Concern of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights at Major General Shavendra Silva’s appointment to a UN advisory panel

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the lady from South Africa who is not known to get fatigued at attacking the peace-loving Sri Lanka and whose connections to South Africa ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” the land of the Zulus, Xhosa, Swazi, and Ndebele, SothoƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…”Tswana, Venda, Lemba, and ShangaanTsonga ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢¢”š¬…” span only a relatively short period, is quoted as being concerned about the appointment of Major General Shavendra Silva to a UN advisory panel.ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  The world knows that her blood links her to Tamil Nadu for generations prior to that, and as the saying, ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-Blood is thicker than waterƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚ goes, she naturally will be concerned about the unexpected demise of the descendants of her forefathers who opted to land in Sri Lanka instead of going to South Africa like hers: Major General Silva is a convenient scapegoat.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ One can only feel sorry for the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”South AfricanƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ lady, although her stance is nothing surprising. Major General Shavendra Silva is a hero to the entire peace-loving Sri Lankan nation, and his command of Sri Lanka Army’s 58th Division and the military strategies of his colleagues leading the other divisions that jointly defeated the LTTE leaders are the stuff on which Hollywood war epics are made: the screen writers ofƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚  the classic ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ…-ZuluƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”š‚, which gave Michael Caine his first starring role, would grab the prospect of making a blockbuster on how the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”invincibleƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ LTTE met its Waterloo in the Nandikadal marshes at the hands of the soldiers commanded by Major General Silva and his colleagues

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The LTTE remnants and those who stood to gain from the pre-eminent position that was bestowed upon the band of terrorists by the West, primarily Norway, will naturally accuse those who were responsible for the demise of their leaders of committing war crimes. Accusation is not proof of guilt: the accused has to be convicted based on evidence. It is the three-decade war in Sri Lanka and the ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”persecutionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢ of innocent Tamils by the Sinhalese that served as the golden key that opened the doors of Canada, Australia, Norway and the other affluent countries to the bogus refugee claimants, many of whom, in fact, had been paying 40,000 to 50,000 US Dollars per person to human traffickers to get out of Sri Lanka to a pampered and comfortable life for them and their near and dear in the rich West.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ Before the commanders of the various divisions of the armed forces and the armed men and women are accused of war crimes, the human rights crusaders of the West and the human rights czars, who incidentally draw enviable salaries and perks from the international organisations, should go direct to the people living in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka and get firsthand information from them. Whatever misery the latter may face today is likely to be preferred by them to being forced to move from one village to another, from the North West to the North East, and then to be herded and corralled to be used as a human shield by their own ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”leader and ƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ”¹…”protectorƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢, as happened until they were delivered from their misery by Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s men and women in uniform.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Sri LankaƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s UN missionƒÆ’‚¢ƒ¢-¡‚¬ƒ¢-¾‚¢s statement that the stand taken by the High Commissioner for Human Rights is unfair and unethical is apt, although far too polite, as expected. Ethics are not rules, but conventions that are agreed upon by at least two parties. The High Commissioner for Human Rights has never been objective or unbiased as far as Sri Lanka was concerned, always siding with the LTTE: she was blind to the proscription of child soldiers by the LTTE and to the massacre of civilians of every faith and ethnic group by the LTTE.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ The Human Rights Commissioner owes a great deal to Durban, South Africa. A little bird tells me that the local community helped her with donations to complete her education at University of Natal. Leave Sri Lanka alone: it is capable of looking after its affairs.

ƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ By the way, resigning from the positions they hold is what gentlemen (and gentlewomen) are known to do when the actions of the institutions that employed them do not tally with their beliefs and values. This is an option open to the good lady if she is really concerned!

Gamini, please print your aticle and mail ti to HE Mr. President, Temple Trees, Colombo, without delay.

  2. Christie Says:

Hon UNHCR Indian colonial parasite Navi Pillai is from South Africa. For these Indian colonial parasites their hosts are fair game. She is a Tamil like Tamils elsewhere. Tamils in Durban paid for her education.
It is rumored that this woman was shown the UNSG’s three person report before it was given to UNSG. Behind all these are India and Indian colonial parasites.
Vijay Nambiar the UN senior office boy is another Indian who is scheming against the non Indians of the island nation.
Ms Yasmin Sooka is another Indian colonial parasite from South Africa. She is one of the UNSG’s report writer on the island nation. She should have declined as she is an Indian colonial parasite and hates their hosts. I am sure one of these two women were going around the world in 1984 calling King Buthelezi “that little animal” after Zulus attacked Indian colonial parasites and wrecked Mohadas Karamchand’s (Popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi).in1984.
Colonial parasites in South Africa are a privileged lot like in other parts of the Indian Empire. These parasites congress as envisaged by their god father Mohandas Karamchand..
