Even as the Sri Lankan voter is voting for who will lead the country for the next four or six years, as a Sri Lankan devoted to the future of the Sri Lankan nation, and the generations of Sri Lankans yet to be born, I hope that sanity will prevail among all democratic, freedom loving Sri Lankans.

The track records of peopleƒÆ’-¡ƒ”š‚ are indicators of what we can expect from them. Those of the JVP and Ranil are true indicators of how deplorable they can be, what we can expect from them, and what a bleak future Sri Lanka will be exposed to should they have any kind of power. Add to that a man who disgraced hiself by betraying his country by making such damaging statements about the army he led, and the proxies of the very terrorists who systematically destroyed the country these last thirty some years, and what do we have? Disaster, catastrophe for all Sri Lankans.
If we as Sri Lankans can even think that this would be a positive change for Sri Lanka, there must be something terribly wrong with Sri Lankan thinking-in which case, we probably deserve our bleak future. May everything that’s good on earth guide us to a better fate.
