One of Russia’s top propagandists has unveiled seven targets in the UK, which Vladimir Putin could strike in retaliation to sir Keir Starmer’s military help to Ukraine.

London, Kent, Manchester, Birmingham and Portsmouth are on the Kremlin’s ‘hit list’ to ‘collapse British society’.

TV host and State Duma lawmaker Yevgeny Popov made the threat on the state-run Rossiya 1 TV channel.

In addition to main cities, he said Putin would target Devonport – the largest naval base in Western Europe – and the home of Britain’s nuclear weapons in Scotland.

Popov said: ‘Special attention to Britain, our traditional enemy, as a significant part of the [Russian] Northern Fleet will work against [the UK].

‘Under attack Washington has put not only London, but Manchester, Birmingham, the largest naval base Devonport, the Clyde in Scotland, where the King stores his Trident nuclear missiles, Portsmouth as well as Chatham Dockyard in the county of Kent.

‘This is Britain at its most vulnerable. Basically, all it would take is three missiles and this civilisation would collapse.’

Popov was raging over US plans to deploy Tomahawk cruise missiles, hypersonic weapons and Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) to Germany.

In a statement last week, the White House confirmed the weapons will be sent in 2026 in a bid to demonstrate its commitment to Nato and European defence.ahlem, [and] Ramstein.’
