A Sri Lankan legal expert points out that action should be taken in coordination with the Japanese Embassy regarding the alleged abduction of a Japanese minor by a Sri Lankan youth.
Prof. Prathibha Mahanamahewa, Attorney-at-Law, stated that the issue should be resolved in a humane and amicable manner considering how the law is interpreted in Japan.
The Japanese girl who is currently on probation while being pregnant told the Hiru news team that she had voluntarily fled to Sri Lanka with her Sri Lankan boyfriend.
Her mother had lodged a complaint with the Sri Lankan police last March and they were arrested last week.

Sri Lankan authorities must leave this couple alone if they are adults and tell that mother to fly a kite.I know the pressure on them especially a South east Asian marrying a Japanese girl but a sudda boy or male is acceptable. I am sad to say that I had to scold one of their priests at the steps of Maligawa where one of their priest scolded me in their language when I was holding the hands of my wife where I mastered the art of insulting them in their own language. This happened to me again when a couple of Thai Priests was seem to be insulting me at the steps of The Budhist centre I helped to set up in London. They thought my wife was a Thai and it was on the Wesak day.We moved away from there without attending the event.I forgive them as I suffered the same fate from the locals when I dated and carried on with many sudda girls.
If this couple is of the adult age then the free them to live in the country of this Darmadeepaya.
