A Muslim eatery in Ampara was the subject of alleged mixing of sterilizing pills in food. A tense situation broke out. Although the police arrested alleged suspects, politicians will ensure they get away. The cashier of the hotel is seen admitting to the offence on camera.

This is not the first time Muslims were arrested over involuntary administration of abortion and sterilizing pills to unsuspecting Sinhala people including children. This is terrorism and must be dealt with sternly. New laws must be introduced to give the death penalty to those who engage in this dastardly act of terrorism. Otherwise victimized Sinhala people will also resort to same action against Muslims.
This is a worldwide act of terrorism that is fast spreading. What is worse is the alleged culprits are the same!

People must be advised not to patronize eateries similar in nature to the alleged eatery in ownership, name, cooks and cashiers.
Government must act now before things get out of hand. The alleged act is a war crime, a crime against humanity and a definite act of terrorism. The Hague Convention (1907) classifies the use of poisons as weapons a war crime and a crime against humanity.

Air, Water & Food Safety/Purity, must be maintained at the highest possible levels.
Air, Water & FOOD contamination, if purposely done, must be treated as a criminal offence. Depending on the seriousness of the crime and intent, carry a possible Death Penalty.
Suggestion : Safe Birth Control material be given FREE by govts to any adult, anywhere in the world. That would be a wise move, rather than have unwanted pregnancies.
Birth Control should not be forced on anyone.

What a dirty lot of a group these Muslims are? never heard of these savage tactics in a civilized society.
But SLPP should be very careful not getting into these confrontations ,remember Aluthgama,could backfire if not handled carefully. Sinhalese should start a campaign to reject visiting Muslim restaurants etc specially in the East.
BTW I’m intrigued by Ranil took the Law Ministry just for two weeks? Was it intended with ulterior motives or was he forced to give it up later? If intended is it because he intends to destroy evidence in Bond scam etc which he & his cronies involved or does he want to bring Mahendran to the country to the courts within these two weeks while he is the Law Minister so that Mahendran will have a safe passage back to S’pore?

I think the most important thing is to calm down, any civil unrest (other than against the Govt) will be detrimental to SLPP.Please calm down & if there is a truth behind this take action intelligently. Do not rock the boat at this time please.

That is correct Neela. The most prominent doctor who was quoted as saying there are no such compounds has denied saying so. He admits there are plenty of substances not found in Sri Lankan pharmacies that cause male and female infertility and cause miscarriage.
The list is even longer than that. Some spices can also cause it when used excessively. Once again these are used for the purpose in countries like Pakistan, Sudan, etc. as a weapon.

What is needed is law and order (hilarious as it is under a joker) to deter these by introducing the death penalty to the offenders and carrying it out. This matter is larger than party politics. Sinhalese already have the lowest population growth rate (0.84%) compared to astronomical growth rates for Muslims and Tamils (2%). If everyone turns away the extremist plan will work. Then those politicians will wonder why they don’t have the number of voters they used to have. It is a matter of life and death for Sri Lanka as we know it.

I AGREE with Charitsis and Fran Diaz that these anti-Muslim events could be DELIBERATELY ENGINEERED by those who want to DIVERT ATTENTION away from the Yamapalanaya Crimes and MALIGN the Patritic Movement led by the Pohottuwa.
Recall that the REGIME CHANGE of Jan 8, 2015 was preceded by similar anti-Muslim and anti-Christian violence that helped to TURN THOSE MINORITIES AGAINST the MR/UPFA Govt.

Ampara is fast returning to normal, the Industry and Commerce Ministry said in a statement yesterday, with efforts being made to establish an inter-religious peace committee to quell community tensions.
“The suggestion to immediately form an Inter-Religious Peace Committee (IRPC) for Ampara city is a great step to unite the worried people of Ampara,” Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen said, following a visit to Ampara yesterday (28 February).
Bathiudeen was responding to the suggestion by respected monk Ven. Suhadagama Seelarathana Nayaka Thero at Ampara Mandala Maha Viharaya Temple premises, during his meeting with the Ven. Nayaka Thero.
Bathiudeen, who flew to Ampara on the morning of 28 February, was joined at this meeting by Ampara District Deputy Inspector General of Police Nuwan Wedasinghe, STF Ampara Zonal Chief Athula Ratnayake, and Ampara District Secretary Thusitha P. Wanigasinghe, among others.
Ven. Seelarathana Nayaka Thero, updating Bathiudeen on the situation following the riots of 27 February, assured that things have calmed. “My suggestion is to immediately form an Inter-Religious Peace Committee (IRPC) for Ampara city,” he said, and added, “representatives from all religions in Ampara should be part of it, and IRPC will closely monitor peace and reconciliation. I believe the Government and police officials with us at this meeting to be part of IRPC.”
“The suggestion to immediately form an Inter-Religious Peace Committee (IRPC) for Ampara city is a great step to unite the worried people of Ampara,” praised Bathiudeen. He added: “People were not attacked, but their properties were destroyed along with a mosque. The result is the fear that gripped the Muslim populace here. Therefore IRPC is important, and it needs to be formulated immediately with your leadership. We shall extend our fullest cooperation for this.”
Previously, on 27 February, Bathiudeen severely condemned attacks that took place in Ampara city, targeting a mosque and several businesses in Ampara city. During the 27 February Cabinet meeting, he called on the Government to take “immediate and strict action” on the wrongdoers, saying that the Government should compensate for the losses. A mosque, a lodging place adjoining the mosque, several small shops close to the mosque, a street-side hotel, and several vehicles were set alight by a group of men on the early hours of 27 February, after an argument erupted between some men and the owner of a street-side hotel in Ampara town.
During his visit to Ampara, Bathiudeen also met affected people in the city and had discussions with them, assuring that the new Committee would come into effect soon to safeguard them.
