මොකක්ද ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණට තියෙන දේශපාලන ආකල්පය ?
හොරු අල්ලන්ට රනිල්ගේ පොලිසියට ඔත්තු සපයන එකයි අල්ලස් හා දුෂණ කොමිසමට මහලොකුවට ෆයිල් මිටි උස්සගනගිහිල්ල රාජපක්සාලාට විරුද්ධව පැමිනිලිකරන එකයි හැරුනුකොට ධනවාදය නැතිකරලා මාක්ස්වාදයට හුරැ ආණ්ඩුක්‍රමයක් හදන්ට මේගොල්ල කරන උත්සාහය මොකක්ද ? කොපේ කොමිටි වාර්තාවවත් හරියට ඉදිරිපත්කරගන්න බැරි උනා. ඒ වාර්තාවත් යුඇන්පී කාරයින්ගේ පාද සටහන් දමන්නදීලා වැදගත්කමක් නැති වාර්තාවක් බවට පත් උනා.
ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ නායකයෝ හිතාගෙන ඉන්නේ ඒ අය තමයි ලංකාවට මාක්ස්වාදය ගෙනාවේ කියල. නමුත් උන් ඉපදෙන්ටත් ඉස්සෙල්ලා ලංකාවට මාර්ක්ස්වාදය හඳුනාදුන්නේ සුරිය මල් ව්‍යාපාරය මැලේරිය වසංගතය මුල්කරගෙන හමා ආ ඉංග්‍රීසීන්ට විරුද්ධ බලවේග හරහා. 1930වල ඩොරීන් වික්රමසින්හ, දොස්තර ඇස් ඒ වික්‍රමසිංහ, පිටර් කෙනමන් ආදීන්ගෙන් පටන් ගත් කොමුනිස්ට් පක්ෂයත් ලංකා සමසමාජ පක්ශයත් ලංකාවේ දේශපාලන පරිසරය වෙනස්කළා. ඒ දේශපාලන වෙනස්වීම බොහෝදුරට බලපෑවෙ කම්කරු ජනතාව ආශ්‍රීතවබැවින් පලල් ජනතාව මාක්ස් වාදී පක්ෂවලට පක්ෂපාතිත්වයක් පෙන්නුවෙ නැහැ.
සාමාන්‍යයෙන් මාක්ස් වාදය රටක ආණ්ඩු බලය ධනය ඇතිවුන්ගෙන් අරගෙන ධනය හම්බකරන වැඩකරජනතාවන්ට පැවරීම විප්ලවයක්තුලින් වියයුතුයයි විශ්වාෂකළේය. රුසියාව, චිනය හා කිව්බාව මේ විප්ලවයේ සාර්ථක ප්‍රතිපලයන්ය. නමුත් හැම රටකම ආණ්ඩුක්‍රමය ධනවාදී පන්තියෙන් ධනය උපදවන වැඩකරන ජනතාවට පවරා ගැනීම විප්ලවයකින් කලනොහැකිබව තෙරුම්ගත් එවකට තිබු මාක්ස්වාදී පක්ෂ මේ පරාවර්තනය පර්ලිමෙන්තුවතුලින් කරගත හැකියයි සිතුවේය.
ඇරත් එක් මාක්ස්වාදී න්‍යාමයක් අනුව විප්ලවයක් සඳහා සුදුසු වාතාවරණයක් නොමැතිනම් ජනප්‍රිය සමාජවාදයට බර දේශපාලන පක්ෂයක් සමග එක්වී මිනිසුන් අතරට මාක්ස්වාදී අදහස් හඳුන්වාදී ඔවුන්ගේ හිත් මාක්ස් වාදයට හරවාගැනීමට උත්සහගැනීම ඥානාන්විතයයි සඳහන්කරයි. එවක සිටි ලංකා සමසමාජ පක්ෂයේ හා කොමියු නිස්ට් පක්ෂයේ නායකයින්, ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ සාමාජිකයින් මෙන් තරුණමදයෙන් මුලානොවි සිටිය නිසා, ලංකාව විප්ලවයකට සුදුසු නැති සමාජයක් බව හඳුනාගෙන පාර්ලිමේන්තු ආසන සඳහා තරඟකර සමාජවාදය පාර්ලිමෙන්තුව තුලින් හා වෘත්ත්‍යසමිති තුලින් ජනතාවට හඳුන්වා දුන්නෝය.
නමුත් තරුනමදයෙන් අන්දවී සිටිය විජයවීරගේ නායකත්වයෙන් ආරම්භකළ ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ රටේ භායානක විනාශකාරී තත්වයක් ඇතිකර දහස් ගනන් සිංහල බෞද්ධ තරුණයන් පමණක් නොවේ රටේ යහපත් වැඩිහිටියන් පවා මරා දැම්මේය. ජේවීපී කාරයින් ඒ කලවිනාශය ත්‍රස්තවාදීන් කලවිනාශයටත් වඩා දරුණු රටේ ආරක්ෂාව සඳහා සටන් වදින්ට තරම් වීර බෞද්ධසිංහල කොල්ලන් ජේවීපීකාරයන් විසින් අමු අමුවෙ නිකරුනේ මරා දැමීමයි.
දෙමළ ලේඛකයෙක් ලඟදි ලියනවා ත්‍රස්ත වාදය නිසා දරුවෙක් නැතිඋන පව්ලක් උතුරේ නැ කියල. එවගේමයි දකුණේත් ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ මිනීමරු විප්ලවයනිසා දරුවෙක් හෝ ඥාතියෙක් නැතිනොවුණු සිංහල පව්ලක් සොයාගන්නට බෑ. මේ විනාසය සිංහල ජාතිය කවරදාකවත් අමතකකරන්නේ නෑ.
මෙතරම් විනාශකාරී ජාතික ව්‍යාසනයක් කල ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ උන් දැන්, රට ත්රස්තවාදයෙන් බේරාගෙන ජනතාවගේ ජීවන තත්වය උසස්කර රට දියුණුකර ජනතාවට මරණ බියක් නැතිව සාමයෙන් ජීවත්වන්නට ඉඩසලසා දුන් මහින්ද රාජපක්ස හිටපු ජනාධිපතිතුමන් දුෂිතයෙක්ලෙස හඳුන්වන අධමයෝයි.
ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ අද හොරුඅල්ලන, හා රටට ඉමහත් සේවකයක් කල සිංහල බෞද්ධ නායකයින්ට දූශිතයන්යයි කියමින් නිග්‍රහ කර ජනතාවගේ ගෞරවාදරය ඒ අයගෙන් ඉවත්කිරිමට ගන්න අලුත් විප්ලවය, අපට සිහිකරවන්නේ ඔවුන් සිංහල බෞද්ධ තරුණයින් හා වැඩිහිටියන් අමුඅමුවේ මරමරාකල විනාශකාරී යුගයයි.
ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණට පුළුවන් රටහදන වැඩක් කිරීම නොවේ නමුත් විනාශකාරී බලවේගයන් හා එක්වී රට අගාදියට ඇදදමන එකයි. අද ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ කරන්නේ මයිත්‍රීපාල සිරිසේන ජනාධිපතිවරයාටත් රනිල් වික්‍රමසිංහගේ එක්සත් ජාතිකපක්ශයටත් උවමනා හිටපු මහින්ද රාජපක්ස ජනාධිපතිතුමා හා එතුමාට සම්බන්ධ සියලුදෙනාම දේශපාලන භූමියෙන් ඉවත්කිරීමේ මෙහෙවරයි. එයින් ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ බලපොරුත්තුවන්නේ මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මැතිතුමා හා එතුමාට පක්ෂපාත අයගේ බල හීනකර ඔවුන් ජනතාවගේ විශ්වශයෙන් ඈත්කළහොත් ඒ නැතිවන ජනතා විශ්වාසය ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණට ලැබේය යන විශ්වාශයයි.
අද මහින්ද රාජපක්ස මැතිතුමා වෙත ඇති ජනතා විශ්වාසය ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණට ලැබීම කවරදාවත් සිදුවනදෙයක් නොවෙයි. ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ මේ දේශ ද්‍රෝහී ක්‍රියාවෙන් සිදු වන්නේ ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ මහා ජනතාවට තව තවත් එපාවෙන එකයි.
ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ අතකොලුවක්. ඒක හොඳට පෙනෙනවා කොපේ වාර්තාවෙන්. කොපේ වාර්තාවට එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයේ සාමාජිකයින්ට පාදසටහන් දමන්නට උදව් කර තිබෙන්නේ කොපේ සභාපති ජනතා වවිමුක්ති පෙරමුනේ සුනිල් හන්දුනෙත්ති . හන්දුනෙත්ති කියනවා ඔහු යුඇන්පී මන්ත්‍රී හර්ෂද සිල්වා එක්ක මුළු රාත්‍රීයෙ පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ ඉඳගෙන යුඇන්පී සාමාජිකයෝ ගෙනා පාදසටහන් කෝපේ රපොර්තුවට එකතුකරන්න වෙහෙස ගත්තා කියලා. ඔන්න උන දේ.
ඔය කෝප් වාර්තාවෙන් මොනවද සිදුවෙලාතියෙන්නේ. ඒකත් දැම්මම හමස්පෙට්ටියට වැටිලා. රනිල් අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය වරයා දේශපාලන චන්ඩියෙක් -ආඥාදායකක්. ඔහුකරන්නේ ඔහුට හොඳයි කියලා හිතෙන දේ. පේනහැටියට ඔහු ජනාදිපති තුමා තුට්ටුවකටවත් ගණන් ගන්නේ නැ.
ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ හිතාගෙන ඉන්නේ මොනවාහරිකරලා රාජපක්සලා දේශපාලනයෙන් ඉවත් කරගත හොත් යුඇන්පී එකත් එක්ක චන්දයකට ගියොත් තනියම ආණ්ඩුවක් හදන්න චන්ද ප්‍රමාණයක් ගන්න පුලුවංවෙයි කියලා. නමුත් රටේ පේන හැටියට හොරුඅල්ලන විප්ප්ලවය නිසාම ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණ ජනතාවට එපාවෙලා. ලබන චන්දයකින් දැන් තියෙන ආසන හයවත් ගන්න පුලුවන උනොත් ඒක මහා පුදුමයක්.
නමුත් ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුණට ටිකක්වත් හිස උස්සන්න පුළුවන්කමක් තියෙන්නේ සිරිසෙන -රනිල් යුඇන්පී කුට්ටමෙන් අයින්වෙලා මහින්ද රාජපක්ස මැතිතුමා සමග ඉන්න එක්සත් විපක්ෂයත් එක්ක හවුල් උනොත් පමණයි.
මෛත්‍රිපාල සිරිසේන මැතිතුමා ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස්පක්ෂයට කොහෙත්ම පක්ෂපාතිත්වයක් නැ. සිරිසෙන මැතිතුමාත් උදව්කරන්නේ යුඇන්පී එක බලයට ගෙන්නාගන්න. ඒක සිරිසේන ජනාධිපතිතුමත් එක්ක ඉන්න ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පාක්ෂකයින්ට තේරෙන්නේ නෑ.
යුඇන්පී ය වැනි ධනවාදී පක්ෂයකට බලයේ ඉන්න උදව්කරන්න මාක්ස් වාදී නම ගාවගත්තු මොනම දේශපාලන පක්ෂයකට කොහොමටවත් බැ. එහෙම කරන පක්ෂ දේශපාලන මුලධර්මවලට පයින් ගහන්නෝ. ලංකාව අද වැටිලා තියෙන අගාදියෙන් ගලවාගන්න නම් ජනතා විමුක්ති පක්ෂයට හිතන්න පුළුවන් ශක්තියක් තියෙනවානම් හොරුඅල්ලන විප්ලවය අත්හැරදාළ හැම වාමක්ෂික පක්ෂත් සමගේ එකතුවෙලා යුඇන්පී නොහොත් එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂය දේශපාලන ශිතිජයෙන් අහක්කරන්න දැන්වත් උත්සාහ කරන්න කාලය පැමිණ තිබෙනවා.
මක්ස්වාදියෝයි කියාගන්න මේ ජනතා විමුක්තිපෙරමුනට පුලුවන්ද අපට පෙන්නා දෙන්න මාර්කස් වාදී න්‍යාය යන්ගේ කොහෙද ලියලතියෙන්නේ වාමාංශික දේශපාලන පක්ෂයක කාලය හොරුඅල්ලන කටයුත්තට යොදාගත්ත යුතුයයි කියල. වාමාංශික දේශපාලන පක්ෂයක් කල යුත්තේ ධනවාදය ජනතාව රවට්ටාගෙන, ගෙන යන රටට අහිතකර ක්‍රියාදාමයන්ට විරුද්ධව සටන් කරලා සමාජවාදී ආණ්ඩුක්‍රමයක් ගෙන එම සඳහා වාමාංශික පක්ෂයන් සමග එකතුවී බලය තමන්ගේ අතට ගැනීමේ තණ්හාව අත්හැරලා ජනතා හිතයිශි කටයුත්තක් කිරීමයි.
ජනතා වීමුක්ති පෙරමුණ කැමැත්තක් නැ විමල් වීරවංස ඉන්න වාමාංශික කඳවූරට බැඳෙන්න, නමුත් ඇත්තවශයෙන්ම සමාජවාදය ගරුකරන ධනවාධයට විරුද්ධ වාමාන්ෂික සටන ඉදිරියට ගෙනියන්න නම් පුද්ගලික තරහ කොන්ද්‍ර අහක දමලා එක්ව එක්සත්ව සටනක් කලයුතුයි. එසේනැත්නම් ධනවාදය විසින් මාක්ස්වාදය හා ඊට සම්බන්ධ සියලු සමාජවාදී පක්ෂ ලංකාවෙන් සහමුලින්ම අතුගාලා දානවට සැකයක් නැ. ජනතා විමුක්ති පෙරමුන බලාපොරොත්තුවන ඛෙදජනක අවසානය ඒකද ?

Catching the thieves is the very basic and fundamental requirement of a civilized society and this writer, insulting the Buddhist culture is against it.
There is no connection between helping to catch thieves and socialism. Helping to catch thieves is a great human quality done with great sacrifice which the writer does nto understand at all, blinded by LOVE of a MAN.
If he want to accuse JVP of not following socialism, he should adress it with facts to prove how they went against it, rather than accusing them of helping to catch thieves.
The writer is interested in praising the politicians he likes even if they are daylight robbers and critisizing those who expose those robberies.

අර්ථික තීන්දු ගැනීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය දේශපාලනීකරණය වීම
ශ්‍යාම් නුවන් ගනේවත්ත

මේ ඓතිහාසික යථාර්ථය හෙළි කරන ඉතා නිර්භීත ප්‍රකාශයක්‌ පසුගියදා මහ බැංකු අධිපති ආචාර්ය ඉන්ද්‍රජිත් කුමාරස්‌වාමි විසින් සිදු කළේ ය. ඔහු මේ ප්‍රකාශය කළේ ඉකුත් නොවැම්බර් 29 වැනිදා මහ බැංකු මූලස්‌ථානයේදී පැවැති මාධ්‍ය හමුවේදී ය. මහ බැංකුව දේශපාලනීකරණය වී ඇති බවට ඊට පෙර දිනක මුදල් අමාත්‍යාංශයේදී පැවැති ප්‍රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවකදී මුදල් ඇමැති රවි කරුණානායක මහතා කීවේය. මුදල් ඇමැතිවරයාගේ මේ චෝදනාව ගැන මේ ලියුම්කරු මහ බැංකු අධිපතිවරයාගෙන් කළ විමසුමකට පිළිතුරු දෙමින් මහ බැංකු අධිපති ආචාර්ය ඉන්ද්‍රජිත් කුමාරස්‌වාමි මහතා එම ප්‍රවෘත්ති සාකච්ඡාවේදී මෙසේ ප්‍රකාශ කළේය.
“මම නම් හිතන්නෙ නෑ මහ බැංකුව දේශපාලනීකරණය වෙලා කියලා. මම මාස පහක්‌ ඉඳල තියෙනවා. ඒ මාස පහේ එහෙම දෙයක්‌ මම දුටුවේ නෑ. මහ බැංකුවේ සහ මුදල් මණ්‌ඩලයේ වගකීම් ගැන මුදල් නීති පනතේ පැහැදිලිවම සඳහන් වෙනවා. මුදල් මණ්‌ඩලය සහ මහ බැංකුවේ ජ්‍යෙෂ්ඨ කළමනාකාරීත්වය මහ බැංකුවට පැවරී ඇති වගකීම් ඉටු කිරීමේදී ඉතා ඉහළම වෘත්තීයමය භාවයකින් කටයුතු කරනවා. ඒ නිසා මහ බැංකුව තුළ කිසිදු දේශපාලනීකරණයක්‌ ඇතැයි මම සිතන්නේ නෑ.
මම හිතන විදිහට පසුගිය වසර 60 , 70 ක කාලයේ දී රටේ ආර්ථික තීන්දු තීරණ ගැනීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය ඉහළ දේශපාලනීකරණයට ලක්‌ව තිබීම තමයි ප්‍රශ්නය. මම හිතන විදිහට ඒක තමයි ඇත්ත අභියෝගය. දේශපාලනය සහ ආර්ථිකය අතර තුලනය වෙනස්‌ කිරීම. ආර්ථිකයෙන් දේශපාලනය අයින් කරන්න බෑ. ඒaත් පසුගිය වසර 70 දී දේශපාලනීකරණය වැඩියි. ඒ නිසා මම පුද්ගලිකව හිතන්නේ ඒක තමයි අභියෝගය. අපි ඒක වෙනස්‌ කරන්න ඕන. අපි සාර්ව ආර්ථික කළමනාකරණයේදී ඉහළම විනයකින් ප්‍රශස්‌ත ලෙස කටයුතු කිරීම අත්‍යවශ්‍යයි. පසුගිය වසර 70 දී අපි ඒක දැක්‌කෙ නෑ. ඒ නිසා අපි වෙනස්‌ විය යුතුයි. ඒ නිසා ආර්ථික තීන්දු තීරණ ගැනීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය දේශපාලනීකරණය වීම හැකිතාක්‌ අවම කරගන්න ඕන. ඒකයි අපි මුහුණ දී සිටින අභියෝගය. අපි ඒ වෙනස ඇති කර ගන්න උත්සාහ කරන්න ඕන.”

ඇත්ත වශයෙන් මුදල් නීති පනත අනුවම මහ බැංකුව වූ කලී ඉතාම ස්‌වාධීන ආයතනයකි. මහ බැංකුව ඉතිහාසයේ හැමදාම තිබුණේ මුදල් අමාත්‍යාංශය යටතේය. එහෙත් ප්‍රථම වතාවට මහ බැංකුව මුqදල් අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් ඉවත් කර ජාතික ප්‍රතිපත්ති හා ආර්ථික කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශය යටතට ගැසට්‌ කර තිබේ. මේ ගැසට්‌ කිරීම ගැන අපට නම් සිතෙන්නේ එය රටේ මුදල් නීති පනතටත් පටහැනිව සිදුකළ දේශපාලන ක්‍රියාවක්‌ බවය. මුදල් නීති පනතේ හැම විටම සඳහන් වන්නේ මුදල් අමාත්‍යාංශය ගැනය. එහෙත් අද මුදල් අමාත්‍යාංශයට මහ බැංකුව පමණක් නොව අනෙකුත් රාජ්‍ය බැංකු ද අයිති නැත. මහ බැංකුව ආර්ථික කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශයට ගැසට්‌ කරන විට අනෙකුත් රාජ්‍ය බැංකු ගැසට්‌ කර ඇත්තේ කබීර් හෂීම් ඇමැතිවරයාගේ රාජ්‍ය ව්‍යවසාය සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යාංශයට ය. මේ නිසා ඇතැම් අය පවසන පරිදි බැංකු අයිති නැති මුදල් ඇමැතිවරයා අද වන විට අය වැය කියෑවීමේ ඇමැති බවට පත්ව තිබේ. අයවැය හැදීමේ පූර්ණ වගකීම පවා අද මුදල් අමාත්‍යාංශයට තිබෙන බවක්‌ අපට පෙනෙන්නට නැත. ඒ නිසා අය වැයේ ඇති ඇතැම් අය වැය යෝජනා සම්බන්ධයෙන්ද මුදල් ඇමැතිවරයාට එතරම් පූර්ණ අවබෝධයක්‌ තිබෙන බවක්‌ පෙනෙන්නට ද නැත. වාහන දඩ සම්බන්ධ කාරණයේදී ද එය පැහැදිලි විය. අය වැය කතාවේ ඇති දේ නිවැරැදිව එලෙසින්ම වාර්තා කළත් මුදල් ඇමැතිවරයා මුලින් කීවේ මාධ්‍ය විසින් එය වැරදි ලෙස අර්ථකථනය කළ බවයි. එහෙත් එය එසේ නොවන බව පසුව පැහැදිලි විය.

The JVP has ALWAYS been self-serving Viplavakarayas who brainwashed our innocent youth and pitted them against our people.
I met many of the leaders of the 1971 JVP rebellion in Peradeniya Univ, never at ending to their studies, but always trying to incite disaffection among the students. For me admission to the university was a heaven sent gift, but to them it was a opportunity to create a leadership cadre to disrupt the motherland.
They destroyed some our best and brightest students, and blighted the lives of untold thousands more for ever. What a TREMENDOUS WASTE … just like what Prabhakaran did later with Tamils, and what the present day EELAMISTS like Wigneswaran, Sivajilingam and Sampanthan, and Sumanthiran are continuing to do to the Tamils today.
I charge the JVP of responsibility for the DEATHS of thousands of our children, exposing the military weakness of our nation to our real enemies in India and the communal Tamil separatists, and paving the way for the EELAM conflict.

Despite all the blunders, the government (Sirisena and UNP) can win the next national election easily because there is no perceived cleaner alternative. Nearing the next major election, they will arrest Rajapaksas, convict them, imprison them for a short while and release them. That will prevent them contesting elections. The process is delayed so that no alternative to Rajapaksas will emerge. By eliminating the Rajapaksa clan from contesting the election, the government will annul all opposition. JVP is hardly an opposition party. It is party to the government.
This is why it is important to have a perceived cleaner alternative with no visible traces of nepotism to challenge this government.
We should not forget this government received a very strong mandate to punish alleged wrongdoers of the previous regime. As can be seen from the arrest and/or harassment of Basil, Gotabhaya, Namal, Yoshitha, Shiranthi, Sashi, Wimal, Udaya, etc. people don’t come forward to protect these persons. With economic, defence, foreign relations and all other blunders, the only way this regime can survive is by oppressing the JO group and they will not hesitate to do so when the time comes.
Unlike Tamil Nadu where power always shifts between Jeya and Karuna, Sri Lankans are not so “grateful” or attached to political idols. I don’t think any state or nation can beat Tamil Nadu in terms of gratefulness to political idols. Hopefully Sri Lanka will not fall into that low level of subservience.
The need to form a perceived cleaner alternative sans nepotism is felt most badly.

You are absolutely correct in your analysis of JVP’s objectives
The JVP knows that the UNP has much weaker support than the SLFP among the majority Sinhala Buddhists, and that the SLFP ES allied to the Rajapaksas is the greater barrier to the JVP some day gaining a majority of the seats in Parliament.
Therefore, their strategy is to EXPEL from politics and PREVENT the Rajapaksa faction from returning to power. Then, they know that they can effective exploit the class struggle arguments against the UNP to win the support of the majority of citizens.
To that end, the JVP is WILLING to deal with even the TNA and other minorities trying to divide the country into separatist regions. Their only purpose is to exploit the current opening created by the TREACHERY of Sirisena which had enfeebled and divided the SLFP to demonize, discredit and expel the Rajapaksa-led patritiotuc faction of the SLFP. The JVP are NOT NATIONALISTS, they are motivated by the CLASS-STRUGGLE and they are willing to do ANYTHING to propel themselves into power.
The fact of the matter is that the JVP have AGAIN MISREAD they Sinhala Buddhist people, as they did in the past when they exploited the impressionable and immature Sinhala youth to lsuch violent rebelling but never gaimed the supper of the vas majority of our people. They have still not learned snything from their past follies.
We Sinhala Buddhists will never accept this commumist class-struggle ideology of the exyreme left, as we also reject the extreme capitalist elitist ideology of the rightist UNP. We Sinhala Buddhist believe deeply in a MIDDLE PATH that is neither 100% Communist nor 100% Capitalist. Ever since Sri Lanka achieved independence, it has not swung too far from this moderate middle-path consistent with the teachings of Buddhism, the faith of the preponderant majority of the Sri Lankan people. And in this middle-path the hearts and minds of the majority of our people remain.
It is this adherence to the Buddhist middle-path that has enabled Sri Lanka, despite JVP insurgencies and EELAM terrorism amount to a civil war, to create an equitable and egalitarian society that ranks highly in global indices if social achievement, in stark contrast to most other countries in our region including India that arrogantly preaches good governance to us. This middle-path is something must cling to desperately in the future as well.
The JVP will continue to SPOIL THE SOUP for the patriotic Sri Lankans, but they will only delay the RESURGENCE of the Patriotic Sinhala Buddhists, they will never achieve their goal of gaining dominance in Sri Lanka.
Many vociferous Sinhala anti-MR activists who troll payritic websites undermining the Patriotic cause are JVPers. Many of the older JVP Viplavakarayas fled Sri Lanka and now live in self-imposed exile in foreign countries; but they are continuing to serve as JVP propagandists, still hell bent on their Viplavakari agenda.
Most recently, Gunaratnam (an Australian citizen and the Leader of the Frontline Socialist Party responsible for inciting student violence recently) was released this week after 1-year imprisonment for illegally entering Sri Lanka under the giuse of Noel Mudalige. He and his party has goals very similar to the JVP: unlimited mayhem in their fanatical quest for dictatorial power.

G. L. Accused Of Busting Rs. 870 Million

A controversial purchase of a property in Brazil by the former government has been revealed with the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Professor G. L. Peiris being accused of direct involvement. The purchase was made in order to establish the Sri Lankan Embassy in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro spending a colossal sum of Rs. 870 million.
“A formal complaint will be lodged with the FCID, CID, Bribery commission and the Presidential Commission investigating allegations of serious fraud or corruption by a group of UNP Ministers,“ sources said.
The government is believed to have unearthed vital details in connection to the said purchase without the approval of the cabinet and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has spent the amount thus squandering public funds.
This has once again raised concerns about the approach of the Mahinda Rajapakse administration which had unlawfully maneuvered the Central Bank, UNP sources said.
It is alleged that Professor G. L. Peiris had persuaded the purchase and recommended the property introduced to him by a third party closely associated with him.

Importing rice incurs Rs.18600 million loss

The government has incurred a loss of Rs. 18600 million due to importing rice says JVP Parliamentarian Sunil Handunneththi in Parliament yesterday (2nd).
The import of rice carried out in 2014 caused a large scale financial loss said Mr. Handunneththi. The loss was due to importing 250,210 metric tons from A.C.P. Company in India without any approval from the cabinet and when the farmer community in this country had to heap paddy by the side of roads unable to sell their produce he pointed out.
Mr. Handunneththi said Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) would carry out an investigation regarding this and would take measures to present a report to Parliament soon.
He revealed that A.C.P. Company that imported the stock of rice for the government was not a company that imported rice and the process of import has not been carried out in a methodical manner. He said the stock of rice cannot be sold even for Rs.38 a kilo at present.
The rice was imported in batches of 50,000 metric tons, 100,000 metric tons, 60 metric tons and 25 metric tons since 15th October, 2014. During this period 40,000 metric tons of rice was bought from local farmers. As Customs did not release the stocks of rice imported the government had to pay Rs. 360 million as demurrage said Mr. Handunneththi.
Mr. Handunneththi made this revelation participating in committee stage of the budget debate.

Ananda can you imagine giving a speech in appreciation of Mahinda Rajapakse in Sirikotha ?
All UNP governments beginning from that of DS had been accused of corruption. The last that of Ranil crowns them all. He demonstrated how a mega theft could be committed without getting caught. His bond scam was almost perfect. His chum he brought all the way from Singapore to get him millions, did a good job and he been rewarded for his troubles appointing him as adviser to Prime Minister to find million jobs. They stole but left nothing tangible for the benefit of the people. On the other hand Mahinda Rajapaksa has stolen nothing though much publicity is being given for thefts during his regime. By shouting there were thefts during Rajapakse regime does not prove there had been thefts, and no theft has been proved as had been committed during that regime.
But theft or not theft, one thing at least cannot be denied, which is that Rajapakse regime had eliminating terrorism and ended 30 years of suffering and living in fear of death. That no one can disprove even Sirisena or Ranil. That no regime before that of Rajapakse had done.
Now there is nothing being done for the welfare of the ordinary people other than every body searching for thieves, while they themselves continue to live stealing the peoples money.

It is amazing how the JVP IS ALWAYS MISLED !
The JVP had idealism, but was always MISLED, same as the LTTE.
The first protest by the JVP was due to Unemployment, a legitimate cause. The govt of that time did not give proper attention to their plea. Instead, the Mrs B govt. with the Marxists in tow, came down on them and wiped off most of them.
The second protest by the JVP was due to the illegal 13-A imposed by INDIA on the JRJ govt in 1987. There again, the govt of Pres Premadasa came down heavily on the JVP and virtually wiped them out.
The LTTE too was misled by the Tamil leaders of that time and the V’koddai Resoln was brought to gain Eelam using Violence (1976). The LTTE too got wiped out.
New and life supportive methods of handling the grievances of Rural Youth (especially) must be devised if Lanka is to remain whole and move forward in creative unity.
Some suggestions :
1. More Co-operatives at grass roots level.
2. More Free Trade Zones all over the island.
3. Education geared to Jobs.
The UNP led Yahap plan to virtually divide and sell off Lanka will not work.

Notes on the past :
* Lanka’s leaders acted in the way they did in the past due to Cold War (1946-1991) politics and the aftermath.
* As far as I know, at that time, the only scholarships awarded to the rural youth came from the then Soviet Union. The then JVP leader, Rohana Wijeweera, was given such a scholarship.

Yes. That is “as far as Fran knows”.
But others know more.
1. There was no such scholarship for “rural youth”, but there were scholarships for youth who are bright but who have insufficient marks to entre Universities to do the degree they want to do ( based on A/L results). Actually there were many from Colombo Schools ( probably majority)
3. That produced Engineers, Doctors and Scientist ( one of such friends is a top scientist in Canada)- not only Rohana Wijeweera.
4. Rohana Wijeweera was expelled from Russia for doing politics than Medicine for which he was given the opportunity.
5. Dr. Ruwan Jayathunga is another name our Mariyakade Hora Degree Kaaraya was blind to see his photos even pasted without fear.

Rohana got a Distinction in the Russian Language in the first year of his scholarship studies there. He did his Medical studies up to the 3rd year and fell ill in late 1963 and returned to then Ceylon. He did not get a visa to return to Russia to complete his studies as had joined, after he returned, a pro-Chinese group in Ceylon.
Of course, the scholarships offered by Russia were for the bright rural youth – that is an assumption that we can make even without any confirmation as such. No country would scholarships to anyone if that student was not bright.
In the case of Rohana, his father’s association with Dr S.A. Wickremasinghe in the Matara area was well known. Dr S.A. Wickremasinghe was a lead figure in the down South Communist Party. Doubtless the connection helped Rohana get the scholarship to Russia to study Medicine.

On the whole the JVP has been a terrible curse to Sri Lanka. Although they claim to have “Principles” they really have none. Their only objective is to grab absolute power someday by hook or by crook by exploiting Sri Lanka’s problems and joinon the DEVIL if need be to do it.
A more PATRIOTIC and PRINCIPLED party would have used the DEMOCRATIC freedoms available in Sri Lanka from the beginning of independence itself, to convince e the people and become a major party a pale of being elected to power. By the same token, if the people REJECT their ideas, they should accept that REJECTION as the democratic will of the people who are sovereign. There was never sny COMPELLING REASON to resort to VIOLENCE.
Instead, when the FORCE OF ARGUMENT failed to gain public acceptance, they resorted to the ARGUMENT OF FORCE of overturning the demoratic governments (SLFP and UNP) elected by the popular will of the sovereign people.
The JVP are the Sinhala Kotiyas, completely UNTRUSTWORTHY, BIDING their time to CREATE an OPPORTUNITY to launch a violent rebellion again.
I have NO SYMPATHY for the JVP, nor do I TRUST them to democratically exercise power if they do get it. They are not committed to abiding by the laws of the land, or accepting the sovereignity of the people, despite the CHARADE of their current participation in Parliament.

I agree with you re the rioting and ugly side of revolution proposed by the JVP, when their requests fell on deaf ears.
The fact that they were virtually ignored by the govt in Colombo is the root cause of the troubles.
They were ignored due to the ongoing Cold War, the govt tilting toward the west, whilst the JVP of course was with the Sov Union, at least initially.

A re-cap of events to understand the JVP :
After nearly 500 yrs of Colonisation which marginalised the rural people further and further –
The Cold War (1946-1991 and the simmering aftermath), played its part in all this.
The Colombo Marxists were generally products of the London School of Economics and westernised, and not students from Moscow as Rohana etc were. Rohana W also received a distinction in Political Economics (Sov Union), in 1963. They did not see eye to eye on politics. Dr N.M. Perera etc who were with Mrs B’s govt saw the JVP with a ‘jaundiced eye’. The JVP did not receive any sympathy from the Colombo Marxists. Therein lies the grave trouble. The rural youth had no sympathy from Colombo, no one to listen to their troubles re Unemployment. That is the reason why they turned to violence.
According a senior Police member in those times, I heard that the Police has submitted a ‘thick file’ on the JVP to the relevant authorities in Mrs B’s govt but no action was taken at that time when the outfit was small.
The second time around, the events were similar. The JVP had no hearing on their plea to turn down the 13-A, and so turned to violence.
Lesson Learnt must be that the rural youth from all over the island must be given a hearing when they want to voice their grievances as a group.
Correct me if I am wrong in any of the above statements.

Every opposition political party is IGNORED Most of the time by the government in power.
But, the way to overcome that is by turning to the people, CONVINCING THEM for more support, and getting elected to Parliament using their votes.
But, the JVP does not do that. If they are ignored by the govt and can’t get more people support, they resort to violence to IMPOSE their will.
That us the problem. In a Parliamentary democracy only support from the voters merits a hearing. If the JVP does not have that, they don’t have to be listened to. That is the way our democratic system works.
Being ignored is not a valid excuse for resorting to violence when a peaceful democratic path is available for them to get heard.

The ROOT cause is not the grievances of rural people, but the commitment of brainwashed political agitators to violent revolution to impose their will on a country as a quick alternative to the slow and hard democratic path to power.
They have studied and learned the lessons of the Russian revolution, the Nazi revolution in Germany, the Chinese communist revolution, the Cuban revolution etc.
In a number of these revolutions, a small minority either exploited an existing national crisis, or engineered a new national crisis, that enabled them to seize power.
Rohan Wijeweera and others who attended Moscow Univ in the then Soviet Union were trained not in Economics but in Political Revolution and there is no way to remove that brainwashing from their minds.
On the other hand, SWRD’s movement was also a revolution, but it was a revolution that abided with the laws of the land, was compatible with the prevailing democratic system, and most importantly had the support of the vast majority of the people.
SWRD’s revolution benefited the common people of Sri Lanka far more than the violent rebellions of the JVP because he sought and gained the voluntary support of the people.
SWRD captured the imagination and support of his people with his IDEAS!
If SWRD could do it democratically, why not the JVP? Is it that their message is not aceptable to a people committed to a moderate middle-path? Did their second rebellion fail because they had lost the trust of the people with the methods they used? Is it because their methods raised a such a great fear in the minds of the people that they could not trust them to rule their country and their lives?
I think it is all of those reasons that the majority of Sri Lankans, the Sinhala Buddhists in particular, will never allow the JVP to gain absolute governmental power in Sri Lanka. The JVP will remain a small fringe party forever.

More thoughts on the subject :
The training in those days that people like Rohana W received was in their studies, and Revolution & Communism as well, if they went for studies in the then Sov Union.
If the GoSL of that time was opposed to such training, then the youth of the country ought not to have gone to the then Sov Union for studies & being trained in their political philosophy, Revolution & Communism.
We have to admit that the fault lay in the more educated, westernised and sophisticated, GoSL, and not with the youth who were sent for studies & training to the then Sov Union.
The GoSL was not naive about the facts of studies plus training in the then Sov Union ?? !!
However, the past tragedies are in the past, and the GoSL must now learn lessons from all that happened.
Lesson for GoSL : The rural youth must be given a hearing, a sympathetic ear, when they voice their problems.

I agree with you.
Most of my own charitable work in Sri Lanka is focused on helping poor rural children and their families.
Also, a sympathetic ear for disadvantaged rural people is the focus of the Patriotic SLFP and is why pCharles and I support the Patriotic faction of the now split SLFP.
That is also a recurring theme that runs through Charles’s articles.

Sunil (JVP MP) is fantastic. He LOST the election in 2015 but in 2020 he will WIN most votes after RUN-NIL from Colombo.
He did the REPORT on the BOND FRAUD too.
We should support him IF we are patriotic. It does NOT matter what party he is from. As long as he works for SL, we should support him.
His latest fraud is the RICE FRAUD in 2014. 19 BILLION rupees was wasted to IMPORT RICE ILLEGALLY from TAMIL NADU, BENGAL and ANDRA PRADESH when SL had enough rice. SL farmers could NOT sell their rice but some TAMIL IMPORTERS in Colombo profited in BILLIONS. I know some of them. But they voted for Sirisena!!!
RICE FRAUD was done to profit TAMIL IMPORTERS to buy their support for the election. But they KEPT the PROFIT and supported Sirisena!!
This is the BIGGEST RICE FRAUD in the world. How low you have to go to do FRAUD on the STAPLE FOOD of the people!

Thank you Dilrook , outlook for Sri Lanka as it is, is not very bright. Sirisena won because of the Tamil and Muslim votes. They will continue to vote for him in full strength and as the Sinhala vote is divided it is likely that the Yahapalanay will continue. The SLFP faction with Sirisena will not budge as they have the Ministerial posts and the perks falling from the tables of the President and Prime Minister . Sarath Amunugama is attacking the JO and praising the Yahapalanaya. Catching thieves from the previous government of Rajapakse’s is still the past time that yahapalanay is more actively engaged in. If their personal requirements are met what does it matter to the SLFPers with Sirisena, as to what would happens to the country. JVP cannot go on for ever running after thieves… people are fed up, catching thieves is not what the people want. They want respectable living condition, and reduction in cost of living .
Thank you Ananda, let us hope that the yahapalanaya will end up soon. There is a limit to the patience of the people. People are intelligent, they see that going after the Rajapakse regime to catch thieves is a ruse, to cover up their evident nakedness of the absence of positive action to save the country and make the living conditions of the people better. The Yahapalanaya shields the thieves amoung them making a noise about thieves they have created in their minds. JVP is only helping the UNP to survive, they have no sympathy towards Sirisena’s SLFP. Cope Report is not in news any more. They have instead arrested Karuna Ammana and taken Nimal Siripala de Siva for questioning. Every thing is going wrong in the country… there seems to be no way out.

This is how the above well known Sri Lanka haters and CIA agents plan to hoodwink the Sinhala people, distract their attention by they and their subordinates talking and writing about all other topics on the planet earth except one which is the proposed federal constitution. In this way, they plan to hoodwink the Sinhala people and get this treacherous federal constitution passed in parliament. Once passed, it cannot ever be reversed and this country will be partitioned as the US,UK,EU, Canada,Norway,Sweden, the TNA and all other separatists want. Their plan is ‘Sinhalayage asata weli gasaa rata hatharata bedana kuuta kumanthranaya’. They plan to make this plan a success.
The reality is that the US State Department has spent US$585 million to bring about regime change in Sri Lanka, Burma, Nigeria and quite a number of other countries as even stated by them. At least US$58 million of this would have been provided to the above mentioned CIA agents i.e. Kumar David, Pakiasothy Sarvanamuththu etc. to launch their koota plan of distracting Sinhala people’s attention talking about all other topics except the most important i.e. the proposed federal constitution.
In this they are ably supported by the UNP/Sirisena SLFP/Ranil/CBK/Mangala/Pacha Ranawaka/Dath Dosthara Rajitha Senaratne/Wijedasa Rajapakshe/JVP/FLSP/TNA/ACTC/ITAK/TULF/SLMC/ACMC etc. who are also being paid by the US,UK,EU, Canada,Norway,Sweden, the TNA and all other separatists in order to pass this federal constitution.
Already parliamentary MPs have been bribed using 2 lakhs cash, pajeros, a seven lakhs cash loan etc. In fact their foreign advisors already told Ranil and the UNP at a conference ‘whatever you do, do not loose the two thirds majority in parliament!!!’. This is to pass this treacherous federal constitution. This is their cunning plan.
Not only that on the 27th of November Shivajilingam said on TV itself, we are so very near obtaining our Eelam!!! That says it all does it not?
In fact the US,EU,UK.Canada, Sweden, Norway, the TNA, all other separatists have spent so much money for three decades to partition Sri Lanka, in fact billions of US dollars by now indirectly supporting the terrorists the LTTE. They want their investment back now with interest. So they are definitely going to pass this proposed federal constitution by bribing parliamentary MPs as shown above.
Please patriotic Sri Lankans do not let this happen. Already we have provincial councils which is a reasonable solution as far as the requirements for decentralisation of power is concerned. There is no need whatsoever to go further than this if Sri Lanka is to remain a unitary state. Already Sri Lanka is quasi federal. If this treacherous federal constitution is passed tiny little Sri Lanka will be in at least four pieces or nine pieces or more and be partitioned forever into pieces.
