Parliament, August 21 (Daily Mirror)- Former SJB MP Thalatha Athukorala, who resigned as an MP, said she wondered whether Sajith Premadsa was trying to act the second episode of the Gotabaya Rajapaksa era.
Making a special statement in parliament, she said the politicians must at least learn a lesson from Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Our rulers have practically proved that patience is very crucial in politics. We should at least learn a lesson now. He is trying to become the leader at any cost. He never thinks whether it is the right time or right environment to become the leader and the repercussions if the attempt fails and whether he can take the responsibility of the repercussions of such a decision.
“He never even thinks whether he has the leadership qualities for that. While he tries to take over power by creating an artificial trend in an immature manner, he has no plan or action plan in mind. This is not a new thing for this country. Gotabaya Rajapaksa proved it in reality. I wonder whether he is trying to act the second episode of Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Our politicians should learn a lesson at least from Gotabaya Rajapaksa,” she said.
