What is All This About "To Reduce CBK's Security Is to Want Her Dead-AB?"

An interesting article was seen in the Sunday Leader of 30th July 2006 in which the brother of former President Chandrika Kumaratunga "sobbing" for his sister's safety by stating to the Sunday Leader that "………..any mention of reducing her security could only be interpreted as wanting her dead."

Brother Anura who did not bat an eye lid nearly 2 decades ago to sling "the worst mud possible" on his beloved sister from UNP platforms, but who was forgiven and taken into the cabinet of the PA Government during Chandrika Kumaratunga's rule of 1994-2005 and who is still licking "the hurt wounds "of not being appointed the Prime Minister under the Government of President Rajapakse, is now having aspirations of his sister returning to SL and offering him a better place for his contributions to create problems for the current President!

It is no secret that there are certain Ministers in the current Cabinet who are now in the process of cooking up a conspiracy to bring the former President back and " get on her bandwagon" again to destroy the current President Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse. This plot may not work because the former President has gone down in Sri Lankan history as the one President who has misappropriated her Executive Presidency to amass wealth with great cost to the State. There is a very long list of direct involvement in a number of government deals including how she manipulated to own the Madiwela Land, the Ranaviru Sevana, The Water's Edge deal, to own an apartment in France and a Royal Palace in UK, manipulation to transfer State Funds which ran into millions of Rupees into an account in which she had personal stakes( which was fortunately stalled by President Rajapakse "in the nick of time"), her special manipulation to set aside for herself a personal security force never afforded to any other former President of Sri Lanka- just to name a few. Brother and sister are only liabilities to The State & very expensive on the State Coffers too!

It is true that she suffered the loss of one eye, right at the beginning of her tenure in office as Executive President due to a terrorist attack. However, subsequent to this incident, she patched up with Prabhakaran & has always championed the cause of the LTTE terrorists and has never stood up for the welfare of the majority population of this country which includes the aspirations of the majority of the Tamil community who wish to see an end to LTTE terrorism. What is more traitorous for an incumbent President to do, than conniving with the leader of LTTE terrorists in Sri Lanka Velupillai Prabhakaran to smuggle his wife and children to the United Kingdom? There is no more excuse or pardon for traitorous action whatsoever. How can any one ever think that her life is in danger after this 'great favour" she has done to none other than the LTTE leader himself? All talk about a threat to her life is utter nonsense. Prabhakaran is known for his sense of gratitude towards persons who help him- so how can her life be in danger?

Now, she is just an ordinary citizen like any of us who are living in the midst of everyday turmoil. There is no exception whatsoever. If there is such a great threat to her life, the best thing she could do is to live overseas for the rest of her life because in Sri Lanka- we certainly do not want her back! She has been an absolute insult to her late parents. Let no one including her beloved brother and those Ministers who are now cooking plots for her return, live in a fool's paradise to think that Chandrika Kumaratunga is a hero in this country- NO WAY! She turned out to be the most disappointing and traitorous President that Sri Lanka was unfortunate enough to experience and tolerate for 11 long years.

Dear brother Anura- please don't think that the citizens of this country have short memories like you and your sister. We remember only too well, all the crimes committed by her against this nation called Sri Lanka and her citizens. We do not wish to contribute anymore to her personal agendas of pomp and glory- something she will never earn in this country after all the insults she threw at the citizens of this country. We also remember well, the conspiracies between you and your sister to destroy Mr. Mahinda Rajapakse's rightful place as President after the Presidential Elections of 2005 and now, the current conspiracy to tie up with Ranil Wickramasinghe of the UNP again to create political problems in this country. To tie up with another traitor, is the worst crime that can be committed against The State and her people.

To tie up with a person like Ranil Wickramasinghe who cannot even acknowledge the fact that he has been a total failure and party leader of UNP will not spell any benefits for Sri Lanka and her people or for the conspirators- it might be prudent to remember this.

This is what the saying " Birds of a Feather Flock Together " means!
