   Herath Mudiyanselage Ranbanda and Bisomenike have a son and he is named Nathan Sellathamby. This is the process of Tamilizing in the North and East of Sri Lanka. I have come across such people in the Eastern Province. Many Sinhalese ended up being given Tamil names at birth by Tamil Registrars in these areas. Unlike the Sinhalese who carry their Ge name onwards, Tamils do not do this. This methodology of naming facilitated the conversion to being a Tamil while the wilful neglect of the Sinhalese by the powers that be, lead to this anthropological disaster.

   Time has come for the Sinhalese to regain the North and the East!

   Have we forgotten Colombo ?
   Any fool would say by construction 2 housing schemes (similar to HDB of Singapore, Ang Mo Kio and Bedok) only for Sinhalas will wipe out Saudi domination. Many people travel form south by train and from other areas on daily basis. There exists enough land still.
   But our buggers merrily not interested, trying to please US, UK , Canada, Saudi, Qatar still. No proper commitment to Silk ROute.

   Nanda you are right. I was only commenting on the North and East and tamilzation. The story in the south is much more dire and dangerous. Sinhala land is changing hands for Rupees that only have a transient value. It is changing hands for Rupees earned by the Non Sinhalese who dominate the commerce in the cities. Unless this aspect is seen and correctly handled it spells doom to the Sinhalese and mainly to the Sinhala Buddhists in the not too distant future. Soon it will be Sharia Law all over Colombo. They are acquiring land street by street. A study of the Colombo demographics is urgently required.

   The multi-ethnic, multi-religious bullshit will end Sri Lanka in the same soup that other western countries have ended up right now – a la UK, France and Germany!

   Our so called leaders political and religious are letting the Sinhala nation down. They only desire power for the sake of their families and friends and not for national interest. President Rajapakse is a now a prisoner at the hands of the very same forces that campaigned against him in 2005 – just like Buveneka Bahu VII in the hands of the Portuguese!

   We have to DETAMILIZE the north, east and Colombo city too. Otherwise there is no continuation of Sinhalese. Anyone can live in SL without creating MONO ETHNIC GHETTOES.

   On the other hand UDA is evicting the FEW Sinhalese in Colombo city!

   Govt. has no backbone even to SCRAP VESAVALAMI LAW.

   Thank god, BBS has decided to contest alone IF MR fails to give their demands. MR only understands poltiics. He has to be made to see the danger by giving him election jitters.

   The writer is correct about some statements. I am sure it was the UNP that DE franchised the Tamils in the Hill Country (Malay Nadu). Nehru_ Kotlawala agreement was about repatriating Indians back to India. Tamils and other Indians started coming to the island in large numbers since 1792 under the cover of the British Guns. The first were the Vellars from the Malabar coast who came to administer the Dutch possessions acquired by the British. These high caste Vellars reduced the Sinhalese living in Jaffana to Sakkilliyas. Today there are hardly any Sinhalese working in the Estate sector.

   Not only it is not possible for Sinhalese to find work in the estate sector, they are not even able to find a plot to bury their dead. All those who lost land with the Kothmale Hydro projects were relocated to an unfamiliar land in Mahaweli low lands. They could not be found land in the highlands – their own ancestral lands lost to them under the infamous – Wasteland Ordinance of the hated British. They were planted in Mahaweli C sector – Aralaganwila and Giradurukotte – where many died in a land they are not accustomed to. The first thing that one sees entering these areas in the eighties were these hapless people’s cemeteries.

   The Estate Tamils not only got citizenship in Sri Lanka, they also became de-facto owners of the land they work. The politicians never spoke of the land.
