The Supreme Court has informed Speaker Karu Jayasuriya that several sections of the Judicature Bill were inconsistent with the Constitution and therefore, it should be passed by a two-thirds majority in Parliament, if not amended as recommended by the Judiciary. Speaker Kayasuriya conveyed the Supreme Court opinion to Parliament today.
