Even MR is in the camp for abolishing the Executive Presidency all of a sudden.
This is dangerous as the nation cannot trust the MP’s in the Parliament and any time the Ealam can be declared with the majority because our MP’s can be bought by LieTTE money and other facilities by LieTTE supporting West.
If the EP system to be abolished, we have to abrogate 13A before that and also the preferential system has to be removed.
Then the best thing is to go back to NM and Colvin’s “Janaraja constitution” and at the same time abolish the EP.
Two birds in one stone.
But the issue is, who will propose this?. We are only commenting here and what purpose it does no one knows.
