rights violations perpetrated on the French Canadians to stop them from their rightful homeland of Quebec.
