   I cannot understand the reason for this idiotic complaint. Immdiately only 225 vaccinations are required to vaccinate the MPs to be followed by a similar number 10 – 12 weeks later. This is clearly a selfish complaint similar to what the Opposition Leader – Sajith Premadasa makes.

   All this is happening on the background of the Government doing its best to vaccinate the total population based on priorities as well as WHO recommendations.

   The above request is slur against the intelligence of the Sri Lankan people who made provisions for these 225 MPs to be appointed as their political representatives. At every election a country goes through a rigorous and costly process to choose these MPs and it is imperative that they be vaccinated and protected not only because they need to meet the public more frequently but also they in turn could be the very vectors of virus propagation.
