Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake challenges former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to take legal action

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake on Monday challenged the former President to take legal action if a ‘forged’ signature used in the controversial gazette on a bond auction.

He expressed this view while speaking to reporters at a press conference held in Colombo.

However, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa earlier said the gazette on the bond sale is an attempt to mislead the public and plan of the Yahapalana government.

I will be taking legal action in this regard, he said in a statement on Sunday. I’m seeking legal assistance to sue the Finance Ministry and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Rajapaksa said.
