ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-SomeoneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s property becomes another oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s libertyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ the practice is nothing unusual for most of our peopleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s dear servants commonly known as politicians. Wake of the new beginning in the country, it seems the light of good vision started shedding onto unexpected quarters, hence sparks delight in common people.

ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-No one is permitted to use war hero sentiment for election gains in the futureƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ it sounds somewhat alien to us but it was a stern decree which came from upper echelons to those exploiters, undoubtedly throwing them into a sudden political emptiness. Certainly this is a clear indication of which shape the future Sri Lankan politics should take place thereby leaving difficult grounds for those who mastered the art of talking-shop to revisit their golden old strategy.

The importance of this timely policy carries a fair amount of weight on domestic politics in the country time to come, as bulk of our voters are politically blindfolded and ready to believe anything uttered by politicians

Besides the recent victory, almost all the other national and international achievements or any fame or the prestige brought by determined Sri Lankans, these politicians never spare anything within their image-boosting-radar. In the event of a global or national recognition, as fellow citizens we all share the pride & glory and should be grateful to the people who are responsible for it, including politicians who ever extend their efforts in the front and behind the scene, yet the fact should remain as ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-its part of their dutyƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚.

By adopting a habit of prolonged -triumphalism or attempting to grab another oneƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s achievement dare to play with distorted tune to their own political mileage must become a taboo. It is worth to mention especially those folks who survive and live by simply adopting the ill habit of holding onto anything to cover up their political bankruptcy.

When athlete or national team brings a glory to motherland all those hidden hardly- heard-of politicians come to surface like seasonal mushrooms and already in for front with no time, just to make sure their existence be heard of. These activities intensify during their politically drought seasons than in their hay days. When M.J.M. Laffir, a humble sportsman became the World Billiard Champion and brought honour to motherland in 1973, for then politicians it wasnƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢t a significant victory, no triumphalism no plot of lands given simply because of the next election was not in sight, according the prevailed system at that time. Sadly, it was a missed opportunity for a present day politician who goes on glory-hunts tirelessly.

The timely policy of not allowing politicians to exploit the great victory at least for their political gains highly commendable, hope that will put into practice without leaving for yet another mere worthless note since the country in its most crucial juncture.

The fragmentation of once integrated portfolios in order to feed the ever growing numbers of ministry seekers cannot be severed with the issue which resulted in producing plenty of title deeds even for a single isolated and perhaps not very significant achievement immaterial of which quarter it comes from, thatƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s the reality.

Nevertheless, knowing the fact that those deeply rooted certain constituents irreversible, by imposing certain amount of political ethics into the system would bring definite positive results in many ways.
