The Western powers have always needed enemies to force their agendas down the throats of different nations at various times in history. With the end of colonialism, however, the U.S. spurred by its imperial mindset, has taken over the role of ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”civilisingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ the former colonies, with the full backing of France, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK which now are, for all intents and purposes, U.S. satellite states.
Enemy number one has always been ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”IslamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. The war against Islam, however, was reduced to a low intensity conflict whilst the West engaged itself in the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Cold WarƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. When Soviet Russia eventually caved in due to Western pressure, not without the crucial help of the Afghan Mujahedin though, it trained its guns back on Islam.
Islam has always been a thorn in the WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s side. Despite centuries of colonialism the West has not been able to subdue the faith or the spirit of millions of its adherents.
War on Terror or Crusades?
Muslims see the WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”war on terrorƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ as yet another campaign to crush Islam and think itƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s a continuation of the crusades despite pious pontifications to the contrary. This raises the question – why does the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”empireƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, see Islam and the Muslims as enemies? This is largely because Muslims have never surrendered their passionate loyalty to their faith or their traditions in return for cars, coca-cola and in general the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”good lifeƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ which is fast crumbling under its own contradictions as we speak. Muslims had fought for their independence with ferocity as one insurrection after another during colonial occupation clearly demonstrates. Bear in mind that virtually all Muslim countries were under occupation of one Western colonial power or another for centuries but hardly any Muslim exchanged his or her faith for material gains. Even the likes of Salman Rushdie or Taslima Nazreen have not been able to make a dent in the mindsets of Muslims despite the WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s heavy funding and political support to use them to bring Islam and Muslims into the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”enlightened eraƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and to fit in cozily with AmericaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s PNAC.
ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Islamic BankingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Islamic FundamentalismƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢?
The WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s media has marched in lockstep with its leaders in their spiteful attacks on Islam and the Muslims without even pausing for reflection as is expected of media personnel. The media ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”expertsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ have never seen a need for a deeper look or an understanding of what makes the Muslim tick.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The once valiant Afghan Mujahedin who fought the Russian occupation of Afghanistan are now being described as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Islamic fundamentalistsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ or ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Muslim terroristsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, because this time round they are fighting the US led NATO occupation of their land. Islam we are told repeatedly is a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”backward ideologyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ or a throwback to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”medieval timesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. Yet there is a glaring inconsistency to this charge. Today we see what is called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Islamic bankingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ (a misnomer) flourishing the world over, whilst what is called ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”conventional bankingƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ is going belly up all over the U.S. and Europe. There are many non-Muslims who run ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Islamic banksƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ around the world but nobody has the imagination or the temerity to call them ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Muslim fundamentalistsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ or the system as a throwback to ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”medieval timesƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢! Karen Armstrong in her biography of the Prophet Mohammed states that it was IslamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s obsession with social and economic justice that led to its success as a world religion. The book, though, has a lot of short comings.
ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Western Media Brainwashing.
Over the years the WestƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s media (sometimes copied by media of non-Western countries), in tandem with their respective governmentsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ pernicious imperialist designs, has shaped the minds of its viewers, readers and listeners with negative images of Islam. They want the world to believeƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ theirƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ version of Islam instead of the Islam that Muslims believe in. Take for example the recent riots in the UK. Three Muslims were killed when a car driven by a rioter ran over them. The Western media referred to the dead as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Asian immigrantsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. Had a Muslim committed this crime he would have been depicted as a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Muslim extremistƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ or an ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Islamic terroristƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢. Nobody pointed a finger at the faith of the non-Muslim rioter, and thatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s understandable because his faith cannot be held accountable for his crime.
ItƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s not uncommon to hear such clichƒÆ’†’ƒ”š‚©s as the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”green perilƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ or the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”crescent of crisisƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ to describe TalibanƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s resistance to the US led NATO occupation of Afghanistan. This is not to say that the Taliban are all lilywhite. But the fact is that the narratives we hear about them come from their enemies which is in line with the Nazi description of the French Resistance as a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”terroristƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ movement.
Popular magazines like Time or Newsweek do not think it unfair or unethical to run cover stories describing American Muslims as the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Jihadi Next DoorƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ or the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”Return of IslamƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, depicting a picture of Muezzin in a minaret calling the faithful to prayer, to describe the roles of Islamic parties in North Africa and the Middle East. Neither does Hollywood, for that matter.

While Muslims are being projected as some kind of barbarians from the Middle Ages, the Western media (that preeminently includes Hollywood) presents the actual fundamentalists in Washington DC who dictate terms to the world, as saviours of the universe when in fact they are anything but that. Islam is seen as an ideology standing in the way of the empire.
When we had President George Bush snr claiming that he was doing the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”LordƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s workƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ when he bombed Iraq in what is called the 1stƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Gulf War, nobody in the world ever called him a fundamentalist or challenged his secular claims. Ronald Reagan was yet another ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”born againƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ fundamentalist who believed the Holy Spirit was in him as was Jimmy Carter. George Bush jnr claimed he was on talking terms with God and yet nobody dare call him a fundamentalist. If a ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”fundamentalistƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ Muslim were to make a similar claim, his co-religionists would put him in the nut house. George Bush was put in the White House. Lucky he.
You can be sure Islam will continue to be in the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”newsƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ and projected as civilisationƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s enemy as the Arab Spring goes about bringing in change to improve the lives of their people which was made meaningless by US multi-national corporations and the banksters. Happily the Arabs Spring has inspired American and IsraeliƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s to rise up against the ruling elite in their respective countries and produced the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”OccupyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ movements.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The 99% in the belly and heart of the US have woken up and can now connect with the Arab Spring. In the meantime, spy agencies like the CIA, Mossad and MI6 will not rest until they bring back the Arabs and the Iranians and the Turks back to the fold of obedience to the American empire and obeisance to Israel.

Unfortunately “Zionists” and the west are not alone.
Due to the conduct of some Muslims, most people around the world are coming to this same conclusion.

World’s worst criminal country is Saudi. Worse than USA. It finances terrorism, no human rights, no women’s rights, still uses stone age barbaric punishments, no democracy, a*selicks USA all the time, etc.
Even in Mecca there are US military bases. USA has MOST bases outside USA in Saudi. So what are you talking? The guardian of Islam is a servant of USA and Israel!!

The custodian of two sacred mosques – Saudi Arabia – seems to be a good Muslim Country through their dress not in action. Really they depend upon Jews. They impose strict Sharia law not to their own citizens, but for outsiders. Saudi backed extremism is obvious. Don’t take their examples as model of Islam.

Without blaming Muslims always try to look at global affairs in a different perspective. For example don’t you think Muslims are the only ones fighting against the US empire and it acolytes like Britain and the rest of the EU?
Muslims are the last line of defense against Western imperialism. As Steve Biko said ‘change the way you think and things will not be the same’.
For sure I’ll be the first to agree the Saudi regime is corrupt and in tow with the Americans and even the Israelis for their self protection against Muslim ‘rebels’ withing their ranks.

Not true. As Rohan says there is a peaceful way to fight. Muslims are not doing that.
The other is violent way of fighting but Muslims are NOT doing that! Look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Turkey, Pakistan, etc. Instead of killing Americans they kill EACH OTHER!! Only less than 6,000 Americans died in both Iraq and Afghanistan but Shite-Sunni, etc, violence WITHIN has killed millions!
Is that fighting against America or fighting FOR America?

I came back from Qatar recently. True it is rich in monetrary terms. But they don’t value human life. I almost fell into a huge hole by the raod without any protection. All workers are Indians( Kerala) , Egiptians and Filipinos.
I alos agree that Saudi is the most uncivilized barbaric county in the world.

Officially Indonesia is the largest muslim country, then probably India then Bangladesh and followed by middle eastern countries and African nations.
So you will see that not all Muslims are the same.
