Although PanaduraVadaya, which took place 145 years ago, is a well-known debate, the contemporary documents are not much known. Hence most of the analysis and research are conducted using secondary sources. Contemporary newspapers, magazines and notes of the debate as well as the notes by the eyewitnesses are of utmost importance for studies of the debate. This lecture presents the results of a study on contemporary documents of PanaduraVadaya.
