SWRD Vs MAHINDA RAJAPAKSE- A reply to Mr Charles S Perera

My Dear Charles
In many ways parallels can be drawn between SWRD and MR. As we see now, SWRD’s job was far more easier in 1956 than for MR now. SWRD changed the religion, which gave an instant vote winning qualification. MR remained as Buddhist as before. SWRD had great visionary leaders like Philip Gunawardene, a fire brand speaker with a touch of common man. MR lost JVP support, but won Wimal Weerawansa. However, Wimal is not yet Philip, even Dinesh or Indika Gunawardene’s are not Philip, the Lion of Boralugoda. SWRD had Ven Bambarende Siri Seevali. Only Ven Maduluwawe Sobitha came close to Bambarenda Siri Seevali, but MR could not fetch Sobitha. SWRD had Oxford Education, an excellent orator, MR is not in the same Class.
But, in 1956 era SWRD faced Chelvanayagam, a Pussy Cat, compared to Prabhakaran. KMP Rajaratne was the best to beat Tamils, but he was not in the same class SWRD. MR had to face Prabha, United Nations Security Council, Western Alliance, Diaspora and the Ruins of Economy with high unemployment and dwindling foreign reserves etc. MR’s job was thousand times difficult than that of SWRD. Fortunately, he had the best brains in the same blood, Gotabaya like a Caterpillar and Basil who “stings like a Bee”.
SWRD had problems in his Kitchen, an oblique public reference to Madam Sirimavo by SWRD, who was not a socialist when her husband was in power. This is a fact, as the writer is a very close relative of SWRD clan. But MR so far had no problems in the Kitchen.
Blessings of your wife is the greatest asset than the blessings of Maha Sanga. With Shiranthi with MR, Basil and Gota like Seriyuth Mugalan, President Mahainda Rajapakse will be back sooner than we expect.
Thank you my Dear Charles, a great write up by you.

There are HUGE differences between the great SWRD-B and MR.
1. SWRDB was a pioneer. He formed his own party and won the election. He didn’t go behind his OLD party begging for nominations and the PM post. MR FAILED to form his own party.
2. SWRDB stood for SINGHALA ONLY official language but MR stands for TAMIL OFFICIAL LANGUAGE too. This is a MASSIVE weakness.
3. SWRDB tore off the B-C PACT when patriots protested against it but MR FAILED to tear off the LLRC report despite protests from patriots.
4. SWRDB NEVER spoke in TAMIL!! But MR did many times trying to win Tamil votes. Sirisena and Run-nil NEVER spoke in Tamil but WON Tamil votes!!
MR even spoke in Tamil at the UN in 2007. Others may have thought SL is a TAMIL COUNTRY!
On the other hand SWRDB spoke IN SIGHNALA at the UN.
5. SWRDB never accepted people like KP into his protection.
6. SWRDB never allowed his family members in parliament. They came to parliament AFTER he died.
I DISAGRE that MR faced bigger challenges than SWRDB.
During SWRDB’s time ALL media was under UNP and west. ALL professional jobs were under UNP and west. ALL businesses were under UNP and Endians. He defeated all these. It was called the SECOND MAARA DEFEAT.
Singhala people today need another SWRDB not another MR.

My Dear MDP,
Thank you very much for appreciating my write up. I believe that the destinies of Sri Lanka had been bound to Mahinda Rajapakse. The Sri Lanka after Mahinda Rajapakse is completely different from what it was before. A golden age is defined as a period in a field of endeavour when great tasks were accomplished. The golden age of modern Independent Sri Lanka was undoubtedly the period Mahinda Rajapakse was the President of Sri Lanka from 2005 to 2014. There were other players but they were only participants in relation to the key player Mahinda Rajapakse.
It is unimaginable what difficulties that man would have had running the country, fighting a war, providing the people with a respectable standard of living, and facing incessant crippling interference coming from the west.
We can complain that he had failed to do many things , and many things went wrong in the country during the time, but despite all that he had developed the country, brought about peace and security.
Big noise is made about corruption. But there was always corruption, there was before, after, and even now. The contribution to development of the country under Mahinda Rajapakse had been enormous despite the allegation of corruption. A new government has come since 8 January,2015 , but for the last 22 months they have failed to do any thing constructive, except taking the country back words.
I therefore think that to revitalise this country and bring back the “golden age” a Mahinda Rajapakse is necessary.

Yes Lorenzo tries his usual pattern of painting black a great man. He has not even understood the sense of what I tried to say in my article. It was not to compare SWRD to MR. There is a complete misunderstanding. He writes what is in his mind to nullify what good we say about MR… that is how he works; There will soon be a comment by Gonsul in the same line.

India and Indian colonial parasites funded and supported both SWRD (starting from1951) and Mahinda (only 2005); that is the only similarity between the two.
India and Indian colonial parasites used moral corruption to beat Sir John Kotalawala in 1956. In 2015 they used financial corruption to beat Mahinda.
Rajaratna of Welimada was funded by Indian merchants.
SWRD clan was another puppet of India like Sirisena and JR.
Mahinda did not become a puppet of India.
The biggest error made by the Indian intelligence service was backing Mahinda in 2005. They managed to correct their mistake using SWRD’s daughter.

SWRD had problems in his Kitchen, an oblique public reference to Madam Sirimavo by SWRD”. Do you mean, in the bedroom?
“This is a fact, as the writer is a very close relative of SWRD clan”. Could you please tell us about your relationship, contacts and interactions with the clan? How many Sinhalese were entertained by the clan compared to Indian colonial parasites? Who paid and provided house hold goods? Did they go out to be entertained by Indians in posh hotels of the day?
K P Rajaratna was funded by Indian merchants.

There are differences, I mentioned two elsewhere will not repeat.
However another HUGE difference was Banda had a Buddhist wife and MR has a God abiding one and much more foolish too compared to Sirima.
Here MR is going around “PEOPLE MADE A MISTAKE BY LISTENING TO UNP LIES” and the wife is confessing MR was a FOOL , mislead by those who surrounding him.
MR is going around pretending “I am the decision maker” and “I am Sinhala Buddhist”, she is saying she will be the decision maker and she will do it God Willing !

Charles,
“Yes Lorenzo tries his usual pattern of painting black a great man.”
I DON’T. I did an objective comparison between the 2. IF it is wrong, please point out. Even my parents were not born in 1956. So I may miss a point.
MR is better than Run-nil and CBK. But against SWRDB the answer is no.
SL today needs another SWRDB not a MR.
SWRDB started as an Anglican English-only speaking Colombo person studied at Christian schools. But he converted to Buddhism, learned Sinhala and accustomed to Sinhala traditions.
MR started as a Sinhala Buddhist village lad studying at a Buddhist school but ended a Colombo multi-faith person.
SWRDB moved from his Ridgeway Cottage into Horagolla Walawwa.
MR moved from his Madamulane Walawwa to Carlton House.
BOTH SWRDB and MR are GREAT politicians but one is WAY ABOVE the other.
I see GR as closer to SWRDB.
November 13th, 2016 at 9:32 pm
VATICAN and THIRUPATHY controlled him through Shiranthi and Nadesan (in law).
Bishop Kasippu Joseph misused this against SL.
I agree with “මම සාමාන්යයෙන් කේන්දර පස්සේ එච්චර දුවන්නේ නැහැ. මම ඕන දෙයක් කියන්නේ දෙවියන්වහන්සේට.” Me too.
I think Sirima was a VERY GOOD BUDDHIST (and never a beauty queen – ooops!) and that was SWRDB’s strength. I don’t think anyone here would DISAGREE with that.
(IF SWRDB called his wife KITCHEN that is wrong. She worked in the kitchen to cook food for him and his kids. Not for fun. Show some respect.)

Kon Dostara,
BTW MR had much more problems in Kitchen when he was Kitchi Kitchi with many other women, it is not her fault though.

Go to Manthri.lk website to see what our politicians are doing.
MR and Rathana are 2 MPs with very low participation. MR has only participated in 1 matter in parliament this year!!

Whole of what I say is that SLFP and the UNP cannot get together to form a Government. That is the long and short of it.
November 14th, 2016 at 2:23 am
It proves the character . Never care public money he is spending on 100 men protection ++. Is this the one who loves the country leading by example?
BTW most Sri Lankans just want a job for salary, don’t care wherther they produce something for the salary or not. I would rather employ Philipinos than SriLankans.
May be we should advertise and appoint a Philipino as our President !

I post below a comment made by Susantha to a Comment made by Gonsal on an article by MDP Dissanayake.
These are shere Absurd and meaningless comments made for the sake of making comments reproducing long article from else where.
Susantha Wijesinghe Says:

POL PISSO MISSED THE BUS EH ?
November 14th, 2016 at 1:47 pm
The Editor
Lankaweb.
Sir
I refer to comment by Mr Charles S Perera. Comments of forum readers bring great value if it relates to the subject matter of the writer’s main article. However, sadly there are many instances, totally irrelevant comments are published. On many occasions, very long comments are made, quite out of turn. These commentators, in many instances, simply copy and paste the same comment, to several other main articles. For example by “plumblossom” etc. There are others, who plagiarize shamelessly. And there are others use Lankaweb platform just to bring down the standards of the website.
It is time the Editorial Board introduce a Vertting Process to eliminate such low quality, irrelevant comments. Many writers such as Shenali Waduge, Dilrook, Govim Dayasiri, HLD, Prof Hudson, Dharman Wickremaratne, PA Samaraweera, Charles Perera etc. write quality articles, unfortunately convuluded by readers’ irrelevant comments.
November 14th, 2016 at 3:30 pm
Dear Charles,
Read that again please. You are completely absorbed into ignorace and are not able to capture the differnece between right and wrong !
“Pol Pisso” are the idiots who break coconuts, in that case it was the Tamils who did that. They missed the bus, because Trump won. Susantha may be old but he is very sharp.
We Sinhalayas too have POL PISSO. Recently Bandula Gunawardena was entrusted with the task of organizing a ‘coconut-breaking’ ritual at the Kali Kovil at Modera to invoke divine punishment on ‘ayes’ to the VAT Bill in Parliament. However when the voting came main man MR did not vote ( he was present). POL PISSO are not only cheating us but preventing real patrioting voice being heard, distracting public.
Dear MDP,
I agree with you mostly , but sometimes commnetators want to reply to other commentators ( specially to point out errors ) and to publish some news not seen here. Are you not used to democracy , Doctor ?
November 14th, 2016 at 3:58 pm
Dear Editor and others,
I appreciate and support what Dr Dissanayake says. MEANINGLESS copy-paste, abusive comments and repetitions should NOT be allowed.
However, DISSENT must be allowed in the spirit of Lankaweb – the only patriotic website that allows comments. We all appreciate the free service it provides using the valuable time of the editor and every volunteer behind this website.
Singhalese, particularly Buddhists influenced by KALAMA SUTRA, allow and respect different views made respectfully and with facts. That should continue. Otherwise we end up like TALIBAN, HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE, CURRENT GESTAPO UNP GOVT. or the LTTE. Or the HILLARY CLINTON campaign!
We all love to read what we agree with. But that is not always true. Shooting the messenger only kills the messenger NOT the message he delivers. We should be OPEN to diverse views before we crash like HILLARY.
Anyway the decision is yours and we all respect that.
November 14th, 2016 at 4:59 pm
Calling world respected world’s 1st prime minister “KITCHEN” is much more than abusive. Although her civil rights were taken by cunning JR, she never had any allegation of corruption or misuse of public wealth unlike wives of more recent mob of politicians who do not command ANY kind of respect.
She was a true Sinhala Buddhist woman who encouraged her husband to convert to Buddhism, rather than waiting for GOD to convert him to her own religion.
What kind of Sinhala Buddhist would call her KITCHEN ?
MDP should write another article comapring the two wives. It will prove my point. Editor willing, I will certainly commenet. Please take up this challange rather than trying to shut our mouths to push your politically biased ideas only. People will not be cheated forever.
November 14th, 2016 at 6:05 pm
I appreciate Sirima not Banda the cunning puppet of Indian Empire and Indian colonial parasites like Sirisena. For example she is the pioneer of the tourist industry in the island. The only problem was she had to operate within the environment set by Banda the cunning.
The only thing I do not appreciate ist Sirima was more of a Hindu believing in disabled gods like Kataragamaya with half a dozen dicks and a dozen balls. Remeber the days she was part of the Lunawa Temple in, Moratuwa.

Charles and Fran,
The KATUSSA (Lorenzo) and the KALAWEDDA (Gonsal)
PRETEND not to UNDERSTAND that you love Sri Lanka FIRST and then those who help DEFEND, PROTECT and FISTER SRi Lanka like MR.
They PRETEND not to UNDERSTAND that MR, and the RAjapakse family, did what no other President and family did in modern times to CRUSH the EELAMISTS and RESCUE Sri Lanka’s CROWN from the GUTTER it had fallen into.
They want to SOW Maximum CHAOS, undermining EVERY GREAT LEADER we have, including MR, GOTA AND WIMAL.
Do they propagandize their DESTRUCTIVE EELAMIST agenda here, PRETENDING to be Patriots, in an INCESTUOUS DO-LOOP, to undermine the Pagtriots at LankaWeb who STAND for those who HAVE PROTECTED Sri Lanka in the PAST, and CAN PROTECT Sri Lanka NOW.
The INCESTOUS DO-LOOP:
DO
Katussa (Lorenzo) ……..> Kalaweddda (Gonsal)
Kalaweddda (Gonsal) ……… > Katussa (Lorenzo)
IF (PATRIOTS HAVE GIVEN-UP) EXIT LOOP
CONTINUE
Their PROBLEM is Sri Lanka’s PATRIOTIC SONS & DAUGHTERS WILL NEVER GIVE UP!!

Ananda,
Thanks very much for saying that WE NEVER GIVE UP !
Our Goal : Truth & Justice for All !

Rajapaksa planning to break away from coalition, says brother Basil
Thu, Nov 17, 2016, 09:30 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.
Nov 17 (Hindu) Former Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa is planning to break away from the ruling coalition, his brother announced on Thursday, a move that could threaten constitutional reforms seen as crucial to post-war reconciliation.
Basil Rajapaksa formed a new party earlier this month to challenge President Maithripala Sirisena, who ousted his brother from power in January 2015 after a bitterly fought election. On Thursday, he said the former strongman leader would defect from the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) that he once led to head the new party.
Mr. Sirisena formed a unity government with the right-wing United National Party after taking power and is the current head of the SLFP, but more than half its MPs remain loyal to Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa.
“Our leader is Mahinda”
“Our leader is Mahinda Rajapaksa,” Mr. Basil told reporters in Colombo. “It is the Mahinda Rajapaksa vision that drives us.”
Mr. Rajapaksa tried to become prime minister at parliamentary elections held seven months after his shock defeat, but failed and now pulls strings from behind the scenes as a backbencher.
A formal break-up of the SLFP could deprive Mr. Sirisena of the two-thirds majority required for constitutional reforms he has promised to bring about to ensure reconciliation after decades of ethnic war.
Mr. Sirisena’s administration is currently working on a new constitution to share political power with the island’s Tamil minority and end decades of ethnic unrest.
Mr. Rajapaksa, who turns 71 on Friday, has declined to say whether he will formally quit the SLFP, but the new party — Sri Lanka People’s Front (SLPF) — is being launched ahead of local government elections due early next year.
No comments from Sirisena
There was no immediate comment from Mr. Sirisena, who has previously warned Mr. Rajapaksa against breaking up the SLFP.
Soon after coming to power in January last year, Mr. Sirisena ordered criminal investigations into corruption under the Rajapakse regime.
The former leader’s closest family members face allegations of bribery, extortion and even murder.
Rajapaksa’s two sons — legislator Namal and ex-navy officer Yoshitha — and two of his siblings are currently on bail after being charged with corruption, including money laundering.
Sri Lanka has sought help from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigations and other international organisations to track down billions of dollars said to have been siphoned out of the island during Mr. Rajapakse’s decade in power.
