   This is misleading.

   Almost all of the 18 are drug dealers.

   Yes; they are not the kingpins of the drug trade and they are lower level leaders. But still they are drug dealers and something is better than nothing.

   It is a matter of time kingpins are hanged when their appeals are finalised. If the court decides they are innocent, then obviously they must not be punished. If the court decides otherwise their turn comes.

   Then further misleading about 14 top drug dealers who are foreigners. So what? They are still drug dealers. Punishing all drug dealers must start from somewhere and it need not be perfect. Something is better than nothing. Why seek perfection in a country nothing is even close to perfect!

   Neomal was a good officer but he too is in trouble over yet to be proven prison massacre. If found guilty he also face hanging! Of course he’s not the kingpin behind the massacre. Hopefully the kingpin will also be hung going by the logic of this article!

   Shyamali Perera is the only woman and she’s not a drug dealer. But she has done a crime punishable by death.

   Hopefully death penalty is carried out soon and continue.

   I am with Dilrook on this.

   All drug dealers condemned to death should indeed be hanged as soon as possible.

   If the big drug dealers condemned to death who are continuing to run their drug networks are not on this list, their names should be added promptly to the execution list.

   As in the case of the LTTE murderers, it is high time strong action was taken to protect our people and our society before Sri Lanka becomes a drug dealer run country like Mexico or Venezuela.

   “Yet to be proven” by Sri Lanka police or CID cannot be trusted. When “yet to be proven” become proved, some people insist of death penalty. But it becomes “proved” according to the choice some big politicians.
   How could such unjustified convictions are used to hang people or shoot down when opportunity comes to save the political survival of the big politicians ?
   Most important is the total revamp of justice system. Then only talking about “death penalty” or any “penalty” become relevant. In Sri Lanka at the moment and in last 20 years, there is no proper justice system.

   Foolish Sirisena is not serious about it. As with the polythene ban, Glyphosate ban, asbestos ban and many other initiatives, he will backtrack. He is an insult to executive presidency.

   Bring on death penalty to get rid of traitor dehapaluwan and low life sub human dealing with death drug dealers and
   make this country a peaceful place to live.

   Not killing drug kingpins and killing lesser drug dealers and therefore it is not effective is retarded logic. If we followed this logic in war, we would never have won the war. We killed so many LTTE terrorists including child terrorists and women terrorists before killing the LTTE kingpin! LTTE leader was killed on the last day of the war!

   So killing lesser drug dealers before killing drug barons and kingpins is the right thing to do. By and by we will get to the bottom of it.
