"Pulmoddai siege" - Pro LTTE ploy


Defence sources deny pro-LTTE electronic media reports' stating any further attempt to attack the passenger Jetliner, off the seas of Pulmoddai, at 06:00 p.m, today the 01st of August.

Despite, merging with heavy losses after the LTTE failed offensive targeting the SLN passenger vessel, transferring 850 odd unarmed personnel, pro-LTTE media units has taken the burden of comforting the terrorist sympathizers.

LTTE terrorist lost 03 attack crafts and more than 08 terrorist cadres are said to be killed causing a similar number of injures during the retaliatory attacks from the SLN elite sea units.

Meanwhile, LTTE artillery fire has been successfully repulsed through the combined mortar and shell attacks from the Army and SL Naval units in the Trincomalee area. 04 Naval personnel who sustained injuries during the terrorist shell fire, succumbed to their injuries in the evening.

Damages caused to civilian property by the LTTE indiscriminate shell attacks are yet to be confirmed. No civilian casualties is been reported.
