Press Release -The Muslim Council of Sri Lanka
The Sri Lankan Muslims and the global Muslim community are shocked and dismayed by reports that the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant (ISIL) has ordered the forceful eviction of Christians in Mosul and Yazidee community and other provinces. This action is against the vehemently condemns this act of barbarism and calls upon the ISIL and other groups to desist from ethnic cleaning of non–‐Muslims in Iraq. There is no place in Islam to commit injustice against any people. The rights of all as per the teaching of Islam are unambiguously clear. It commands the establishment of brotherhood based on liberty, equality and equity. Islam commands Muslims to show kindness to even their adversaries at all times, especially in times of need. The great amnesty given by Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) at the time of the great Meccan victory to those who persecuted him and his followers is an outstanding example and guidance to Muslims of all time.

Why condemn AFTER the event?
The right things was to PREVENT this BARBARIC act. ISIS and ISIL carry out these BARBARIC missions in the name of Islam.
Quran (2:191-193) – “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief] is worse than killing…
but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)”
What else can a good Muslim do to please Allah (PBUH) than follow the Koran!

This same council BLAMED innocent Buddhists for the Aluthgama JIHAD violence. So now your credibility is lost.
Condemn the Islamic attack on a Buddhist monk and his driver in Aluthgama in June 2014. Can you do that?

This barbaric council did not condemn murdering of our own innocent girl Rizzana Nafeek.
They want to show solidarity with foreigners, as always.

I do not believe this cry for Christians in Mosul by the President of the Muslim Council of Sri Lanka is genuine for there are very very few verses in the Koran promote peace and tolerance. I like to add one more verse from the Koran to the one that already mentioned above by Lorenzo to prove my point. I am sure many others can add at least one verse each to substantiate our point.
Let me cut and paste verse 51 of Sura Al-Ma’idah as an evidence to my point which can be interpreted without context. “O you who believe [Muslims], don’t take the Jews and the Christians as friends. They are friends of each other. And whoever amongst you takes them for friends he is indeed one of them.”

“don’t take the Jews and the Christians as friends. They are friends of each other.” – this is true.
What is not true is their pretence as a “religion of peace”. It is a religion of violence and hate speech. No Muslim should any one from any religion to be peaceful. Just say we want to kill you. We will accept that as a honest statement and respect honesty of Islaam then.
